The location, although remote, is perfect. the villas themselves are beautiful and every little detail is highlighted. the staff were exceptional, and were there to help with your every need, especially your personal Villa host. mine was Kay and she was so knowledgeable and helpful with everything.

Just simply wonderful, faultless, beautiful hotel and fantastic staff. Beautiful beach, fabulous room, great breakfast, lovely dinner, fantastic Japanese and Thai food, could go on and on. Tua was lovely as our host but also the guys setting up the beach loungers and all the bar and restaurant staff.
Nothing, everything was as close to perfection as you could ask for.

I loved the entire experience.

The rooms are great, spacious and comfortable.
The main pool area can get crowded and noisy.
The hotel charge extra for using basic facilities (steam room, yoga...). There's a lack of free of charge activities (sports, nearby excursions, etc.).

The location was beautiful from the moment we arrived we were looked after by the helpful staff! Noa was assigned to us and he made us feel very welcome and fulfilled any of our needs. He arranged for extra water bottles, pillows etc to be sent to the room asap and organised dinner for us at the japanese restaurant (which was delicious!) It was our daughters 21st Birthday and he even arranged for our room to be decorated with banners and balloons and then at the Japanese restaurant they even bought a cake out and sang to her! No need to get up early to reserve sunbeds as you were assigned your own beds which is such a brilliant idea! Beds were comfy, showers pressure was very good. Beach bags supplied was a lovely touch! It felt like we had a very personalised service and were really happy with our stay. We only booked last minute as the kids wanted to go to the full moon party and this was the last hotel available however we are so glad we did book this one! The taxi to the full moon party took around 40 minutes as its on the other side of the island but the location, views and service truly make up for the journey across! Was lovely being able to walk out into the local village and eat in their restaurants, you must try the coconut ice cream from Coco Locos, the best i have ever tasted!! Massages were brilliant too! We wish we couldve stayed longer!!
The only thing if I had to negatively report would be the lighting in the villa when we a family of 6 trying to get ready the only bright lights were in the bathroom so i had to do my make up in a low lit area, maybe suggest lighted mirrors to combat this as I do understand the dim lights compliment the atmosphere.
We didnt spend long enough here...will definitely book to come back again!

great location, beautiful beach. careful staff. the food at the restaurant is excellent!
The adults pool is small and not inviting to use. The kids pool is located next to the adults pool, they are both occupied with a lots of kids, and the all area is too loud. The kids pool is the nearest to the beach and has a pool bar, which is weird and feels like a waste. The nights were noisy because of the frogs in the yard, and we couldnāt sleep well.
The hotel is too expensive for its level.

Beautiful rooms, very clean on an amazing beach
The hotel was very crowded.
The hotel was not applicable for this amount of people
The swimming pool was loud
In addition, every morning I was waiting at least 10 min for a clean table.
The hotel supposed to be 5 stars hotel, especially the price I paid.
and it didnāt feel like one.

Noa our host was amazing!!! the restaurant in the hotel was delicious and great value for money :)
Staff & service was above and beyond, great peopleā¦.

nice staff (sometimes too nice), the place looks beautiful, very pleasant checkin. The room was very nice and the vsea view is very relaxing.
The prices are sometimes very detached from reality (compare to Thailand). It feels like a hotel from Europe rather than a Thai one. The food is expensive and you can get better food 2 min walk from the hotel and a lot cheaper.

food wasnāt the best and very pricey in comparison to Thailand

After a rough year, we (a family of three, mom and two 12-year old girls) really looked forward to this holiday. The resort is absolutely fantastic, above expectations. We stayed in a Garden Suite with pool for 11 nights, and moved to Ocean Garden pool suite for the last 3 nights. The Garden suite was beautiful, spacious, with a lush garden and felt very private, in the back row of the resort. The plunge pool was great after a long day at the beach, and the sound of the crickets and frogs as the sun sets is the true sound of Thailand. The Ocean Garden Pool suite at ground floor was stunning, same indoor size and look as the Garden suite, but it has an outdoor shower area, big outdoor daybed and pool facing the sea.Two steps, and you are on the beautiful beach. The beach is quiet, clean and safe. The resort has a welcoming feeling, the staff is extremely helpful and friendly, and you feel very well taken care of. The lush surroundings, use of wood and details like the fishpond along the boardwalk makes it very authentic, cozy and inviting. The food was excellent (and if you asked for spicy, you get spicy, not tourist-spicy), the staff was very sweet, efficient, and made you feel relaxed. The poolbar made great drinks, and served ice-cold beer (also made mocktails for the kids - Virgin Mai Tai was highly appreciated by the girls). The night before departure one of the girls' precious bunny (a 12-year old bunny!) got lost inside the bedsheets and went away with the laundry. It was a total disaster, but the staff found him - and he was safely returned to my daughter! We will return, and highly recommend staying at Anantara Rasananda Koh Phangan :)

We left the Anantara Rasananda a few days ago and are still amazed. It was such a wonderful stay - everything from the beach to the friendly, polite staff was just perfect. Thank you! We will return!

lovely beach, nice landscaping good sized villa -
my personal concierge was very helpful and the trip by car and boat back to samui was seamless and well organised. good place for families and romantic for couples I think
very over priced for what it is - the gym is small and needs an overhaul - I did not appreciate being asked to leave the gym because I hadnāt booked a slot when I hadnāt been told beforehand of a booking system. again given the cost of my villa I would have expected a superlative mini bar - there was nothing except for water, milk tea and coffee / not very impressed - at half the price it would have been good value but at Aman prices you expect Aman services and facilities but sadly they werenāt there. lonely place if youāre single

The beach access was great and the outdoor areas beautiful. The staff were very professional and friendly. Teppaniyaki was awesome.
The beach had quite a lot of litter on some days. the pool restaurant menu could have been more varied.
