About this cabin rental
— Please note for booking: Check-in and check-out days are Sundays, so if the calendar shows a Sunday date in blue, the property is available that week. —
Thirty feet from the water, this cozy lakefront cottage features 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with an open living and kitchen area facing the lake. Ideal for all ages, the property’s geography is completely level for easy access to the cottage and private beach, with no hillsides or steep steps. Enjoy the private dock, well-equipped kitchen, wood-burning fireplace, and a large 24’ x 16’ front deck just feet from water’s edge—perfect for sipping a beverage and keeping an eye on the kids playing in the water. Located on Sherwood Beach, the “afternoon sun” side of Priest Lake, this area is arguably the lake’s best beach due to its sandy beaches, sandy lake bottom, and shallow water. Exiting the cottage door and wading 100 yards out from your private beach with only a gentle, gradual increase in water depth (only 3.5 feet deep at the dock) makes it the perfect place for both children and adults. The shallow depth also means you’ll have the warmest summer water temperatures on the lake, reaching 76-80 degrees during peak summer weeks. It’s an extraordinary location to swim and play in the crystal clear water and end the day watching the gorgeous sunset across the lake.
With two bedrooms and one bathroom on the main floor and two bedrooms and one bathroom on the second floor (1 queen bed in each room), this is the ideal home for families or a group of friends.
The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to make and serve meals. The counter-height dining table has two stools that push completely under the table so it can be used as an extension of the kitchen counter. Dine inside with lake views, or share a meal at the brand new outdoor dining table, ready for lunch in the shade or a perfectly timed sunset dinner.
Good to Know:
- New flooring installed in Main Floor living area in 2024
- Second Floor Bathroom: Located under the pitched roof (see photo), with a smaller stall shower than the Main Floor Bathroom.
____
Boat from your private dock to delicious meals at the resorts on the lake, cruise the beautiful shoreline and islands all the way to the north end of the main lake, then enjoy boating the scenic two-mile thoroughfare to Upper Priest Lake, taking in its undeveloped natural beauty.
Access miles of hiking, mountain biking, and motorcycle/ATV trails from the cottage, many of which lead along roaring creeks to peaks of the Selkirk Mountains and alpine lakes. Choose one of several walking/jogging loops from the back door of the cottage, golf nearby at Priest Lake Golf Course (only a 20-minute drive to the west side of the lake), or simply relax on the deck or beach with your favorite book and beverage.
Experience a lake vacation at Sherwood Beach Cottage and you’ll discover why Priest Lake is affectionately named Idaho’s Crown Jewel.

It was a great experience staying here, we have a boat so it was perfect to have waterfront property with a dock and there was plenty of parking space for my pickup with the trailer as well as two other pickups that my friends and family drove up in. The sandy beach and shallow water were perfect for the kids to play on, and the amenities included on the place made it very convenient as far as what we needed to bring. Absolutely would stay here again!
4.0 / 5.0
The dock is in very rough shape. If there is any waves or wind the dock is almost completely under water. It is being held up by a few barrels strapped to the side of the dock. The walkway out to the dock is also very rough, wobbly, has very uneven boards, and needs a good stain. The deck is also in rough shape. The boards are uneven and it also really needs a stain, we had a lot of splinters throughout the week.

Our family had a wonderful vacation at Preist Lake. The home was very well equipt , we cook a lot and loved the knife set- so sharp!! Greg is an Amazing host, he answers question promptly. If there are any issues , he's ready to help fix it as soon as he hears about it.
The sandy clear bottom of the lake in fron of the house is stunning. So warm for swimming everyday, which we did during our stay.
The walk out on the dock is not as small as the pictures show. Great place to dock a boat and nice to have the protected roof.
The Marina at Coolin is so close and a great spot for coffee, ice cream and supper friendly folks.
We kayaked around the lake, Coolin and the Bays closeby.
Terrific home- Thanks for a great stay!!!

As my grandpa always said, Priest Lake is "A Little Piece of Heaven." This cabin is perfect. It is right down the road from our family, a lovely walk to coffee and ice cream, with a deck and sandy beach to relax and enjoy the lake. We love it here.

2023 was our second time staying at Greg's cabin on Priest Lake because we love it so much. He is sincerely the sweetest and most thoughtful host. He provides us with everything we need to make our stay perfect and comfortable, including a little welcome basket with all kinds of treats. He's very communicative! As for the house, it's the perfect size for our family of 5. Great Kitchen, sitting areas, beds, deck, swimming area, and a slip for your boat. The kids love the sandy beach and the shallow water (So warm!). We also love to do puzzles in the evening on the big table in the living room. We are already looking forward to next year! Thanks Greg!

Greg’s cabin is the perfect Priest Lake cabin! Everything was extremely clean and the space was great. The shallow water was perfect for the kids to play, the only downside was we had to walk our boat into the dock, but that really wasn’t a big deal at all! We would absolutely stay at this cabin again and again!

Adorable and Perfect!
We’ve stayed at many places on Priest Lake and out of them all, this cottage is perfect! Greg put thought into every detail to make his home warm and welcoming for our family. The house was sparkly clean and well organized. The bedding was all fluffy and comfortable. We loved the sandy beach and shallow warm water. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook all of our meals. My husband and I loved that we could look out the big picture window or sit on the deck with our wine and see the kids swimming. It’s so close to everything you need at the bottom of the lake (stores, laundry, restaurants). Greg was responsive, kind, caring, and accommodating! We hope to go back again soon!

Family Vacation at Priest Lake
Our family had a wonderful week at Priest Lake. If you’ve never been to Priest before you are missing out! It is truly the most idyllic lake vacation there is. Boating, fishing, hiking, ATV trails, huckleberry picking, exploring the mountains are all available right outside your doorstep. At the end of the day, dinner and drinks at Hill’s or Elkin’s Resorts are a quick boat ride away. Both have excellent menus. Lunch at Cavanaugh’s is fantastic. A walk down to the Leonard Paul Store for ice cream and souvenirs is a favorite tradition for our kids. Priest Lake golf course is absolutely beautiful. You can even boat over to Hill’s and rent a golf cart there and then it’s a short ride over to the course. For a full day adventure, boating to the Upper Priest Lake will not disappoint. It a place to make lifelong family memories. Be sure to pack well though as it’s a long boat trip and very remote. We like to rent our boats from Crown Jewel Sports in Coolin.
This cabin was wonderful. Very clean, all necessities were available. A nice boat dock, great eating spaces, lots of parking, lots of beach chairs for gathering around the fire. Nothing was missed. Greg was very nice and really easy to work with. Steamboat Bay is a perfect location. It’s not too far from amenities and has a nice shallow swimming area for younger children. We will definitely stay here again.

Amazing house
This house is quite simple but really all you need to enjoy the lake! Communication with Gregg was fantastic! House was clean and organized. Lots of extra little perks included like shampoo and a welcome basket. The welcome basket was super thoughtful and appreciated! We can tell lots of great family memories were made at the cabin over decades! We will definitely book again and hoping to make it on their yearly summer calendar:)

Delightful!
What a treat it was to stay in such a clean and well appointed cabin. From the moment we requested to book through the sad, last day of our trip, it was complete smooth sailing with super quick responses from the host, well laid out instructions and suggestions, sparkling clean spaces, and ample, quality linens. It was very evident the hosts put in a lot of thought, effort and care into creating a wonderful getaway spot. Can't say enough good things about this spot!

Beautiful PRIEST LAKE
Wonderful cabin. Easy access and location. We had a WONDERFUL time here....with out a doubt. We had all the amenities we needed and some. All the rooms were beautiful and newly updated baths. We had wonderful neighbors and SMALL world as they are neighbors back in Spokane.
Would HIGLY recommend and would stay here in the future but stay for 2 weeks as with the late check in ( 4 PM ) and early check out ( 10 AM ) it really only felt like 6 days.
Regardless we had a great time.........THANK YOU MUCH (:

The Perfect Summer Getaway
This cabin was perfect for our family of 4 + our friends (another family of 4). It is stocked with everything you need for a relaxing week at the lake, including a propane fire pit. The propane fire pit enabled us to safely roast smores at night even with the fire ban. As you know, it isn't a trip to the lake without smores. There was plenty of outdoor seating for everyone, and you can easily sit in the shade or sun, depending on your preference. The kids LOVED the sandy beach and being able to touch far beyond the dock. The fabulous Tyee Coffee Shop in Coolin is an easy 2.5 miles walk away for morning coffee or ice cream (5 miles round trip). You really could not ask for a better location.

Family vacation
We had a wonderful stay here. The cabin is very well appointed with everything you’ll need for a fun week. The location is amazing with the sandy beach and swim area, beautiful views and sunsets every night. We loved the swing. Internet worked great for us as several of us had a few work meetings we had to join during our stay. Owners have been wonderful to work with. We definitely recommend and would love to come back.
