Scenic Ridge is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized between guests. We stayed at the Scenic Ridge Guest House during the total solar eclipse weekend from Apr 6-9 and it was an amazing stay. Not only was the house very clean, but it had everything we could need for in amenities, including satellite internet, games to entertain the family, neighboring horses, and a large DVD collection for kids to watch. We were able to cook some great meals in the fully equipped kitchen and roast marshmallows in the firepit with the metal roasting sticks and plenty of firewood provided. At night, the stars were visible and amazing to just sit in the rocking chairs on the porch to relax and observe. Nearby, at Malabar Farm State Park, we were also surprised to learn that The Shawshank Redemption was filmed in the area. The highlight of the trip was being able to see the total solar eclipse from the property itself which gave us 2 mins of totality. The weather was 70F and very low amount of clouds so we could not have been luckier to see this once in a lifetime event. Our family was able to hang out on the front lawn, see the eclipse and run our various experiments to see the effects of the solar eclipse. For the totality itself, which was the first time for a majority of our group, it was a breathtaking experience. I would highly recommend staying here again, especially for large groups since the house is spacious and full of various activities to keep everyone entertained. The host, Joann, was very communicative and ensured we had everything we needed.

The house was wonderful and the scenery was beautiful. We had a snowstorm the first night which set the scene for the rest of the weekend. Lots of room to spread out and enjoy the space. I would definitely recommend this home.

Our family had a wonderful time! Good places for everyone to sleep and a huge kitchen where we spent a lot of time. The house was decorated for Christmas making it a perfect place to celebrate together!

The home is spacious, lovely, and well-equipped! The owner, Joann, the owner, thought of everything to make our stay enjoyable. Our family of twelve fit comfortably with the bedroom options. The large kitchen table was great for eating together and playing games. Adults and children alike had a wonderful stay!

Our family gets together for a weekend in the fall to laugh, eat too much, share memories and just enjoy all that northeast Ohio Fall can offer. This is our second year at Scenic Ridge and we plan to return for many years in the future! Beautiful location and the home is clean and well kept. Great house with lots of rooms with a detached garage as well. In the middle of a farming Amish community with horses literally feet away. House has all the amenities you would need including kitchen supplies, linens, games, books and DVDs. Great house for a family get together!

This house was perfect for 9 women for the weekend. We had plenty of beds, space at the dining table, and rocking chairs on the porch or Adirondack chairs at the fire pit to accommodate us all. The kitchen had everything we needed, the living room was cozy, and the well water was even tasty. Thank you for everything. We will be back.

Plenty of room inside and out for all 11 of us to be together or alone, too. Quiet and restful location. Lovely and comfortable home. First time we’ve seen the Milky Way in years! The horses next door were a big hit with the kids. We’d stay here again!

We had four generations of girls for a weekend. What a surprise, inside has everything you could think of and more. Everything was very clean inside and out. Porches on the front and back were wonderful. It was a beautiful weekend. Joann was excellent to work with and we would suggest it to other friends and family and hope to go back. Great weekend!!!

My husband and I rented the property for time with our grown kids and grandkids that range in ages from 2-7. There were 14 of us and the house was perfect for our crew! Everyone slept well in perfect sized bedrooms and comfortable beds and the yard provides lots of room to play and enjoy! There are pastures of horses all around the property and the whole weekend they came to the fences to say hi. The kids loved that. The back yard has a perfect place for an evening fire and enough chairs for a large crowd like ours. The inside was so clean and spotless! And stocked with everything you’d need to a point that it’s probably better than anywhere else we have ever stayed. Again even with all the energy of small children, there was enough room inside for wiggles and hide and seek! Joanne the owner met us at the house at check-in and was very attentive to all our needs and questions during our stay! Everyone was very excited about the idea of returning to the property in the future for another round of fun.

Scenic Ridge was a lovely place to stay, with plenty of room, and then some, for nine of us. We enjoyed the quiet outdoors and had good enough weather for fires in the fire pit on two days. On the Sunday we were there, we saw a SPECTACULAR rainbow, the brightest I’ve ever seen. The kitchen was equipped with all utensils, cookware, and dishware that we needed, and everything was very clean. There was ample parking space. We used the grill which worked well. The only items we wished for were some tools for the fire pit, but we did make the fire work without them. I highly recommend Scenic Ridge for a weekend of getting away.

Our church had a ladies retreat and it was perfect!! The property was everything that was advertised and more! We had high winds and lost electricity........for about 5 seconds. They had a whole house generator, so we weren't disrupted at all! Joann was so friendly and great to work with. Communication was wonderful. We had such a great time, and will definitely go back!!

This is our second time renting this house and we will continue to do so. The house is clean, neat, and arranged well for our needs. The huge kitchen and large table means plenty of room for our big group to all cook, eat, and socialize together. The multiple large spaces meant that we could still spread out without being on top of each other, even when the weather kept us all inside. We love this place.

Very nice property! We spent a almost a week with our grown children and grandchildren here over Christmas break. We had plenty of space to spread out - the kids loved the lower level and heated outbuilding to play and run. We took short trips to Malabar Farm and Mohican State Parks. Kitchen had everything we needed. The owner responded promptly to any questions we had. Five stars!!

Our family had a wonderful weekend together kicking off the Christmas season at Scenic Ridge. The home was large and spacious for our group of 12, and bright with lots of windows. Each room was nicely furnished, organized, and clean. The kitchen was fully equipped, as were the other community areas. Many extras were available for activities during our stay as well. The grounds were well maintained, and the views of the countryside and evening sky were beautiful. Seeing the horses on the adjoining property was a bonus for the kids. The host I communicated with was Joann, who was always courteous and accommodating with my many questions prior to our arrival. She provided all the information we needed. This rental is one we would definitely return to for a future group gathering.
