We loved the location and enjoyed the beach. Having the 3 decks was awesome! It was so relaxing and laid back. We were disappointed in the unit though. It was very dusty and dirty and I spent the first several hours of my vacation cleaning. I was surprised at how outdated it was…I didn’t think the pics reflected that. We cook in a lot and the stove was not working properly. Maintenance responded the 2nd day, but needed to call an appliance repairman. It was not fixed while we were there. The first night, there were some bugs on the bed in the master and on one of the sofas. Needless to say, they had a feast on me. The exterminator was not certain what the bugs were. He sprayed and that seemed to take care of them. We ended up having a great time, but the beginning of our stay could have been much better. The rental company was responsive and helpful.

The location is beautiful, but the home needs a lot of work. The home isn't level, the front of the home (street facing) is higher than the back of the home. You feel like you're in a clown house while standing in the kitchen because it's so slanted. The tubs don't drain properly, not because they are clogged, but because the house is slanted so much. The kitchen is tiny and is not stocked well at all, I had to go purchase things to cook on because the cookware is so old. Beds were very comfortable, but the furniture on the main level need to be replaced. This home has a lot of potential, but really needs some love, especially for what they are charging.

Gorgeous view. You are literally almost sitting in the ocean. The house is in need of updating: The foundation has dropped and the house sways. Driveway needs gravel or make sure you have front wheel or 4 wheel drive.

The island is quiet and was not overcrowded despite it being 4th of July week. The driveway is sand so we got our vehicle stuck when we back up to offload the groceries. A neighbor across the street noticed us and pulled us out after saying he's had to do it to numerous guests. The water pressure was down to a trickle in the showers over the weekend but we were told that was typical (just unexpected). It returned to a more normal state after the weekend. The stairs inside the house are somewhat narrow and short which was not an issue for us or my kids but was a slight struggle for my older parents. We ordered groceries for pick up at Food Lion which is not a bad drive from the property. The house is otherwise a very typical beach house. Plenty of dishes, cups, utensils and cookware. We loved having easy access to move from the beach to the house and back again. It was an overall lovely week and get away.

The beach house is slumped into the ocean, you have to walk "uphill" in the living room / kitchen and on the first floor where there is two bedrooms - to the point the cabinets stay open (they are falling apart anyways). The first floor bathroom is super dated. There is no gravel or concrete and everything is sand so you're constantly tracking sand in no matter what you do. The decks are worn down and wobbly. At some points we have felt the house shaking inside. Needs to be inspected, unsure if it is structurally sound. There are just chairs outside not the nice furniture with cushions as listed. Very messy in every closet and cabinet, don't open or use for storage. Otherwise, if the house is still standing by the next time it's rented, it's a beautiful view and perfect location.

Beachfront. Nice house just not clean
I can say I loved the home and the location of it. However the cleaning was subpar at best. No compliants just tough pill to swallow when u have a cleaning fee and the place is dirty.

Great location
This is our 2nd time renting this property. We LOVE the location. The view and access to the beach is fantastic.
This trip however had a few little things that needed some attention. We purchased the linen package and it was never delivered. We were told to wait until 6 PM and then call if it still wasn’t delivered. It wasn’t delivered so I had to go out and buy sheets and towels on our first night there so we would have something to sleep on. I called the office on Monday morning and was told that they would refund that but we have not gotten that yet. The shower curtains were pretty gross an easy fix that doesn’t seem to happen. Also we had three cockroaches in the duplex at different times of the week. The lights in the kitchen need replaced. Virtually impossible to see at night. No big pots to cook in.
Overall we like this property but just had a few issues this time.

Great location for laid back beach time.
We really enjoyed this property.
It was a little disorganized when we got there. The kitchen seemed randomly organized with dishes, pots, and supplies. Games, toys and beach chairs under the house were messy and unorganized. With a little TLC this place would be excellent. But the location makes up for any minor blemishes. The large three tiered deck is fantastic. Sleeping arrangements worked out great. We love the fact that it was far away from Surf City but only 20 minutes to a grocery store in Sneads Ferry. The north end of the island is easy to get to from the mainland thanks to the bridge at Sneads Ferry. We will definitely stay here again.

Nice
Nice, clean place on the beach. Older house but that did not bother us. Plenty of room. Great views. Easy check in and out.

Slightly disappointed
The property itself was nice with great views. However, I when we arrived and inspected the property both shower curtains were nothing but mold. I called the property manager and was told they would come replace them...never happened. I purchased 2 shower liners myself and replaced them. The big disappointment was the lack of cooking abilities. The largest pot is barely big enough to cook a box of Mac n cheese. The biggest skillet was gross and might cook 4 scrambled eggs. Make sure you bring ice and prepared meals

Great place
Very nice place, would definitely go back! Only issue was the neighbors parking they had 3 to 4 cars and had us blocked in and some times couldn't get in.

Nice....but
Views of the water are amazing. There are some issues with the structure. Two hours before our arrival we were told there were issues with two of the decks and moved to a nearby condo for a night. Told there would be some compensation for this. NOPE. Once we arrived at the house spent first hour cleaning first two decks. The mess had nothing to do with deck repair just lack of cleaning. Floors do slope in areas. Master bath tub is NOT safe. We used it one day but didn't feel comfortable using it any more. Didn't want to end up in the second floor. The first couple of days there were people on the other side. Heard many complaints then workers were there until we left. If your lucky enough to be in the house your whole stay you will enjoy. If "issues" come up and you are moved don't expect to be compensated. Also no cable. Only streaming and living room tv died a couple of days before we left

Just okay
There is NO businesses on this side of the island, which kept all the tourist crowds away.. First of all, the driveway is SOFT sand, so YOU WILL get stuck, unless you have AWD or 4WD. We found about 5 roofing nails in the driveway, several under the house, and some by the stairs leading to the house. House was clean, but there were dishes in the dishwasher from the previous tenant, and a towel in the dryer. Kitchen is on the middle floor, so you have to carry your groceries up 2 flights of stairs. Make sure you bring a comforter, as the comforter they leave you is paper thin. Also, fyi..There is a K-cup coffee maker. The house is thru Seashore Realty, and they were AWESOME with communication, although the bathroom fan on the 1st floor NEVER got fixed, even after we reported it. Dishwasher was fixed 2 days after we reported it (due to the repair guy having to order the part). Kitchen area is on a big slant. Long walk to the beach. And BE AWARE, they are in the middle of restoring the beach (we were not told this at all).
