We had a wonderful stay at Sherwood Point Lodge. Nice and secluded and stunning views. The house is set up so nicely and worked great for our family. The space has EVERYTHING you'll need and made traveling with little ones easier. Also so nice that they provide things such as coffee, laundry detergent, toiletries etc. Great, great space and we can't wait to stay again!

This was one of the best VRBO houses we stayed at. Great location, great house, great views, peaceful. Although we couldn't use them (due to weather) it was great to see the bicycles, and canoes. The kids liked the pool table downstairs. The kitchen was pretty and the coffee pod selections were very nice. Big thanks to our host.

The property is right on the lake and we had a gorgeous fall view. Enjoyed drinking coffee on the pier and nights spent gathered around the fire pit. Kids enjoyed the downstairs game room and the property accommodated our large group. Owner was very responsive to any issues that arose during the stay.

What an amazing cabin! Indoors was luxurious and spacious, with room for everyone to find their own space while also allowing many different places for everyone to convene. And the secluded outdoors -- including a private rock-ledge beach -- was phenomenal. Close enough to stores and restaurants for easy access yet also a feeling of seclusion. A perfect place for a getaway!

The house and setting was beautiful. As it was on the water, we were expecting to spend a majority of our time playing in the lake. Worth noting this is on a bluff several steps down to the water meaning you need to carry kayaks up and down a lot of steps, which we did, but not sure average vacationer could manage. There is a rock ledge at water level and a dock, but rocks were slick, no beach, no ladder to climb in and out of water. Pretty to sit and enjoy, but not ideal for playing in the water. Lots of boat traffic very near to dock making water rough and not relaxing, certainly not kid friendly. For all the lake toys offered, we expected to use them at the property. We're lake people so we got along ok, but not sure the average vacationer would feel the same. There were lots of bikes and life jackets, along with yard toys and a great fire ring. The house was spacious with fully stocked kitchen. We might suggest clearing some space in the kitchen cabinets and bedroom closets for guests. The closets were full of owner's boxes, etc, and didn't have bars for hanging clothes or even room to put a suitcase. Also nice to have rugs in basement bedrooms, perhaps a mirror too - seemed bedrooms were lacking many basic bedroom creature comforts. Overall a great stay and would recommend.

This was a beautiful view and location! The amenities were fabulous and our family had a great time!

This is a great place- it was super comfortable for 5 adults and a one year old. There's so much to do from the puzzle table to the cribbage board, pool table, shuffle board, and giant screen for movies. An Arcade machine with 2000 games on it too! That's all just inside - we really enjoyed the bikes and kayaks too. You can see from pics the amazing view and outdoor fire pit with plenty of seating, and a real nice deck as well as a great hammock! The sheets are so soft and the beds are comfortable, the dishwasher, and laundry washer and dryer are new too! And the host is very gracious as well as super fast at responding to any questions you have! It's such a wonderful place, you will absolutely not regret booking it!

Great property - right on the water and not far from Sturgeon Bay. Family had a great time and were able to go out in kayaks and play table games. Excellent stay.

This is a clean, upscale property with a great variety of equipment for having fun. Bikes, cornhole, fishing poles, even all sizes of life vests for water fun. Paddle boards, kayaks. Close to a boat launch. Just bring yourself and the food you like. We especially enjoyed the surround sound system throughout the house to enjoy music while socializing, playing pool, shuffle board, morning coffee, cooking, and meals together.
They’ve thought of everything!
We will definitely book again!

Amazing views of the bay, good star viewing, nice Arborvitae forest setting. The game room was a hit with the kids and the fireplace was the warm spot to be in the evening. We had a wonderful time!!’nnnn

This house had everything needed for our stay. This house can sleep large groups. You will never get bored with all the fun "toys" the house has to offer. The rec room can keep you entertained for hours and if it is nice outside, there are plenty of kayaks, bikes and more to enjoy the beautiful area. The view of the lake was amazing! We would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in the area. You won't be disappointed.

Twelve family members gathered to celebrate a 90th birthday, and the Sherwood Point Lodge worked for young and old! Plenty of space for everyone and lots of things to do on the property -- bike, hike, fish, cook, kayak, sit around the firepit, play board games....
The kitchen was well-stocked, the beds were comfortable, the master suite shower was amazing! Great place for extended family to gather!

Relaxing family getaway
The property is well equipped with bikes, kayaks, etc. and is great for families with kids. Beautiful location on the point. Bedrooms are a little smaller than pictured but living/dining/kitchen area is very spacious and comfortable.

Inside nice, outside be careful for large drop off cliff
Hi, I stayed at this location over spring break with my husband, son, in laws and my parents. The inside was nice. There was a very small tv on the main floor and there was a very weird sound control issue that you needed an app for:( Nice that there were lots of games for our son to play and space for everyone to sit. In the back yard there is a very big drop off towards the water. I would not bring small children to this location just because of this. Also the front steps has a railing on the side of the house but not on the front of the stairs. We had a bad fall from one of our parents because the thought they could do the stairs. I'd recommend another visible railing.

Idlewild review
Very impressive property and spectacular location. Grand home with large wrap around deck on a bluff overlooking Green bay. Wonderful recreation room, huge selection outdoor sports equipment, modern kitchen with grand great room.
The only negatives were some housekeeping deficiencies and problems with the air conditioning which the host was very responsive to.
I would recommend this property as a great place for family reunion which is what we enjoyed there. Door county offers so much for a vacationer with access to both Lake Michigan and calmer waters in Green bay.

Great location, subpar property manager
Beautiful home. It was mid winter when we arrived and the house was at 60 degrees. There was a strong breeze coming off the lake into the house and you could feel the cold air flowing into the house.
My brother was first to arrive and called the number listed on the house manual but never received a response. Luckily, my family is handy and figured out the fireplace situation really well. The fireplace was confusing though because the blower fan doesn't turn on until the fireplace has been heated to a certain temperature, which left us initially guessing. I reached out the following day to the property manager via VRBO and she messaged back fairly quickly and gave her cell. I explained the situation in the message and surprisingly, the host was not apologetic whatsoever, and just say "contact me at this number, I won't miss your message". I then explained that the outside sun and fireplace running all day eventually heated the upstairs to a comfortable temperature. However, we booked the house to celebrate late Christmas and didn't get to use the main room for more than half the stay, which is ultimately the main excitement / best room of the house.
Later that night, I messaged the property manager (the night before our check out) to see if there was any opportunity for a late check-out. Initially, my messages never went through to the cell number the property manager gave me. Then an hour or so later, I saw they were delivered, yet never received a response to my inquiry.
Yes, the house is in a supreme location. Yes it is very well layed out and a great place for a family to have a getaway. But if you are going to charge the rates they charge at this house, you should be more accommodating, have a way to heat the home properly or have it heated prior to the guests arriving, and be more courteous / responsive to your guests.

We enjoyed it very much even though it rained most of the time.

Amazing!!!
Do not look any further this is the perfect cabin to stay. We had an amazing time here. It is very spacious and fully stocked with everything you can possibly need. Pet friendly as well. The view is amazing. We stayed here for our Christmas getaway with family, and it was so much fun the only complain I have is not having enough time. We will be back, looks like this would be great in the summer as well. Emily you were very helpful and nice to talk to thank you for letting us stay at your cabin. We hope to come back next Christmas and try a summer stay one of these days.

Sherwood Point Lodge
Staying at the Sherwood Point Lodge was absolutely incredible. The house was beautiful, spacious and we had so much to do. We were only there a couple nights and had a great time. We will definitely be booking a longer stay at Sherwood Lodge in the future.

Wonderful Getaway
If you are looking for seclusion with tons of amenities(kayaks, bikes, paddleboards, pool table, fishing supplies, games), this is the place for you! It is a bit of a drive to the popular attractions -- Peninsula State Park, Whitefish Dunes, Cave Point, etc which was fine for us since these were our "day trip" outings. We all want to come back again!

Amazing space for families to make memories
We had an amazing time at this beautiful house. The adventure shed amenities were amazing and we made full use of the bikes, paddle boards, kayaks, fishing equipment - even the sidewalk chalk. We even found high chairs and a dog bowl we could use. It’s perfect for families with small children and pets. We really didn’t need to leave the house to have a great time. We did manage to fit in a delicious fish boil at waterfront Mary’s and half day kayak / cliff jumping tour at cave point. Both highly recommended.
