Find your happy place at the First on Elmslie, a country oasis with a lush yard and private lake beach. Sip a glass of wine in front of the fireplace, admire Lake Huron's blue waters from the shore, or curl up in an armchair and gaze out at the greenery. Spend mornings listening to birdsong over breakfast, afternoons go for a hike, and evenings together watching the sunset.

INSIDE
Cottage is open concept. A spacious and fully equipped kitchen means every chef in the group can lend a hand in preparing meals. Dine al fresco or in a sunny nook, then retire to the living area to relax and reconnect.

Gather around the gas fireplace play a game. Or chill with your bestie in the separate sitting area overlooking lake.

WiFi is available, though most guests opt to pore over novels in front of the fireplace or grab a cold drink from the beverage fridge and a handcrafted board game from the Michaud Toys collection. You'll also have access to all the necessary amenities, including a washer and dryer.

NOTE: there is no TV but feel free to bring your own device. WIFI speed is approx 50mpbs

OUTSIDE
Make a fire in the backyard, grill up some steaks, and gossip over a cup of hot chocolate.

NOTE: depending on water levels there may be a small amount of beach but there is always lots of beach on the wall (see pics there's lots of room to play and chillax) Although there is access to the beach, it can be slippery.
Take approx 80 stairs down your private access to the lake. The lakebed can be sandy or stoney depending on what the lake gives you that day. But it sure is fun to try to find the ever changing sandbars. Even if it's stoney...it's fun to go stone collecting - Lake Huron is a geologists paradise! Just bring some water shoes. The nice thing is, it's not weedy or slimy at all.

EXPERIENCE BAYFIELD
With wooded trails, scenic country vistas, and stunning Lake Huron, Bayfield is a beautiful place to explore no matter the season. Bring your hiking boots and plan a trip during leaf-peeping season for a display of color. Several weeks later, the snow starts to fall and guests can enjoy the quiet of winter and crunch through the
snow in evergreen forests or try out the snowshoe trails on the river flats.

You're just five minutes from White Squirrel Golf Club with winter hiking trails and winter golf for those die-hard links lovers. Explore downtown Bayfield, just two minutes away, browsing the unique boutiques and stopping for a hot coffee at one of the quaint cafes. We're happy to suggest our favorite local spas, wineries and breweries, including Dark Horse Estate Winery with a tasting room. If you prefer hops over vines, Bayfield River Road Brewing has an outdoor tasting room to enjoy the craft brews.

I recently spent a week at Elmslie Oasis: Lake Access! and it was an unforgettable experience. The cottage is in an ideal location, providing easy access to the lake and just a quick drive into town. The peace and serenity of the space allowed me to melt away all my stress and truly be present in the moment. The hosts were exceptional, with Jennifer in particular taking meticulous care of all our needs. She checked in frequently and did her utmost to ensure everything was as described. Her attention to detail and genuine care made our stay even more enjoyable. I look forward to returning to this little slice of paradise. Highly recommended!

We enjoyed our time at First on Elmslie! The beach, sunsets and the lake were fantastic! Our party of 7, fit just fine in the house and the second bathroom, was very handy to have. The hot water was never ending and none of us had a cold shower! I personally used the outdoor shower often and is a great alternative to getting all the sand off! We loved just sitting and watching the lake down below or up top, our evening fires gave us even more to watch! Kitchen was well equipped and everything was easy to find. The washer, dryer and dish washer were an added bonus as we did not need to pack as much clothing. We had a wonderful time! In the event that we travel to this area again we would certainly stay here, if it were available!

We like to cook and were very impressed by the large kitchen with everything we needed to make meals every day. Highly recommended.

Had an amazing Mother’s Day getaway with the family and our dog this past weekend. The cottage is nice and spacious for a family, the beach is amazing and would be awesome during the summer. My family and I always travel to Grand Bend/Goderich so the location was perfect, lots to do nearby (within 20-25 min).

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay even though the weather was not the best. The cottage is fully furnished and the layout of kitchen and family room is excellent to spend family time together. There were a number of games for kids and adults that we enjoyed. Access was very easy. The stairs to lake were amazing and safe. Overall an excellent mini family vacation. Thank you Jennifer for the whole experience from start to finish. Strongly recommend.

The cottage mirrored the description and pictures online which is not always the case, so no surprises! There were 6 of us who have been friends for over 30 years and do a trip in the Fall each year, and this one was in the top trips. There was plenty of room, beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped. We brought food and was able to cook/bbq and just enjoy the back yard overlooking the lake. The town of Bayfield only a few minutes away, has some great little shops that made our shopping experience fun with everyone ending our day with a sweater or two! Would recommend this lovely gem to others!

We spent 9 days at this cottage in the winter and had a lovely, relaxing quiet break from the world. Clean, comfortable, well-equipped, beautiful view of the lake and spectacular sunsets, and short drive to Bayfield for provisions and wonderful restaurants. Jennifer and her team provided clear communication and instructions and were responsive and helpful. The big plus for us was the fact that it was pet friendly so we could bring our canine family member. Highly recommend.

We had such a great weekend staying here. Everything we could’ve needed was available in the kitchen once we got our groceries. All spices, pots, pans, oils, sugar, even coffee was provided and it was enough for us as we only stayed for a weekend. The private beach area was perfect for the kids! We set up a little sun shelter, and the kids played in the sand in our own area. The water was too cold as we were there at the beginning of June, but it was still a perfect beach trip for us regardless. The cottage itself was clean, and we enjoyed being there for our stay. We will be back!
