The holiday park Frankenau is known due to its location in the midst of the beautiful nature, not far from the famouse Sauerland. The park is hidden between the green of the Sternberg border, directly along the national park Kellerwald - Edersee. You literally here within several steps in the national park, where you can make lovely walks through the hilly landscape. You can visit the park with the guidance of a forester, who will tell you everything about its history.
The holiday house is situated on one of the most beautiful spots of the holiday park. From here, you have a beautiful wide view on Frankenau and its surroundings. Attention: the top floor is only accessible from the outside; a separate staircase brings you there.
Close by you will find the biggest lake of Germany, the Edersee. At this outstretched lake, you can go diving, surfing, water skiing, canoeing and boat sailing, fishing and swimming. Then this region is very interested in culture-historic cities like Bad Arolsen, Frankenberg, Waldeck and Bad Wildungen. In the winter you can go skiing and langlauf in teh vicinity of Winterberg or Willingen.
The holiday park has the following facilities (at a cost): playground, beachvolleyball, tennis (indoor and outdoor), table tennis, billiards, bicycle hire, play hall with computer games, internet, small zoo, squash, minigolf, restaurant and guided walks.
