About this house rental
The place: Cleanse your palate…and your mind. The Farmstead at Winescape is open, timeless, and authentic. It feels like you're a million miles away....but with the convenience of being able to do a quick 5-minute run to Trader Joes.
The experience: Located at a one of Spokane’s best wineries, you may see and hear winery guests in the distance during open hours...try and give them a kind glance if you're walking about (sshhh…they're jealous). Once the winery closes up, the farmstead site is all yours. Typically the winery is open Thursday thru Sunday’s 2-7pm.
What it feels like: The farmstead reminds some people of their experiences growing up and being connected with nature. It doesn’t feel like an hotel or someone else’s house (at all). It feels a bit like a small boat anchored in a field of grass. Some guests appreciate the opportunity to get out all the pots/pans and cook in a pretty authentic farm kitchen. Still others pick up local bread, cheese and more, then spend the entire reconnecting with themselves on the West patio. And yes, a few guests venture down to the winery, knowing that everyone else on the property has to head home at 7pm, and they’ll be the only ones with the place to themselves.
The scoop: South Hill (Glenrose) location, 7 miles from downtown Spokane. Full size farm kitchen, great heating and AC, open floor plan. Activities: hiking (Dishman Hills Conservancy trailhead is
The caveats, and yes, this isn’t for everybody: This is a real and boxy 100-year-old farmstead....it creaks accordingly. No garage, garbage disposal, or cable (but there is a new smart TV). It’s at a working winery, during the day you may see someone on a forklift down below or barrels being filled. On thursday-sunday afternoons some guests may sit in a pergola area approximately 80 feet from the home. The assets: 8 acres, views that go on forever, nature-themed decor, farm-fenced yard, redwood deck with pergola, an orchard,….plus visits from your wild neighbors (deer, hawks, geese, etc. Coyotes yelping during certain times of the year). Space to breathe. Plus, a bottle of the cleanly crafted and terroir driven wine, made on site and compliments of your hosts.

I'm guessing there aren't many places available on VRBO that are on active wineries. Really cool use of a rustic farm house on the property. Beautiful views and a short walk to the winery. Would highly recommend and hopefully we get to stay there on our next visit to Spokane.

Great little spot right next to the Winery. Enjoyed the stay. Hiking trail a short drive away was a fun find as well.

We were thankful to have stayed at the Farmstead again. The location absolutely cannot be matched. It is stunning. I am impressed at how Patricia and Phillip work to upgrade and keep up the property. Many thanks.

This is our 2nd time staying at this adorable farmhouse, and we enjoyed it just as much. We loved sitting out on the deck and enjoying the beautiful views and the house is clean and very comfortable! We will be back!

This was hands down theeee best vrbo I’ve ever stayed at!! The house was gorgeous the view was awesome. They even had a bottle of wine for us. A treat for my dog. An enclosed yard for my puppy. A fresh bowl of water for him as well. The customer service was beyond!!!!! And the wine tasting and the sunset!!!!!! It’s decorated so cute! My family had the best time. We were all together and even got to bbq. Cannot say enough. And Michael & staff were top notch at the wine tasting.

The winery is a beautiful setting. This would be a great getaway for a young couple. We stayed with our adult son and it was a little tight for three. I also did not realize winery guests and children would be so close to the house. So, privacy was less than stellar. Overall a very nice place to stay away from the city proper, but close enough to pick up anything you need.

This is our second stay and we love it here. Close to town, but feels miles away. Lots of wildlife - birds, deer, coyote howls at night. Very peaceful and had everything we needed.

We were completely blown away by the picturesque views and the farmstead was a unique and special experience. The house was pristine and very comfortable. We enjoyed the winery and meeting Patricia. We will definitely be back. Thank you!

We turned a college tour into a fun family weekend. Such a cute farmhouse with a beautiful view over the valley. We parents enjoyed being able to walk over to the winery while the teens and dog stayed at the house.

The Farmstead is truly a home away from home. This was our second time staying here and our family intends to stay here if we can every time we come to Spokane. It’s so peaceful. Patricia and Phillip are gracious hosts and make sure that if you need anything you can call or text them.

This was the perfect house for us on the perfect property. It was away from town and quiet, but on a short few minutes to anywhere we wanted to be. I would 10/10 recommend this property!

Loved our stay at this cute farmhouse. It was the perfect place for me and 3 of our adult daughters to stay, so we could attend a dear friends baby shower. It was exactly as described a true farmhouse w/ all the creaks and slants lol We didn’t need a lot of amenities but they had everything we needed for our short weekend. The area was beautiful and the view amazing!!! Will definitely book again if we’re in the area.

This is our second stay at the Farmstead. One family member said it was our Spokane home which says it all. Very inviting and suits our needs. Will be back soon.

Really nice rural setting yet only 15 mins from downtown. Very clean and the AC worked very well.
Only issue was only two towels for our family and no washer or dryer. Luckily we had brought a couple extra.
Perfect property for my daughter’s dog as there is a large fully fenced in yard.

We enjoyed a wonderful and peaceful stay at Winescape. The farmstead is very quaint and comfortable, with a great location in the countryside but close to downtown Spokane. Our hosts respected our privacy but were readily available if anything was needed. Perfect place if you have a dog. The fenced in yard makes it easy. House is well outfitted with all the basics. Central AC is great for the main floor. Upstairs can get a little warm on a very hot day, but is supplemented by a window AC unit and great airflow at night.

We attended a conference in Coeur d’Alene but wanted to spend peaceful evenings relaxing and unwinding. The farmhouse definitely had the visitor in mind with a lot of thoughtful touches.
The winery itself was an additional point of enjoyment. The staff were very accommodating and the wine was excellent! We particularly liked the Merlot and Riesling.
This property truly is a little gem in Spokane for a private, quiet getaway.

We chose this house to stay at for my daughters graduation from Eastern Washington University. It was the perfect location… 10 minutes to the riverfront the house was quaint and cozy and had a breathtaking sunset.

It was the perfect spot! A great country neighborhood with fresh air, quiet evenings and great wine as a bonus! Minutes from good shopping and good restaurants, but it felt like a world away - just what we needed.

The lovely farmstead is the best of both country and city vacations. Close to city amenities with a country vibe complete with wildlife. Host is eager to make your stay special and it will be!

The Farmstead at Winescape was the perfect place to unwind after a day of volleyball at the convention center. Plenty of room to spread out for a family of four and a dog. Feels like you’re out in the country, but it’s only a short 10 minute drive to downtown Spokane. We’ll definitely book it again if we’re ever back!

The farmstead was perfect! My husband and I wanted a place away from the hustle and bustle to connect with our family members who live in Spokane. It allowed us to host a small family dinner while being away from home and gave us the rural scenery that we love and our use to while being home.

This was our second stay at the historic home at wine scape. We love the privacy and peacefulness where we can bring our Labrador Bear without worry. Our spo and daughter in Law live in Spokane and this is the perfect place for us to stay. It is very well located and easy to still get to downtown Spokane. Very close to Spokane Valley. Love the Emus and Alpecas across the way. This is our go to place. Patricia is wonderful and available to ensure all our needs are met.

Our family enjoyed a holiday weekend here. The location is very peaceful and scenic in a rural area very convenient to South Hill and downtown. The house is charming and cozy and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Everything was very easy with check in and communication. Would love to visit again!

Another restful stay at Winescapes. The home is the perfect size for relaxing and the kitchen works nicely if you’re in the mood to cook a cozy meal. The added perk is the private path to the tasting room!

I stayed here from mid-July to mid- September. When I initially booked this cottage I planned to take advantage of the great hiking and fishing in the area. As it happened, I had a medical emergency shortly before my stay and ended up recuperating at this lovely property.
It was rural and quiet, but Trader Joe's, Safeway, Walmart, Costco, downtown Spokane, and Kendall Yards were between 10 and 25 minutes away.
Friends and family visited during my time here. We cooked together, ate on the back patio or front deck. And enjoyed the sunsets, and the neighborhood deer, llamas, and emus.
There is no washer/dryer but the hosts kindly washed the sheets and towels as needed. They were also super friendly and helpful.
The cottage is as described and pictured. My favorite experience, besides living at a winery, was feeling the cool breeze on my face every morning from the window next to the bed.
I will definitely stay again.

Beautiful and comfortable farmstead house
We had a wonderful stay. The house was clean and comfortable, and the property is beautiful. We enjoyed the view from the deck and appreciated the fenced yard for our dog. Plus having a winery 25 yards away is a great feature. We will return!

Great girls weekend!
We had a very relaxing girls weekend away! The wine was delicious, the porch sunshine was inviting, and the location was close enough to town for anything we needed, but our in the country far enough away from the hustle and bustle. We are especially grateful to Patricia for being so accommodating to us and would highly recommend a stay at the farmstead at Winescape!

A family member had rented this cute little house previously so we chose it specifically when we came over. Cozy, comfortable, quiet, nicely decorated and a short walk to winery. Who could ask for more?
