Private cottage in the woods. Morning and evening we had deer wondering the yard! Very quiet location, houses are spread out nicely and rarely heard a car. House is perfect for small family and very clean. Great location for exploring Hickory Run, Lehigh Gorge and Jim Thorpe.

We had a great weekend get away. The cabin was perfect for our family of 3. We went to Hickory Run State Park and checked out the boulder field and we did a couple hiking trails. The one trail led you to see Hawk Falls. Both were great experiences for our 9 year old. We also spent a lot of time by the fire and enjoying the relaxing atmosphere and wildlife.

We loved our stay! The cabin had everything we needed to be comfortable and the kitchen was loaded with cookware/dinnerware/etc. The decor is adorable, and there were nice touches like a guest book, board games, and DVDs. The lake community is awesome, and the outdoor area is very private. We had a great time relaxing out back by the fire and watching deer. The host was easy to work with and checking in was as simple as can be. We’d love to come back! Thank you!

The cabin was so-so, but the owners were helpful. We had to bring everything we’d need, as we were told, though I have never brought linens to a rental before. The kitchen sink got plugged up often, to which we took the plunger! No directions for trash removal at an off site unnamed location. A very complicated TV arrangement in both rooms, with no instructions which should have been with the remote. The coffee pot didn’t work so I had to buy one. It was advertised that the fireplace in the house was for our use but a sign said DO NOT USE. Talked to owner and issue was resolved. However no lumber to burn despite the photo on the website showed a giant log holder and cover, but it was devoid of wood burning logs. When we used the fireplace, the very old badly tarnished brass door fell off! The porch was a messy mess with old plastic furniture. But the grill worked great! Fridge and stove quite old but worked fine. Same with can opener and toaster. Also house was freshly painted. The house has all new windows and sliding doors. The front access stairs and deck access stairs absolutely need railings.

Two suggestions, it would be nice if sheets and towels were included and if you could take away the garbage. Most other places I stayed these things are included. Other than that the stay was Wonderful.

Good place to be in the heart of the Poconos, but read carefully! No linens or towels, but it is in the description. Had a great time enjoying the fire pit.

This was the perfect location for a weekend getaway. Even though it rained most of our stay, we really enjoyed the solitude of being in a secluded area. Very close to downtown Jim Thorpe if you want to enjoy restaurants or shopping!

Loved the location of this peaceful getaway. Deer galore right off the back deck. The densely wooded area provided lots of privacy. Just the right size. A short walk to the community lake! The host responded right away when i had a question. Very nice cozy cabin!!

Our first trip to Jim Thorpe and we loved it! The cabin made a perfect “home base” for us and our pup as we explored the area. Was comfortable, well appointed, and in a great central location. Communication with owner was easy and pleasant.
Future guests note: older pictures on listing - we anticipated a coffee pot but cabin has a keurig instead. BRING YOUR OWN TOWELS AND SHEETS. I almost missed that before our trip. :)
Thank you for sharing your cabin with us!

The place was perfect size for my husband and I. We loved the wooded setting and seeing deer. Unfortunately it rained our whole time, so we didn't get to enjoy the deck or fire pit. Hopefully next time.

This house was very nicely decorated and nicely supplied for cooking. The living room furniture was super comfortable and encouraged gathering. Wifi/TV/DVD/and even videotapes were available. Kids books were in one bedroom. Clearly, a great place for dogs because of tethers by the door and a big, open wooded area behind the house. The only reasons I rated it good instead of excellent is that the house seemed a bit musty and carpets were aging and had a mild odor. Although all the appliances and bed and bathroom were clean, the house needed a dehumidifier and some updated carpets to feel clean. Perhaps that's because the house was in the woods and because it rained one day, so take that impression with weather in mind. Note that the lake that is mentioned in the profile is currently closed because of contamination (Aug. 9). Some of the instructions sent to us were out of date, such as needing lake passes and dump permits. The queen bed is very soft, so you're in luck if that's the way you like it. Overall, if you are picturing yourself going to a cabin with the kids and the dog, and you like a place that feels like home without needing anything fancy, this is a good place to go -- and priced accordingly.

The cabin was fine for what we needed. It was mostly clean but had A LOT of random nick nacks and stuff on the walls collecting dust. The bathroom and carpeting was pretty dated. The outdoor fire pit was nice. We saw a ton of deer which was cool.

Overall, we loved staying at this cute cozy and relaxing cabin. It was definitely needed and would love to come back again with our daughter. The owners were quick to respond and so kind. I loved Jim Thorpe!

The cabin was exactly as described and conveniently located to many local attractions. We enjoyed visiting the downtown area of Jim Thorpe and taking the train ride tour, with our pups!
There are terrific shops, restaurants and coffee shops (check out Muggle's Mug & Myst). There are many great hikes to take in the area. We went to see local waterfalls. The fire pit was great to relax to in the evening.
The host was fantastic! Great communication & even checked in with us to see if we were enjoying ourselves!
Already thinking of going back & visiting Skirmish to play paintball.

Me & my boyfriend loved this cozy little cabin for our weekend getaway! We came to town for The Mahoning Drive-In opening weekend which we were only 30 minutes away from & it was the perfect space. Quiet, clean, & great communication with Eileen & Loren. We will definitely be back. Thank you for an amazing stay!!

This was a great cabin to spend Thanksgiving in. My partner recently lost his grandfather, so the grandma/grandpa decorations made us feel like part of the family. We felt really comfortable and filled it with holiday smells and music. It was quiet - just what we needed.
The best part of the vacation was that we were able to bring our pup on many great hikes. Hoping to come back again to explore more.

We wanted to see the leaves change color and we were not disappointed. A very secluded and comfortable space and beautiful setting. No bears visited but each morning deer came by the cabin. Remarkably convenient, just a short drive from major highways.
