i would definitely not return to this property. it was not clean - dusty, the kitchen drawers were dirty, the coffee pot had not been cleaned, the towels were musty smelling and window blinds broken and window sills in poor state.
The description of a fully stocked kitchen is deceiving as there are very few pots and pans (nothing to boil pasta in), limited forks and only one serving bowl. Also the pictures were deceiving as there really is nowhere to sit as the bench in the kitchen has stools that are too high to be used.
It was dirty, run down and ill equipped.

Overall, we enjoyed staying here. Lots of bedrooms and very close to downtown. For the amount of bedrooms though, there could have been more towels in the bathrooms.

Unfortunately we had to leave early due to a family emergency, but honestly would not have stayed overnight there anyway. Almost every blind had broken pieces, there was dust everywhere, mold in the main shower. It's in a very sketchy part of town and we were shocked when we looked up the criminal activitiy in the area since Dec 2022, something we should have done prior to booking. The person staying in the apartment below was blaring music so loud we couldn't hear each other talk when walking up the steps. None of my family felt safe.

We had some confusion with the heating system. But once that was worked out (which was easy) we were pleasantly pleased with the apartment. 4 bdr 2 bath more than enough space for the 3 of us. We would have been hard pressed to find a motel that would even come close. The price was quite fair and would reserve again in the future.
Thank you for a pleasant stay.

This apartment is close to the Drake Campus, which made it convenient for visiting. It’s spacious and great value for a family.

Great Economical Choice
We were in town for a gymnastics meet and had to go to the Convention Center. Great proximity to downtown, five minutes is all. The overall condition of the unit was good. It is old but has been recently updated. We were there in summer and some of the back rooms got a little warm, but not too bad. The owner communicated with us very well and was friendly.

Weekend Getaway
It was a cute little property! Perfect for the weekend we had planned for downtown Des Moines. The only suggestion I would have is to put a full-length mirror (or any size, really) somewhere in the apartment since there aren't as many bathrooms as bedrooms and getting 8 people ready was a little bit of a struggle. Other than that- it was great for us!

Nice place
We had a good stay but someone was trying to get in a door that was to this upstairs unit (which was not the main door) in the middle of the night. We didn’t even know there was another way in and my friend that was sleeping in the bedroom next to it was pretty scared. Not sure what the deal was but it was weird.

Nice property, internet was out.
The property was nice and clean, and working with the owner was also very good. Only issue was that due to weather the internet was out and as my family was going to be working a few days while staying there we had to find other accommodations. The owner worked with us and communicated about the status during the transition.

Not horrible but not amazing
Property was clean, owner was very responsive. Heat and air were kind of a pain in the butt because there was the main furnace that we weren’t supposed to adjust and then wall units with remotes. Back of unit was extremely hot but the front was cold. No dishwasher or washer/dryer in unit nor on premises. Bedding and pillows were old. Appliances need updated. There was an wifi outage due to the provider, it was not due to an issue at the property. Had an issue with the door handle but was fixed. Host was very, very nice and responsive to all needs. For the price the property was fine. We probably just wouldn’t choose to stay again because of our preferences. It is a nice little property though. All and all it wasn’t a horrible stay.

Family Christmas
Property was clean and centrally located in the Des Moines area. Very roomy for the 8 of us who stayed. We would stay again when in the area.

Great location and price
My family really enjoyed our stay. Property was clean upon arrival. The location was perfect in the middle of everything. Neighborhood might not be the best but we had no trouble, walked the dog every night late and was fine. Beds were maybe a bit hard but I like a firm mattress so I slept great. It is an old house so there are some imperfections and that should be expected. Some gaps around the door allowed cold air into the apartment so we turned the heat up. Takes a little bit to get hot water but had plenty for showers. Plenty of parking. It is upstairs but that wasn't an issue for us. My only complaint is the WiFi was intermittent and was slow when we had it. TVs are all WiFi reliant so made it a little difficult to watch at times.
Overall for the price we liked it and would stay again. Ordered pizza from Dough and Co. Close by and would highly recommend.

Family wedding stay
The property is just as it states. Tobias was very helpful when we had a plumbing issue and it was taken care of immediately. We enjoyed being so close to everything we need to be at. We will be back !

Loud tenants
The stay was great until the last night. There was a group downstairs that had a party and was loud and could not sleep.

Lots of space
This property had enough space for all 8 of us. This is an older home and the layout of the unit was interesting. A couple of the bedrooms were very small and one was windowless. The bedroom furniture was in rough shape. The dressers were missing hardware or drawers broken. The mattresses were very uncomfortable. We found 2 of the back doors unlocked upon arrival. The home was decorated tastefully but could use a deep cleaning. We had to rewash the dishes before using because of stains and dirt. We enjoyed our trip to the area but would probably stay at a more updated home in a better part of town next time.

Bachelor Weekend
My buddies and I were very pleased with the Air B&B! Great location, easy check-in and check-out process, and overall a very comfortable space! We would definitely recommend this place to others.

Girls weekend
We loved how close to the downtown area this was. The location of the property has to grow on us a bit- when you originally drive into the neighborhood it wasn’t what we anticipated - however after realizing we would be safe in the area we quickly adjusted. We did the big, Saturday farmers market and the IA brewery tour which was fun! We also went to raccoon river beach for some relaxing time- this beach was a nice one!

An unmitigated disappointment--checked out after first night!
Amenities not as advertised. Broken bathroom vanity. Broken bedroom dresser. Air Conditioner leaked onto 1/3 of the “L” shaped sofa rendering a large portion of it unusable. Very limited TP, no Kleenex, napkins, ½ roll paper towel, 5 plastic forks. 6 plastic spoons, but lots of plastic knives. (all simple amenities every VRBO I’ve stayed in supplied). No coffee filters, coffee maker didn’t work unless you help the top down, no toaster, no kitchen towels, 2 + 2 ½ rolls of TP for 8-9 people. Not enough bathroom towels for all guests. No clothes hangers, no bed lamps/night stands (none pictured and none brought in after photos taken), two tiny closets (but again no hangers), wall paper peeling off the walls in sheets, dirty sponge in kitchen sink, small toaster they brought next morning set off the smoke alarm (bread barely toasted—I can’t image what using the stove might have done). No coffee table to put drinks so everyone had to put on the floor or hold them, and god forbid you spilled something as no towels to wipe up (and no washer/dryer). Blinds in master bedroom broken so couldn't close. After I complained they did bring things by the next morning, but my husband was so pissed off we left. Air conditioning but be warned you need to leave bedroom doors open (one didn't latch anyway), to get any of the air. Keyless entry was ridiculous--it took us over 20 tries to finally get it, despite instructions to pull door toward you. You had to do the same thing to get it to latch closed. Took just the right amount of push/pull to get it to work. I'd actually typed up four pages of our issues in detail but this link didn't provide enough room for it all. I requested a refund for our rental as we vacated after the first night. I've not heard back from "Luxury Rental Management as of 2:45 pm PST on June 29. I'd requested one the morning we vacated (June 25) after one night of the four we'd rented for, and again this morning.
