My husband and I needed to return to my hometown to visit with family. We loved the location and the overall welcoming vibe of the home. We would happily return to this exact spot for another visit.

Home Sweet Home served us well for our stay. The location is great with easy access to the Park and area activities. We look forward to returning next year and hope that the advertised queen bed for the second bedroom might be available instead of a double. That would make it perfect. Otherwise, all in all, a good home for our needs.

We spent a month here exploring the area. It was overall good; our small pet did well with the fenced in yard and sun warmed sidewalks (7 mo old kitten). We kept a close eye on her and enjoyed watching her discover how to climb a tree! This was our first time to JT. The place is close to the park and close to town for supplies, Pioneertown and other unique attractions.
The place itself is best for 2 adults and maybe a small child. The second bedroom bed is only a mattress on a bedframe- not comfortable for a single or couple of adults.
The kitchen has a regular coffee pot and a French press-could use a grinder for beans..you’ll want to get fresh coffee beans from the local roaster-Joshua Tree Coffee.
The patio has a grill-but needed a wrench to get the propane tanks to function..we replaced a few light bulbs and the sofa had a lot of debris under the cushions which was a little unfortunate given the recent cleaning protocols places need to be following. Overall it could use a good cleaning but since it is desert expect dust. The over bed fans need dusting as well..
I brought my own pillow-there we’re a variety of pillows (all old) and the cotton bedding I preferred over the poly blend that was on when I got there. I poked around the linen closet and found some decent linens-it could use new mattress pads too..
It turns out there are ALOT of places to rent in JT-really do your homework and find a good one. I give this a 2 out of 5. Mainly for the worn bedding.

Shanan helped with all questions we had quickly. Everything was perfect! They even had dish soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash etc for us to use which I was not expecting. The only thing we wish the home had for use was a washer and dryer, but the laundromat was close and convenient. We also purchased a coffee pot and left it behind for future renters because we were not savvy enough to figure out the French press for coffee! 😆 Will definitely stay again if needed in the future!
