Beautiful historic cottage with everything you need to be very comfortable. The beds were amazing, great modern kitchen, lovely big bathroom with a claw foot bath. Temperature control was easy and effective. Lovely outdoor area and gardens. Loved our stay there. Definitely recommend

What an absolute gem! Our stay was amazing. Nicole and Andrew have made a beautiful historic building a home.
The bottle of wine upon arrival was a fantastic start to our weekend away.
We cant wait to return!

We had the most wonderful stay at Cooney's Cottage in Gulgong. A beautiful cottage in lovely surroundings with everything you could possibly need and more. A welcoming bottle of local wine that prompted us to visit the winery. Centrally located. We were able to walk to the shops and pubs and it was only a short drive to Mudgee. We were able to bring our dog and he loved being by the fire. We really enjoyed staying here and can highly recommend this lovely cottage to others. Many thanks to the owners. Karen Lawler

Nestled in the wonderful historic town of Gulgong this quaint two bedroom cottage has it all. Located just a short walk from the main town centre it is located in a quiet section of town. Surrounded by a diverse and colourful garden it provides its guests a beautiful and private retreat.

Very comfortable and well appointed

We were very surprised upon entering even though the exterior looked inviting. A delight and expertly restored and extended. Beautiful bathroom and kitchen perfect. A little table and chairs in kitchen instead of island bench would be even better. Very tastefully decorated also . Fire so warm, outdoors perfect for dog, we loved it. We had to leave early so didn’t get to see much of town but it looked very cute. Thankyou

What a absolute beautiful original cottage that has been renovated with all the mod cons that you would need.
The mattresses are incredible, they are super comfortable very clean best I’ve ever slept on.
The yard for your dogs is fully fenced huge block. Just a few spot we had to put so firewood to stop my very very little tiny toy poodle from getting out.
You couldn’t ask for anything more plenty of breakfast things to eat, milk, loads of firewood. The home is spotlessly clean. Wood fire, plus central heating and aircon. The little town and the residents are so lovely and kind.
Very happy with our stay!!!!

Beautifully appointed, tastefully decorated and very, very comfortable. The dogs with us loved the big garden and the fire and we felt thoroughly spoilt with teevees in the room. We trialed our dogs all day and it was wonderful to return home to this haven which is close to pubs and shops. We'll be back.

Beautifully Vintage
We had a lovely stay at the cottage. Its even more beautiful in person. The decor is very tasteful in a vintage style. It was well stocked with cutlery crockery and even some pantry items. We enjoyed the outside bbq and i felt comfortable to have our dog roam the fenced in yard. Gulgong itself is straight out of the old days with little shops and well maintained historic buildings. Truly a great stay.

Easy drive to mudgee
We often have trouble finding a property accepting pets- so this was great. Fenced yard and no carpet!

Most enjoyable weekend
Trish, Max the guide dog and I really enjoyed our stay at Koonie's cottage. It was the cutest little house and Nicole and Andrew's instructions and history of the cottage made our stay extra enjoyable (not to mention the bottle of local wine). We came home feeling refreshed and it was fascinating to get in close contact with the region's history.

Historic cottage close to town
Property was spotlessly clean on arrival. Nice to have the fire prepared already for us on arrival although we didn’t get to use it as the weather was quite warm for late April. Kitchen was well stocked with all the essentials and the bathroom is lovely. Outside barbecue area/kitchen is very nice although this is the only dining area in the cottage. Lovely to sit in the sun on the front verandah and enjoy a coffee. Short walk to town to the historic area of Gulgong. Highly recommend this cottage.

Gulgong historic cottage
If you love historic buildings this small cottage is lovely - cosy and comfortable. The only thing it lacks is a dining room - plenty of outdoor eating space, but no dining table inside.

Trip to Mudgee for Charity Shield & wineries.
The house in historic Gulgong has a wonderful history & artefacts but the decor is modern. Very comfortable with goodies the owners left & little touches by the owners that made us feel welcome. Beautiful house for 2 couples- thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

Comfortable and pet-friendly
We enjoyed our ten-day stay at this property in Gulgong. Location is residential and quiet, but an easy walk or 1-2 minute drive from the centre of Gulgong. Beds were comfortable, great bath/shower, air conditioning worked well, kitchen is appropriate if you want to cook some meals. Indoor table is a lowish coffee table, bigger table is outside but supplied citronella candle and mozzie coils did the job. Our dog had enough room to run/explore outside plus good shelter from the elements, we felt we could leave her there safely without having to tie her up. Owners are helpful without being intrusive. We'd happily stay there again.

Gulgong getaway
Thoroughly fabulous experience. Would happily recommend to others and would definitely stay again. Thank you so much!

The cottage has been lovingly restored and is comfortable for a longer stay (ie. fully stocked pantry and great kitchen albeit no washer-dryer nor dishwasher). The owner of the cottage is very friendly and responsive with communication. Gulgong is a small town rich in history with friendly residents, the cottage is only 5 minutes walking distance to the town. We prefer staying here than Mudgee due to its village atmosphere even though Gulgong has no shortage of country pubs to choose from. We’re mostly out for excursions etc but when we’re stationary we’re happy to just chill out in the courtyard. The cottage is fenced so it’s safe for our pup to run around and play. The cottage is a great option for our stay in Gulgong and spacious enough for a family of 3 with a dog like us. We’re hoping to be back again one day to escape the crowds. (Tip: For hot days, Gulgong public pool is a short 5 minutes drive from the cottage).

My partner and I really enjoyed our stay in Gulgong. Nicole was a fantastic host and the house was everything we were looking for - a great kitchen, very comfortable bath tub and just a short walk in to the main street of town.

Beautifully renovated heritage cottage
We loved our stay at this beautifully renovated heritage cottage, the cottage was super clean, lovely linens and fluffy towels, very cosy and comfortable, the claw foot bath is so relaxing! We enjoyed sitting on the veranda listening to the birds while our dogs explored the large yard. The property owner is lovely and communicated really well, hassle free, check-in and check-out, we will defiantly stay here again and recommend this cottage to any visitors to the Gulgong/Mudgee area.

Delightfully quaint
So gorgeous to be in an original Gold Rush Cottage that has been brought to life with thoughtful modern day comforts. The owners have done a beautiful job and were easy to communicate with . It was the smartest check in I have ever had. Kitchen has everything you need, all good quality as well as olive oil, S&P etc to help you cook up a masterpiece. Several outdoor areas to sit and read, eat or have a drink as the sun goes down. Easy walk into town to explore. Fenced in so our dog couldn't escape. The whole family loved the property.
