About this house rental
A 19th century house in the centre of medieval Limassol town. Built with charm along the traditional architectural arrangement around a central courtyard. The kitchen, dining room, bedrooms and shower/WC all open directly onto the courtyard. There is a further reception room and a large sitting room. The master bedroom has its own separate en suite shower room/WC.
The property has high ceilings and is furnished tastefully in line with its age. Considering its central location this is an exceptionally large 3 bedroom house with 7 spacious rooms in total.
Golf Information: There are only 3 18-hole golf courses in Cyprus and all 3 are close (about 30 minutes drive). They have a good reputation and are popular by professional golfers. The Tsada and Secret Valley golf courses are relatively easy even for beginners, the Aphrodite Hills golf course in situated on high hills over looking the Mediterranean sea and therefore tends to be windy. Although spectacular, the course can be difficult even for an experienced golfer.
Skiing Information: Surprising to most, Cyprus does get cold in winter, although it is extremely rare for the temperatures to drop below 10 deg C in Limassol. Depending on the weather, the Troodos mountains are often covered with snow during this period. Ski rental is relatively inexpensive. Driving to the ski slopes from our property takes about 75 minutes.

Limmasol Old Town
Ideal location for walking to the pier, shops and restaurants. Landlord was very friendly and helpful. Very spacious bedrooms and living space.

What I had expected, interesting, convenient, and overall happy with the experience.
What I had expected, interesting, convenient, and overall happy with the experience.
Every we needed for self-catering was there. Cooling Fan in kitchen was dodgy, and shower could have been better, but these are small things so otherwise very happy, and the selection of challenging jigsaw puzzles filled the hours when everyone else was having a siesta!

We spent a week here and had a great time. We stayed in both Limassol and Paphos, but in retrospect we could have stayed in Yiaya's house for the duration of the stay. The area is very Cyrpriot and local, and you are very close to all the good shops, a daily market and excellent restaurants. Traffic is quite dense in this part of town, and the property does open up to a busy road, but this wasn't troublesome. Neither were the stray cats. Parking a bit further down the road for about 3 Euro per day if you have a hire car. The property was really clean, and we even got a bottle of house red on arrival, named after the owner Stephanos. All in all we were really pleased with our first stay in Cyprus, and can recommend this location to others.

Old house in a busy street surrounded by locals, businesses and shops. Easy walking to the marina and market area. Very spacious with everything you need, which was great with two teenagers in tow. Communication with the owner was very speedy and his very friendly and helpful aunt met us when we got there and when we left. The family could not have been more helpful with questions we had. The furniture is a little old-fashioned but in keeping with the house and is perfectly serviceable - the kitchen is well equipped and there were loads of maps and leaflets available for us to use. Very good cinema just round the corner too. We had a great week and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to be in the non-tourist part of town.

If you want to experience Cypriot life then this is the place to stay. The house over 200 years old and is 10 minutes walk from some lovely old town restuarants, 15 mins from the sea and 25 mins walk to the nearest stretch of beach. We loved it and hope to stay again. The number 30 bus is 10 mins walk - 1 euro per trip - and goes straight to the the
tourist district (should you want to venture into pizza hut/ nandos / starbucks/ haagen daaz land). We had some lovely meals by the castle - try carob mills end - (7 mins walk) and also at the Londa Hotel (tourist area) & farmagusta nautical club (traditonal and rustic). Say Hi to the chap in the printers next dooor - he's very welcoming and helpful.
Finally, the house if full of old charms - family lace, and beautiful glasswear. My old criticism is the bed in the master bedroom is rather hard and squeaky, n ot a problem as plenty of space so we swapped rooms; but on the whole it's a well kept secret, owned by a lovely family - lovely!

Yiayia's house is the perfect place for you stay in Limassol. Around the house there are many coffee places, and shops, and you can walk to the harbour and see side, even to the nearest beaches.
The house itself has everything you need, and is nicely decorated.
We stayed there with our two yound kids, who loved to play in the courtyard. We found everything as advertised on the webpage.
and had a wonderful time for the two weeks that we spent there.
What should be noted (and for some people this may be most important) is that we were given the phone number of the owners aunt (who lives close to the house), and could call her any time in case of any problem.

I am Cypriot but moved to London in my youth. I have family living in Limassol hence I visit often with my husband and 3 kids. In the past we stayed either in a hotel or with family but this time we decided to rent this house to use as a base. I cannot put in writing how much better this was:
1.The house is absolutely beautiful. It brought back childhood memories when Limassol used not to be a concrete jungle. Very few traditional houses still stand and this house is a prime example. It must have been built for a well-off family of the time as it has 3 bedrooms, 3 reception rooms, a large kitchen and 2 WCs. The owners have resisted the temptation of converting the reception rooms into further bedrooms
2.The house belongs to the same family for 60 years. They have restored it with great pride and obvious sentiment. It retains an atmosphere of a bygone era without a compromise on mod cons (eg the property is air conditioned)
3.Little gestures such as a complimentary bottle of wine made by another member of the same family (called Monolithos winery for those who are interested!) wer left out for us. We ended up purchasing a whole box of wine to cover our stay and to give as gifts.
4.The owners set out a cot for my 18 month old son at no extra cost. The washing machine proved useful for washing his clothes
5.The central courtyard is an absolute gem. We sat out for breakfast every day before heading off.
6.My daughter used the terrace sun-bed to get sun burnt
7.The location is ideal for those who want to combine proximity to the beach with access to decent restaurants/bars, museums and cultural venues. We had a myriad of options to eat out within walking distance and hence could enjoy a tipple without the concern of a drive back
8.It is also a short walk to the market where I sent my husband shopping at dawn for breakfast!
9.Returning here daily we felt as if we were coming ‘home’. The kids used the TV to hook up their Nintendo and me and my husband got some time to ourselves.
10.Finally the price worked out in total at much less than I have ever paid for a half decent hotel. Using the kitchen for simple meals saved us a fortune on eating out
I know I have gone on and on, but I really had such a good time I felt compelled to write this review especially after being asked to do so by the owners. I could go on for more but I think I will spare you the pain! And yes, I will definitely be staying here again!

We had an amazing time here: on the flight home we thought to ourselves: we have been to Cyprus many times before but only now did we actually experience Cypriot life.
The location of the house is not in a touristy area and yet we blended in perfectly everywhere. After the first two days people in the local shops were greeting us as regulars. We spent our time walking around the old city, walking to the beach (not far at all) and then rented a car to drive to other places.
The house in extremely well appointed. It is pretty obvious that the whole house has been refurbished recently. Complete kitchen, great baths and good beds. All spotless.
