This spacious full duplex property (with two, two-bedroom units) is less than a 10 minute walk to downtown Royal Oak and all of its amenities, from some of the best breweries and coffee shops in Michigan to tons of nighttime fun. The windows and kitchen are a little older (as you can see from pictures), but everything is functional and it's very cozy!
Enjoy high-speed WiFi, Amazon Fire smart TV, French Roast coffee pods + Keurig, Memory Foam beds, fresh linens, in-suite washer/dryer, Solimo bath products, and a fully-equipped kitchen. Message us for anything we can help with!

Our home is a duplex with a few steps up to the common door. Once inside, there are two separate unit doors. One is just to the left of the common door, and one is located up a full set of stairs. The ground floor unit has 2 bedrooms and a bathroom along with the kitchen and living room. The second floor unit also features 2 bedrooms and a bathroom along with the kitchen and living room. Both units can access the basement laundry area as well.

99% of guests are visiting family, friends, on a work trip, or just exploring town. For anyone who intends to have a party, disturb the neighborhood, or in any other way violate our house rules, we want to make clear that:
We have a zero-tolerance policy for this. We have noise sensors that alert us if decibel levels pass a certain threshold, and we have unfortunately had to ask guests to leave for violating this rule. Being a good neighbor of the city and the block we are on is very important to us.
We have sensors to detect indoor smoking (nicotine and marijuana) and have a fine and possible removal for violations.
There is a $750 security deposit authorization hold when your reservation begins. We will charge $300 for the first smoking violation (with possible removal from the unit), and the remaining $450 for the second smoking violation (with guaranteed removal from the unit).

Around the rear of the house on Vester Alley, we have two parking spots on grass (and signs to designate where they are). There's no free street parking on our block (it's permit only) but if you are ok walking, all of our surrounding blocks do have it, so that's available if the two spaces in the back aren't enough!

The house is fully accessible via YALE smart locks at the front door and on each unit door. To access the property and units inside, enter the code we provide in your reservation check-in instructions, and press the CHECK to unlock.
When leaving, enter that same code followed by the CHECK mark and the deadbolt will close. The locks will also auto-lock after one minute if you forget to lock.

We are available whenever you need! Please feel free to reach out via the app or website you booked on with any specific questions. For any health emergencies, please dial 911. If a system malfunctions (i.e., hot water not functioning or a light has gone out), please send us a message on the app or website you booked on and we will be sure to address it in as short a time as possible (we usually respond within a few minutes). We also have handymen, electricians, plumbers, and landscapers with whom we work, so for any extenuating circumstances, we will happily bring them out to solve your issues post haste!
Extra Sleeping Arrangements

Air Mattress: Designed for camping, our air mattress is extra-sturdy and provides a wonderful sleeping space for two. To inflate, please plug in the pump and wait for it to charge. Once the light on it is solid (not blinking), unplug the pump, insert the end into the air mattress, and flip the switch to inflate.
Pullout Couches: Underneath the horizontal seat you will find two fabric handles. Pull them out from under the couch and raise up the extra mattress section from underneath the couch. Remove the couch pillows to make space for two!
Extra Linens: Underneath the chaise section of the couch you will find four bath towels and four hand towels, four pillows, a comforter, and extra sets of sheets and pillowcases for the couch and air mattress.

We love hosting folks, so we want to be as respectful as possible to our wonderful neighbors. Since we’re in a quiet neighborhood, we do ask that you follow a few easy rules:
No parties & no overnight guests without prior approval. If you’re looking to host a small gathering, that’s probably ok but please let us know.
Respectful, quiet volume, particularly after 9 pm.
Please leave your shoes at the door.
No pets please, as many of the guests we host have allergies.
No smoking - also, don't discard your cigarettes in house trash cans. They get stinky.
If you break or damage something, please let us know and arrange for its replacement or repair.
Do not leave any food out that will attract uninvited pests. Our home is pest-free and we intend to keep it that way with your help.

For public transportation, we are very close to some easy-to-access bus stops. Two blocks away, you'll find the 730 & 740 bus stops right at 11 Mile Rd & Mason Ct. This route will take you east / west along 11 Mile Rd, allowing access to lots of north/south thoroughfares. In particular, you can take the 730 & 740 bus routes to the Royal Oak Transit Center, where lots of major bus routes run through and access to DTW International Airport, downtown Detroit, and other areas of Oakland County are easily accessible!
In terms of access to Royal Oak, we are a mere 5 minute walk from downtown and there are lots of Ubers/Lyfts available at all times.
