A beautiful house, very tastefully furnished, with 360 degree views of the Umbrian hills (it was once a lookout tower). The garden is a delight too!

Amazing location. One drives 5-10 mins off the highway, and at the end of dirt road--there it is. A picturesque private villa with amazing grounds. The gorgeous hilltop city of Todi lies across the hills maybe 3 miles away. After a day of sightseeing we'd retire to an outdoor table, sip some local wine, and hope to see one of the Italian foxes that saunter by. The staff was down-to-earth and incredibly sweet. We loved our 5-night stay. Oh, and don't forget Deruta, the centuries-long leader in Italian ceramics artisanship, is 10 mins away.

Perfect location from Rome if you need to recover from overnight flight. gorgeous setting. Many wonderful rooms to discover and enjoy. beautiful pool and property. Talking parrot adds charm to the location!
This was our second stay here. first time in 2016, when they still had their chef. While they offer delicious food, it’s not the same as before, when it was outstanding. But don’t be discouraged! So many wonderful places to discover in neighboring villages and cities.

Fantastic location near Todi, wonderful views. Hotel quiet, lovely swimming pool and grounds. This hotel is so homely and in such a perfect position.
When we stayed in June, the hotel was nearly empty, and our request for dinner was somehow lost.We had a meal which was more like a series of lunch dishes, leaving us very disappointed, as when we stayed three years ago, we had the typical starter ,pasta, and meat course, and then pudding. The chef was very good at making excellent cakes and puddings, but for breakfast, we were only given cakes and biscuits, and had to pay extra for boiled eggs etc.Yogurt was available in pots and a not very exciting fruit salad, or incredibly sweet and sickly waffles. If we wanted drinks during the day or pool towels, we were constantly having to look around to find someone.Gin and tonics were flat! We were in a garden suite with patio, but the bedroom was small, and the sitting room area a waste of space, as we were much more likely to sit on the patio. It may be that we hit a bad couple of days when the owners were away, and staff were having to multitask.a shame because they were all so friendly, but things need managing better.

Tenuta di Canonica has a lot of charm, is tucked away in the hills with a view on Todi and has beautiful gardens and terraces for breakfast or a drink. In a marvelous green setting you will find a nice swimming pool. The host and hostess are charming people and very interested in their guests: it was a real pleasure to meet them. Also the personnel was very friendly.
All in all, we strongly recommend this place to everybody who likes the quiet hilly countryside of Umbria and who likes the personal approach of a small hotel with nice owners.
It was a pity the restaurant was closed during our stay but I suppose it will open up quite soon.

This is truly a little paradise. Small scale, personal attention and great staff. The entire premises are beautiful and extremely well maintained. Thanks to the wonderful weather we spent most of our time at the pool or the lawns with views on Todi. However, the interior of the Tenuta is also extremely tasteful. Great breakfast and lunch too. Definitely one of the best places I have ever stayed in in Italy.
