INSIDE
Cottage is open concept. A spacious and fully equipped kitchen means every chef in the group can lend a hand in preparing meals. Dine al fresco or in a sunny nook, then retire to the living area to relax and reconnect.
Gather around the gas fireplace play a game. Or chill with your bestie in the separate sitting area overlooking lake.

Take approx 80 stairs down your private access to the lake. The lakebed can be sandy or stoney depending on what the lake gives you that day. But it sure is fun to try to find the ever changing sandbars. Even if it's stoney...it's fun to go stone collecting - Lake Huron is a geologists paradise! Just bring some water shoes. The nice thing is, it's not weedy or slimy at all.

EXPERIENCE BAYFIELD
With wooded trails, scenic country vistas, and stunning Lake Huron, Bayfield is a beautiful place to explore no matter the season. Bring your hiking boots and plan a trip during leaf-peeping season for a display of color. Several weeks later, the snow starts to fall and guests can enjoy the quiet of winter and crunch through the
snow in evergreen forests or try out the snowshoe trails on the river flats.
You're just five minutes from White Squirrel Golf Club with winter hiking trails and winter golf for those die-hard links lovers. Explore downtown Bayfield, just two minutes away, browsing the unique boutiques and stopping for a hot coffee at one of the quaint cafes. We're happy to suggest our favorite local spas, wineries and breweries, including Dark Horse Estate Winery with a tasting room. If you prefer hops over vines, Bayfield River Road Brewing has an outdoor tasting room to enjoy the craft brews.

I recently spent a week at Elmslie Oasis: Lake Access! and it was an unforgettable experience. The cottage is in an ideal location, providing easy access to the lake and just a quick drive into town. The peace and serenity of the space allowed me to melt away all my stress and truly be present in the moment.
The hosts were exceptional, with Jennifer in particular taking meticulous care of all our needs. She checked in frequently and did her utmost to ensure everything was as described. Her attention to detail and genuine care made our stay even more enjoyable.
I look forward to returning to this little slice of paradise. Highly recommended!

We enjoyed our time at First on Elmslie! The beach, sunsets and the lake were fantastic!
Our party of 7, fit just fine in the house and the second bathroom, was very handy to have. The hot water was never ending and none of us had a cold shower! I personally used the outdoor shower often and is a great alternative to getting all the sand off! We loved just sitting and watching the lake down below or up top, our evening fires gave us even more to watch! Kitchen was well equipped and everything was easy to find. The washer, dryer and dish washer were an added bonus as we did not need to pack as much clothing.
We had a wonderful time! In the event that we travel to this area again we would certainly stay here, if it were available!

A well equipped and maintained cottage, lovely garden with a great view of the lake. Our host was very helpful with our trip planning and we had such a relaxing and comfortable stay. We like to cook and were very impressed by the large kitchen with everything we needed to make meals every day. Highly recommended.

Had an amazing Mother’s Day getaway with the family and our dog this past weekend. The cottage is nice and spacious for a family, the beach is amazing and would be awesome during the summer. My family and I always travel to Grand Bend/Goderich so the location was perfect, lots to do nearby (within 20-25 min).

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay even though the weather was not the best. The cottage is fully furnished and the layout of kitchen and family room is excellent to spend family time together. There were a number of games for kids and adults that we enjoyed. Access was very easy. The stairs to lake were amazing and safe. Overall an excellent mini family vacation. Thank you Jennifer for the whole experience from start to finish. Strongly recommend.

The cottage mirrored the description and pictures online which is not always the case, so no surprises!
There were 6 of us who have been friends for over 30 years and do a trip in the Fall each year, and this one was in the top trips. There was plenty of room, beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped. We brought food and was able to cook/bbq and just enjoy the back yard overlooking the lake.
The town of Bayfield only a few minutes away, has some great little shops that made our shopping experience fun with everyone ending our day with a sweater or two!
Would recommend this lovely gem to others!

We spent 9 days at this cottage in the winter and had a lovely, relaxing quiet break from the world. Clean, comfortable, well-equipped, beautiful view of the lake and spectacular sunsets, and short drive to Bayfield for provisions and wonderful restaurants. Jennifer and her team provided clear communication and instructions and were responsive and helpful. The big plus for us was the fact that it was pet friendly so we could bring our canine family member. Highly recommend.

We had such a great weekend staying here. Everything we could’ve needed was available in the kitchen once we got our groceries. All spices, pots, pans, oils, sugar, even coffee was provided and it was enough for us as we only stayed for a weekend. The private beach area was perfect for the kids! We set up a little sun shelter, and the kids played in the sand in our own area. The water was too cold as we were there at the beginning of June, but it was still a perfect beach trip for us regardless. The cottage itself was clean, and we enjoyed being there for our stay. We will be back!

We really enjoyed the First on Elmslie Oasis cottage. The lakeview is exceptional, nice backyard with a firepit and deck, and we made good use out of the full kitchen. It was quickly apparent that the cottage has been kept in pristine condition. Every little detail down to outdoor and indoor games, to water toys in the shed/poolhouse were thought of. We can't wait to go back.

Paradise on the shores of Lake Huron
This is a charming, very comfortable cottage, with an absolutely stunning view of the lake. You can hear the waves of Laken Huron crashing!
A central fireplace kept us warm in early April, and lent a wonderful atmosphere to this cozy cottage.
Although we didn’t use it in April, the backyard is very private and has a beautiful fire pit area and gardens.
Definitely a 10! Only about a 5 minute drive to Bayfield for some great trails, shopping … and The Black Dog. Great little Pub in town.
Loved our time here at Elmslie ❤️

Beautiful Bayfield
This spot made for a fun, 4-day getaway in late October. Bayfield was super cute and so was this property. Had a great dinner at Hub on the Docks. Unfortunately it rained quite a bit, but during the weather breaks the view was gorgeous and the cottage itself was clean and cozy. We really enjoyed the firepit area (during a short break in the rain) once we figured out how to get the back lights on.
We were with a family group so it would have been great if there were a larger table for all of us to sit at for dinner. The hightop games table is not really compatible for that. The kitchen was fairly well equipped but confusingly organized. We had to ad-lib for a lack of a large spaghetti pot or strainer. An overall lack of lighting in the living room made it difficult to play games together at night.
The listing was described as pet-friendly, but through on-going communications after we had already put down our deposit we found there were numerous limits to that: "1 small dog" happened to work for our tiny, well-behaved pup, but wouldn't for many families. He wasn't allowed on the furniture, or to be left alone at any time, and always needed to be immediately cleaned up behind, as any evidence of fur or droppings meant additional charges. This made it a hard to relax and was certainly tricky when it came to sight-seeing as we were meant to always have him along, when he would have been much happier napping at home.
There were other policies in place that we also found a bit restrictive - the property is monitored by a surveillance system that apparently includes tracking for noise and number of internet connections. We were told the cameras would be turned off just before and after our stay, but there was no real way to ensure that had been done. The noise monitor had us a bit jumpy with a couple of very well-behaved but typically boisterous teens in tow. We understand that it's probably nerve-wracking to have many strangers on your property, and this was obviously a policy meant to inhibit huge parties. Perhaps this owner has been burned before. But for a small, family-oriented group it all felt rather oppressive, and the language in the orientation documents was full of warnings and condescension (e.g. notes on how to travel with your dog: he/she will probably be scared, bring toys!); it could have been more welcoming and helpful.
All in all, it was a nice stay and we would book here again. Would love to enjoy it in nicer weather!

Lovely Fall Getaway
From the moment we walked into this beautiful cottage with a view of the lake, with the welcome notes and homemade pet treats for my little dog and the care taken with the decor we felt instantly at home. Spotlessly clean with a kitchen that had everything needed and a backyard with stairs leading to a private shoreline view - we loved our short time and would come back again.

What a wonderful place to spend Thanksgiving!
The setting of the cottage was spectacular. The view of the lake and the falling leaves made every moment looking out that window breathtaking. Jennifer responded immediately to any concerns and was such a welcoming host. The cottage was comfortable and well stocked. After a lovely thanksgiving weekend we feel very grateful.

Fall sunset getaway
I was so happy with the kitchen and the stock in the kitchen. The property was clean and had the best view from the back. The fire pit was a big thing for us also. Beds were comfy and rooms were clean roomy and decorated so nicely

Very nice and comfortable cottage
The cottage was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The outside shower is quite private and a wonderful feature. The firepit is well designed and afforded a fun afternoon roasting marshmallows. It's a long stairway down to the lake but it's in excellent condition. The break wall at the lake has maintained a good sandy beach. There is a short but very manageable drop from the break wall into the lake. The lake has a good sandy bottom and is shallow for a reasonable distance from shore.
Jennifer at CottagStays.ca is an outstanding host. Her communication was very responsive and helpful. We had a couple of things that we didn't know how to operate. (our fault) We e-mailed Jennifer and her response was almost immediate. She arrived at the cottage within an hour to help us. She is a delightful person.
We'll be back!

A pleasant place to relax
We enjoyed one week of staying in this cottage. We had access to the lake to swim which was great(be aware there are 60 stairs to the beach so it is not easy for elderly or kids or people with any walking restrictions). The place is very clean and equipped with all you need. The mattresses and pillows are comfy. The place is close drive to Bayfield which is a big plus. You can dine out and do your shopping if required.

Peaceful, Beautiful Paradise!
What an amazing, beautiful and well equipped cottage this is! Elmslie Oasis left nothing to be desired.
The rooms are well appointed and beds are very comfortable. The kitchen is spacious and a pleasure to work in. It has more than you can ask for - the supply of crockery, cutlery, salad bowls, large server platters, non stick utensils, and much, much more. Even the laundry and dishwasher detergents were quite generously supplied. It feels more like a fully stocked home vs. a rental place.
The BBQ was in perfect, clean condition. The backyard is very pretty. The lake is absolutely gorgeous - We got to experience both strong waves to enjoy and swim in the calm waters. Its so private, only couple of other families were there from the cottages on either side of Elmslie. The permanent sand bank structure that is built on the beach is great, so that the beach is not lost.
The cottage even has a lovely outdoor shower with an enclosure! Very spacious! And has both hot/cold water and large hooks on the side and the door to hang towels and change of clothes!
Jennifer and Lea were wonderful - they took such great care of us, and ensured all our questions were answered. They even called us the next day after arrival, proactively, just to make sure we had everything we needed! Service at its best!
After many years, we found a cottage that was so lovely and gave us wonderful memories. We will return, regularly to Elmslie Oasis, a true Oasis! Thank you, Team CottageStays, and thank you, the Owners of Elmslie Oasis for letting us share your beautiful home!

Relaxing/Comfortable/Lovely place to vacation.
The house is incredibly furnished and provides a home away from home. The kitchen is big, bright, and fun to cook in. Bedrooms are comfortable and large. Bathrooms are clean, bright, and fully furnished. The living room is big and comfortable with large chairs and a comfortable couch. Outside premises are perfect for family gatherings....chairs/table/firepit and the beach is excellent for swimming and relaxing.
The gardens make the place cozy and add a beautiful natural touch to the cottage.
The best part was the incredible Lake Huron sunsets which we could watch on the beach or in our chairs by the house.

The best, forget the rest!
We have been renting cottages in the Bayfield area for many years and without a doubt, First on Elmslie Oasis is the best experience we have ever had!!! The cottage is beautifully decorated and accented, and the design and resulting views from the main living space and master bedroom are second to none!!! Spectacular or as my 8 year old son put it, this place is gorgeous!!! And trust me, that’s never happened before…my wife’s favorite “accessory” was the outdoor shower! Nice touch! The fire pit, beach and world famous sunsets were awesome!
The bike ride into town was perfect and we enjoyed the front and back patios at The Albion, as well as The Black Dog (but kudos to the Albion, for understanding what a benefit it is to put your name on the list and get a text when your table is ready - a huge benefit to the retailers of the town as you can then stroll about instead of waiting in line - get with the program, Black Doggie!!! Your days are numbered if you continue to be pompous asses!!!).
And the welcome gift of chocolate bark (and doggie treats for our Golden) was a perfect touch!
We can not wait to return!!! Thanks!
