My family and i traveled to the area to explore the local waterfalls and it didn't disappoint. The house was in a great location and was very quiet. Everything that was promised was delivered.
We also went to the local marina and rented a pontoon for the day, the people there were very nice and accommodating. Wonderful people and place!!!!!!

Really liked the way this old cabin was updated. Kept the old world charm with the modern amenities. Nice Job!

My family stays in about 4-5 vacation rentals a year and always enjoy our stays. In fact, I have never left a negative review but felt like I needed to warn others. We have stayed in this house in the past and enjoyed it but this time was different. We were supposed to stay 2 nights over the holidays during a very cold spell. The first night was fine but we woke up and it was 57 degrees in the house. After engaging emergency heat the temperature continued to fall. Also the pipes completely froze even with the water running on all the faucets! When we decided to leave about 10
am the first day, the temperature had fallen to 51 degrees in the house. I understand weather events are not the fault of the owner, but heat is a basic necessity. We were in town visiting relatives and they all had warm homes and running water. We had to move to a hotel and the rental company refused a refund for the night we couldn’t stay in the house. My husband had to return to the house a couple hours after we left to look for something and it was so cold in the house he could see his breath! It was a major disruption to our holiday events.

We had a nice fall break getaway with the family and enjoyed nearby hiking. We had a few issues but communicated them to management for repair/fixing.

My wife and enjoyed the serenity we were able to experience. We really enjoyed having breakfast on the back porch sun room.

The family, including dogs, had a great time at nearby dog friendly hikes. Thank you Ms Robin!

Beautiful Cabin in Baxter
We absolutely loved our stay at this amazing cabin! It felt secluded but still close to the interstate. You can tell the cabin is cared for because it was spotless when we arrived. The only thing we would have liked the cabin to have would be curtains in the downstairs bedroom. There wasn’t any privacy due to that. Other than that one thing, our stay was perfect. I highly recommend!

We absolutely loved this Cabin! The kitchen is phenomenal.
The pictures in the listing really don't do this place justice. There's a room designated just for dogs that is perfect and we instantly regretted not bringing our dog with us but, will next time because we will definitely be back again soon! We had plenty of Hot water and the bathroom is large. The only thing that we didn't care for was the Clawfoot tub/shower. A walk-in shower would actually make that Cabin completely Perfect! My husband stated multiple times during our stay, that he wanted to buy that house! That's no somehting he says often!

We enjoyed the cabin, the atmosphere, and the state park near by! Perfect place to get some peace and quite and spend some time with family. Wish we could have stayed longer! The porches and sun rooms where my favorite rooms. I’d say the bathroom rugs need to be replaced but all and all it was a wonderful stay. Had everything we needed for what we wanted to do while we enjoyed our stay in the beautiful state of Tennessee.
Thanks for hosting! Would definitely recommend to a friend.

We had a great time gathering with family, the home was very roomy! I loved the dining and kitchen area. We spent most of the time at the farm house table talking and putting together puzzles that where there. We found some really good restaurants downtown as well.

I've never stayed in a cabin built using materials from the 1800's, so I didn't know what to expect. However, we were pleasantly surprised to see that the cabin is exactly as shown in the listing photos! Athough it looks quite "rustic" it has the comfort and feel of any high-quality modern home with nearly all the amenities you'd expect. The only thing missing was a dishwasher but the kitchen sink layout is well suited for hand washing dishes. The kitchen is the well appointed with all the utensils and things you'll need to prepare great meals. The combo "microwave/air fryer/roaster" will come in handy when reheating those meals. We made baked potatoes in it which were so delicious - no soggy microwave food here! The Wi-Fi is fast, I had several Zoom meetings with no buffering or freezing. There is a TV in the dining room area, which has Netflix and all streaming services, however we never used it. Instead, we spent our time exploring the areas natural resources and attractions. Burgess Falls and Cummins Falls state parks are each within a 20-minute drive. Also historic downtown Cookeville is a great place to go for dinner and drinks. We didn't want to leave this beautiful cabin oasis when it was time to go! But the hosts have made checkout easy - you don't have to deal with removing linens and putting towels in the laundry. Just take out the trash and you're out the door! Whether you're on a staycation weekend from Nashville or an international tourist, this property is the best accommodation the Cookeville area has to offer in terms of value, comfort and location.

Great property! Love the history of the cabin. We enjoyed the quiet and not being super close to another rental (common with other rentals). We had a boat with us and this property was really convenient given the circular driveway and area to park the boat. We weren't expecting all of this and it was a great surprise. The Cookeville Boat ramp was not busy at all when we launched Thursday evening. We were in pretty quickly and we didn't have to wait long to take out.
We had a pretty hard rain storm and the roof started leaking, but this wasn't over any sleeping areas and "Rick" was quick to try to fix it - including climbing on the roof by himself to do so! Thanks for the wonderful stay, we would recommend this property.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hyland Woods. It provided us with a comfortable, well-appointed and tastefully decorated log home that had a rich history and stories to tell. In addition, Hyland Woods served as an ideal base as we explored some of Tennessee's most beautiful state parks. Cummins Falls, Burgess Falls, and Rock Island supplied us with some much needed nature therapy. The hiking, waterfalls, and spring flowers were all spectacular. At Hyland Woods, we enjoyed watching a wild turkey hen visit on a couple of occasions, listening to beautiful bird calls from the woods behind the house, sitting and listening to the quiet, and enjoying a delicious catfish dinner at the Lighthouse at the Cookeville Boat Dock less than 2 miles from the house. Hyland Woods provided us with a wonderful and much-needed getaway!

Great stay in a unique log cabin. The cabin used to be a barn, and had been moved and converted to this log cabin vacation home. Very cool. Nice and peaceful location. Great amenities, including; barbeque, fire pit, equipped kitchen, huge kitchen table, expansive wrap around deck with plenty of seating, and rocking chairs on the covered front porch. The cabin is dog friendly, and comes with a dog bed and toys for the pups! Since the location is remote, there is no cell service, but the cabin has internet, and wireless so its easy to stay connected. All in all, a nice peaceful retreat!
