We enjoyed the property. Loved sitting on the porches in the morning

If you are looking for serenity and nature, you need to stay here. The home is located on a hillside, with views of the river and woods. It is a place of privacy and seclusion. The home is beautiful, large and has everything you need to enjoy during your stay. There were five of us staying the week and we couldn't have asked for a better vacation. Communication with the owners, Amanda and Sean, was extremely fast and professional. There is a lot to see and do, so give yourself plenty of time to enjoy all Maine has to offer. Thank you Amanda and Sean!

Location and privacy off the charts, very responsive host thru text, and plenty of items to accommodate us traveling from far away without some essentials.

What a wonderful property! My daughter got married at Pemaquid Point on July 4th, and that all went well but kept us very busy and I wish we just could have hung out more. We all agreed we would like to come again in the future for just a regular vacation. really liked having my coffee on the screened in porch in the early morning listening to the occaisional lobster boat coming by in the fog. Very peaceful and private location. Thanks for a great stay!

I cannot say enough good things about this incredible vacation log home in Westport Island. This home is gorgeous, spotless, spacious and has a beautiful view. The decor and furnishings are so inviting. You are able to park your car in the attached garage, so convenient. The home also has a whole house generator, so no worries about losing power. The hot tub is just a few steps from the back door and is excellent, so fresh and clean. The host is also excellent, so responsive to every question. This is a perfect spot for a great family vacation. If you would like to visit this part of Maine, rent this fantastic vacation home today!

An absolutely incredible place to stay. Could not have asked for better.

What a fun weekend we had! There were 9 of us and we had plenty of room to spread out. The house is beautiful and in a scenic private location. Having a hot tub was a nice feature too! The kitchen was well stocked and there was plenty of seating for all of us. The hosts always responded quickly to any questions we had. This was our second stay here and we would come back again! If you are looking for a big beautiful home in a quiet scenic location along the coast of Maine to stay, check this home out!

We booked a last minute weekend away for 2 couples and a teen and we had a fabulous time at the cabin. We all had plenty of room and privacy. The beds were all comfortable and the home had everything we needed and was very clean. We cooked a few meals and the kitchen was fully stocked with utensils and pans. We enjoyed the hot tub and star gazing. Beautiful home with great views. We can’t wait to come again.

Our large family enjoyed a last minute weekend getaway at this amazing log-house which had exactly everything we were looking for! High-ceiling windows offering fantastic views, open-floor plan (livingroom + kitchen) to spread out, comfy couches, outdoor hot tub to enjoy during a snowy night, the wood burning stove in the basement, and so much more. The house sits on a small island and is remote enough that makes it seem like you are somewhere deep in the forest - again, the perfect gateway with everything you could need to unplug from the world.

Our stay was fantastic! Everything about this stay was amazing, from the property, to the house (inside and out) and the views. The owners were very responsive and answered all of our questions. Their was 10 of us with plenty of room to relax, play games or enjoy the hot tub overlooking the River.

Amazingly quiet neighborhood. Beautiful home with open floor plan...we would highly recommend this property if you want to relax in a hot tub, be away from the noise, and to gaze at the stars!! This was my first visit to Maine and it did not dissapoint. Hosts were quick to respond to any questions i had.
Thank you!!

Castle Rock had it all! It was absolutely perfect for my husband and our two pups. We spent a week (Fri-Fri) at the cabin and took our time exploring the different towns around Wiscasset. The cabin had everything you could possibly need - fully stocked kitchen, towels, washer/dryer. The beach towels were a nice touch for the hot tub! Make sure you wake up one morning for the sunrise! We went to Shaw's grocery (about 10-15 min away) for groceries when we arrived.
The location was perfect for picking a town and taking a drive. We went to Bath on Saturday for the Farmer's Market, then walked around the town in the cute shops. That was about the only thing we had scheduled since they only have it on Saturday. We spent the rest of the week driving to Camden, Damariscotta, Augusta, Hallowell and Manchester. We even stopped by the Kennebec Cabin Company (Home of the Maine Cabin Masters). Everything was roughly 30-45 min drive. Camden was about an hour, but worth it. There is so much to see in each town and the food is incredible! Do yourself a favor and go to King Eider's Pub in Damariscotta for the best soft pretzel in the world!
We plan on coming back - this was simply the best, most relaxing week we've had in a long time. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us

Gorgeous high quality post and beam construction in a tranquil, secluded setting down a private lane with no neighbors in sight. Peaceful water view. Ideal amenities. HUGE primary bedroom. Comfortable beds. Loft with 4 beds is open to below. Morning sunrise light does stream right in to the loft. Cabin was clean and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable, including laundry detergent which was very helpful. Within a 1 hour drive to more places than we had time to explore. Camden was everything I dreamed of for a Maine vacation. The hike up Mt. Battie Trail was well worth the short but rocky and steep hike for the views overlooking the harbor where our son proposed to his girlfriend. Pemaquid Lighthouse was our second favorite activity but DO NOT GO OUT ON THE ROCKS below the lighthouse. Rogue waves are extremely dangerous and can drag you out to sea in a blink. I think folks from the mid-west, like us do not fully understand the power of the sea, the changing tide and forceful waves that took my daughter's feet clear out from under her and flipped her so hard she is covered in bruises. Please be careful! We drove through Damariscotta during the famous Pumpkin fest and Regatta but it was overcrowded so we decided not to take it in. We learned that Red's Eats in Wiscassett is frozen Lobster on their Lobstah Rolls and that you can go across the street with very little wait time for a much better, truly fresh caught, never frozen Lobstah rolls at Sprague's.

The house and the property was absolutely beautiful! It was a very relaxing stay for my husband and I's honeymoon. The only thing I'd recommend is to add more spatulas in the kitchen. Only having one made cooking breakfast difficult. We also couldn't get the outdoor light to work by the hot tub so we couldn't use the hot tub after 6:00 pm. But that could have been user error.

Impressive log home in a secluded neighborhood. Magnificent home with spectacular views and comfort!

Nice quiet location with water view through the trees. We weren’t able to use the basement because of the overpowering musty smell. We put 2 adult couple in the loft area.

The house was great. We knew there was not water access at the house, but wish there was closer access to swimming and kayaking. We found ourselves traveling every day to swim, paddle or hike.

This property is beautiful. A lovely cabin style home sits up on the cliffs overlooking the water. My family had an amazing time during our stay. The property and home were clean on arrival and the instructions provided for everything were very clear. An amazing stay overall.

Beautiful property and a perfect fit for my family. Renting a Summer home for my family and just my family has been a wish for many years.

Overall the place was ok. Maybe it was my interpretation that there would be water access from the property. We found a public access spot a mile away, which was nice. Just would have been nicer and easier directly from the house. The water at the house was undrinkable…tasted like chlorine. Would have been nice to know about this so that could bring bottled water with us. The lower level bedroom smelled very musty all week. We attempted to air it out, turn on the air conditioner but to no avail. There was also a large nail sticking out on one of the stairs going downstairs. Luckily we saw it before anyone stepped on it and we addressed it. It was nice to have the hot tub and ping pong table due to the weather not being ideal…nobody can control the weather so all ok; we made the best of it.

The space was quite large for our family of six, from toddler to grandparents, to be comfortable and have space to come together or "hang" separately. It was well equipped with a large lobster pot, including the crackers and picks, a grill and a fire pit to do s'mores. It was relatively easy to find whatever we needed from kitchen staples to bath towels and laundry supplies. The location was perfect for exploring the mid-coastal region yet seemed secluded when inside. We could watch some of the activity on the river and the critters in the woods behind the house. Having the garage spaces to unpack the cars was a big bonus since it started raining as we drove in. Amanda quickly answered any questions we had. All in all, a great stay for our first VRBO experience!

The house is large and comfortable and we had room for a number of guests on different weekends. It has a beautiful water view but the waterfront is not accessible. The hosts truly are super and responded immediately to any questions or requests. The kitchen could use updated cutlery and silverware to more easily accommodate cooking on the nights we wanted to stay home. If you are looking for solitude in the woods and within an hour or so of the "tourist towns, this is the place for you.

This home was gorgeous and was the perfect place for my family vacation with my elderly parents. The home is comfortable and very spacious! The host recommends bringing coffee, extra toilet paper and anything else you might need and that is very important to do! The kitchen has appliances, but no condiments or anything you might need for cooking so given the owner’s advice, we went to the store before we arrived and it was perfect! There is wifi, but it is spotty, which is expected for the woods. Overall, we had a wonderful time and I would highly recommend this stay!

Everything is as pictured and described. What a great house and piece of property. We toured the property and you do have to be careful. There were benches to sit on at each of the tiers. Our 2 dogs loved it here too. The house is near a lot of things to do and close to some of our favorite restaurants. We definitely will be back.

Secluded home in a picturesque setting yet also close to shopping. Home was spacious with a beautiful view of the river from the Great room. The hot tub was wonderful and the home was very clean. If you are looking for peace and relaxation while being surrounded by the beauty of nature then Castle Rock is a great fit.

I travel to Maine every two months to relax and to photograph interesting places. So far, this house and location has been my favorite. The house itself is incredible, but the location is private and within minutes of shopping and interesting towns. I brought a drone and photographed the sunrise over the river, which is worth getting up for. Our dog “Landry” had such a good time that she refused to get in the car to go home and ran back to the house.

The house is beautiful and very comfortable! It’s perfect for a gathering of families to relax and enjoy cooking, games, hot tubbing etc together. It’s very private in the woods with a lovely view of the Sheepscot River and plenty of room inside and out to relax.
Unlike some other houses we have rented, the kitchen was very well stocked and we made full meals, baked etc with everything we needed for utensils, dishes, pots and pans etc on hand.
The hosts were very responsive and helpful! We hope to return next year!

Perfect in every way! My family of 6 made some great memories. Everything about the house was so relaxing which made for some great family time! We ate at Monsweag which was very close and enjoyed our dinner and service. We visited Wiscasset and all had a great time….we were also able to visit a couple of lighthouses. Everything about the house was wonderful. The hot tub, the little trail, and we had so much fun with ping pong! We would all love to go back!

Very nice home. Plenty of room to stretch out. Close to Boothbay Harbor, as we also went to the Botanical Gardens for Gardens Aglow. The house had all supplies that we needed for our stay. Bit treacherous near the river BUT still plenty of yard to have the kids run around. We would definitely stay again. The owners were VERY quick to answer any of our questions.

We had a wonderful visit and stay on the island. The house had everything we needed for the visit. There is nothing better than waking up and watching the sun come up over the water in the large windows in the living room. We love the quiet location of the house and the space for our children to run around outdoors. We will definitely be back.

This property is even more beautiful than we imagined! The perfect place to relax and enjoy the best of midcoast maine. We didn't want to leave!!

With a very short 3 night stay packed with many nearby wedding activities at Squire’s Tarbox Inn, we didn’t have a lot of time to take full advantage of all this home had to offer. Still our jam packed weekend made us appreciate even more the absolute tranquility of this spot. Breakfast and late evenings in the screen porch were bliss. And my grandpups loved exploring the sights and smells of the large yard and being welcome in the spacious house. Though my son brought his own crate and everything needed to care for the pups, it was a pleasant surprise to find a crate and large food and water bowls. That would be very helpful for dog owners that travel a greater distance or have a fully packed car. For us, it made it clear that dogs are well loved here. Thank you so much.

We just spent a week in this cabin with two other couples so there were six of us. We loved it!!! It is a beautiful cabin in a beautiful setting. The cabin itself is huge and had everything we needed with plenty of space for all six of us. The outside was gorgeous with view of the Sheepscott River, complete with fire pit and hot tub. We used both most every night. It is very private and remote with beautiful trees. There were only a couple things to be aware of. First, it is very hard to find at night and is on a gravel road. Second, the loft bedroom is not private. It does not have a door and does not have an attached bathroom. The loft is really better for kids. The only improvement I would suggest would be to invest in a larger TV and to maybe put another TV in the upstairs living room. There is only one very small TV in the entire house and it is in the basement. There is a screened in porch area off the master bedroom but it was usually too hot to sit out there. I would suggest maybe putting a ceiling fan out there. We loved the open kitchen and gas barbecue grill. It had everything we needed and hosts were very responsive. Would absolutely recommend Castle Rock!!!
