Welcome to a new favorite vacation home for your visit to the Black Hills - Aspen Ski Chalet! This beautiful rustic ski themed cabin is perfectly located just a mile from Recreational Springs resort where you can find ATV and Snowmobile rentals and connect up to the local trail system easily from there. It's found just outside the entrance of the old Deer Mountain Ski resort, and very conveniently located in the heart of the Northern Black Hills recreational corridor. Spearfish Canyon with it's amazing hiking, biking, and waterfalls is less than a 15 minute drive away, the base of Terry Peak and local skiing is only 15 minutes away, and you can be visiting Mount Rushmore, Keystone, Custer State Park, and Sylvan lake in all under an hour's drive. There are so many things to see and do in the area, and Aspen Ski Chalet is perfectly located to enjoy them all!

This cabin is well decorated and furnished with everything you need for a relaxing vacation. The downstairs family room is a great place to entertain. We rented three cabins together (34 family members) that accommodated us perfectly. close to Deadwood and many other attractions.

We were at Aspen Ski Chalet for a Celebration of Life Ceremony. The Chalet was perfect for the large gathering and we were able to set up a slideshow. The decor is creative and interesting. We loved the rocking chair for two! The kitchen was great, but if you want a night out, there is a hamburger joint just down the road. I wouldn't hesitate to book the Chalet again.

Overall it's a decent cabin with a nice view. Needs updating though, and deeper clean. Directions were harder than they needed to be to find the cabin. I found an easier way on asphalt with only 1 turn.

Great location. Property isn't fancy, but fit our needs. The hot tub was not working properly the first day of our stay but we texted them and they sent someone up. Overall, nice cabin.

Decent cabin. Our family had a nice time. The beds were horrible, furniture is out dated. Kitchen was well stocked. The hot tub was enjoyable. This time of year, dead bugs are normal. Just wished the cleaning personal would have refreshed the cabin before we arrived. I had to sweep and vacuum before the kids could play on the floor.

Great access to trails and Lead and Cheyenne Crossing. Communication with owner was spot on. A few things needed addressed and he fixed them immediately ,so I appreciated the response and addressing my concerns so quickly. Deck is great for gathering BBQ grill is awesome (didn’t use it but is cool to see) and hot tub was nice to use after all day in the trails. Had a mama deer and fawn each morning and evening hang around the property. Kitchen is fully stocked with utensils and dishes/pots pans. Each room has a TV with a DVD player. directv in main living area upstairs. Down stairs has rec room, didn’t use it, but has a small pool table and foosball table, perfect size for kids to play on if you bring little ones. Bar downstairs and nice seating with bedroom and HUGE bed. second bedroom with bunk beds. Bathroom downstairs Upstairs has 2 bedrooms one with bathroom in the room and bathroom off the hallway. Plenty of space and seating in living room and dining area Kitchen has plenty of room to move around and big island for prepping and cooking

The Aspen Ski Chalet is conveniently located near ATV trails and our group had a good time. Over all the house was fine but could use a good cleaning. The door handles didn't function properly and our first night we had to go out to eat as there was no water. Once the water was back on the upstairs main bathroom shower still didn't work. This cabin also does not have WiFi. The management was fairly responsive when we couldn't get the front door unlocked and realized there was no water.

The cabin was beautiful! There were 7 of us and it was a perfect fit. Its great having the pool table, Foosball and the hot tub. Plenty of entertainment options. Its vlose to everything and the neighborhood is beautiful. The only suggestion i have for the cabin is new shower heads in the bathrooms. But certainly not a big issue. My future daughter in law left her engagement ring there and didn't realize it until we were 2 hours away. I was able to get in contact with someone immediately. They reached the cleaning crew and were able to locate the ring. They gave us the option to come back or get it shipped. We chose to ship it and received it within 3 days. So excellent to work with! We would definitely stay again.

It was a great location for staying in the Black Hills. Close to Terry peak and great for all snow related fun! We had a party of 10. Ages 3 to 55. Number of bathrooms and beds was more than adequate. A great place to enjoy quality time with family and friends.

The location of this cabin was great, it was nice that there was a door separating upstairs and downstairs so the kids could be playing and listening to music downstairs and the adults could talk and play games. The view was also beautiful. If you are coming in the winter you MUST have 4 wheel drive to get in to the driveway, it’s very steep. Our only complaint was that there were LOTS of dead flies, a decent layer of dust in the master bath and what appeared to be blood stains or spots on some white sheets, luckily, there were clean sheets in the dryer so, it was an easy fix, but still gross. We only had one question during our stay and it was answered in a timely manner, overall we were happy with our stay, just a few housekeeping things that could definitely be addressed in the future.

There was plenty to do for family members that just wanted to relax in the cabin such as pool, foosball, hot tub and just to watch the wildlife. Owners/managers answered in a very timely manner. Some family members wished there was WiFi. Already starting to plan our next vacation

We found the property to be great for the size of our group. We had no complaints on the beds. Check in & out was easy. Communication with property manager was great and always a quick response. The kids really enjoyed the downstairs accommodations with pool table, games and TV. One word of advice is be sure to take all necessary supplies with you including toilet paper, dishwasher and laundry soap. While there are some supplies there it's limited if you have a large group. No A/C. Overall we had a great 5 day stay.

Overall a very nice stay, great property and very quiet. my only complaint was that the water pressure was very low, can only use one shower at a time and only when nothing else is running like the dishwasher or washing machine, just a few small maintenance issues with the property but otherwise a great stay.

Nice location but needs updating & cleaning
The beds were all uncomfortable and need new mattresses. The bottom bunk is a worn out mattress with no box spring. There is actually a piece of sheetrock under the mattress and a paint can between the floor and sheetrock for support.
The entire unit needs a very deep cleaning as the carpet looks dingy and there are dust bunnies on walls.

Perfect location
If you are looking for a good size house close to UTV trails and town, this is it. If you want a modern updated house, look elsewhere.
This was perfect for our group. We were only there in the evenings after a day of riding the trails.
The good: property management answered immediately when I called to see who we contact when the power went out. Location was perfect. Plenty of parking for our trucks, 4 sxs, and 2 trailers.
The less good: showers needed updated, water barely trickled out at times. Towels and linens were mismatched and old.
Overall we were pleased.

The house is very clean and accommodated everyone as shown. There are some steep stairs to climb to the second level so be aware if you have an elderly person or younger children. They do have a door at the top of the stairs to keep the little ones upstairs. Otherwise our stay was great!

Our group had a great stay at the Aspen Ski Chalet. We found the property to be exactly what we expected. It was clean, well maintained and they were very responsive when we reached out to them. We enjoyed a weekend of skiing, and Terry Peak was just a quick drive away. The kids also had a blast sledding right at the cabin.

Cabin is very peaceful and quite, we stayed mid Oct so there weren't a lot of people around. So it was relaxing. With that being said there were dead flies all around, cabin could use a little TLC with some minor repairs. If you are looking for a 4 bedroom rental I would not suggest this one. The bedroom with the bunk beds is not a place to sleep due to the bottom bed being broken and being held up with 2 coffee cans. The top bunk so flimsy that my teenager was worried he would fall through the bunk. What we assumed was the master bedroom has no bathroom attached, needless to say our family of 5 had to switch up the sleeping arrangements for the second night so everyone was comfortable. The snow was removed from the driveway but not from the steps going to the second level of the cabin or the top deck.

I loved the location the cabin was beautiful but too many stairs to get to the main level and when we got there and the next morning their were alot of dead moths on the floors and the last 2 days we killed like a dozen spiders in 2 of the rooms. We rented during a week that ended up being in the 100's and upper 90's for multiple days. To our surprise the rental had no ac. I understand that for a winter, spring, or fall rental, but if you are going to rent in the heat of summer - you should have ac or make it abundantly clear that there is no ac. You can imagine our days in the 90 and 100 degree weather. You're wanting to have a nice experience when you've paid a lot for a rental, and it's completely miserable. I called and no one answered and the voicemail box was full. I received a text and she said she doesn't have ac at her home either, which didn't help our situation. She said there were only a few days that the weather is hot so I asked for a discount if it's only a few days and it happened to fall during our week - no response. In addition, the lawn was not mowed, there were not adequate fans, the shower head in the master had three jets of water shooting in different directions because 90% were clogged. Everyone complained about it so I had to try to clean the shower head with a dental flosser pick to get a reasonable amount of flow. Then we grilled our food for 5 minutes and found both propane tanks were empty. I had to run to town to fill a tank so we could get dinner finished for a house full of hot and hungry people. Our contact offered to come with propane in 20 minutes or so but I explained we needed to get dinner finished and didn't have time to wait. I explained I got and paid for propane, and she said "OK - thanks," no offer to refund my expense or anything. We spent a fair amount of time and expense purchasing fans, putting them together, and buying propane. After we left, I inquired about a discount for the experience and reimbursement for the propane to which I received no response. That was over two days ago. I am completely disappointed and would not recommend this unit or any of the units under this management!

The property is good over all- the amenities listed are accurate and very nice to have. the key issue is som eo fteh basics. the house does not have A-C - that is clear in the listing, but sevearl of the windows cant be opened as the handles are all broken off and dont work -just laying in the window sill. fire detectors broken off from teh ceiling and just hanging by a wire. The beds are TERRIBLE, The mattresses are so old they have collapsed and loose pieces of foam have been placed on the tops instead of getting new mattresses. Wtih that said we did enjoy the location very much (except when the family reunion came in across the street and had the 30+ person party outside all night) and the pool table and hot tub are great amenities. if the house get some basic maintnenance and new mattresses this would be a top type location.

Property was pretty good overall but it could do with some minor repairs. Showerhead was absolutely horrible in the master bathroom and not so great in the other showers. Also, without having A/C it would have been nice to open all the windows but some of the cranks didnt work. But all this could be easily fixed.
