There are many marinas on Norris Lake with restaurants, bars, boat/PWC rentals, fuel, and live music nearly every night of the week between Memorial and Labor Days! We are within 10-15 miles by water from most of the popular spots--including Stardust, Sequoyah, Shanghai, Whitman Hollow, Waterside, Norris Dam, Springs, Deerfield, Mountain Lake, Twin Cove, Sugar Hollow and the Jumping Bridge (Cedar Creek). By water, we are located between Sequoyah Marina and Anderson County Park. See marina info, event schedules, and maps here: http://www.norrislakemarinas.org/events/ or Download the events guide for 2023 here: http://www.norrislakemarinas.org/lake-visitor-guide/

It features all-new bedding and furniture, including one queen bed, one pull-out sleeper sofa (queen), one pull out sleeper chair (single), dresser, chest of drawers, and large LCD TV (with Dish), and gas grill. The kitchenette includes a mini-fridge, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, and two-burner hot plate. The bathroom has a walk in shower and vanity. Previous guests should note we have upgraded the HVAC in the suite to a quieter and more powerful unit, as well as new decking
The suite is accessible only by stairs.

We live in the main house year-round, so you may see us in the driveway, yard, or down at the dock, depending on the day, but we won't pester you.
Feel free to contact us before booking with any questions you may have.
You may moor up alongside our private dock if renting or bringing a boat, or use it for your swimming, lounging, or fishing pleasure. We also have two open Jet Ski ports available if you are bringing PWC's, as well as a KayaArm to make launching a kayak a breeze. Our cove is seasonal and our dock is usable at lake level 1012 and over. We typically will be over 1014 from Mid-April through Labor Day. Please see below regarding lake level.
SATURDAYS: We typically do not allow stays to begin or end on a Saturday because we're often away those days. Please feel free to contact us if you'd like to request an exception. There are situations under which we can accommodate and we will respond quickly.
*Tritoon and Jet Ski rental Info: Our Tritoon rental boat is 26 foot Veranda Tritoon with a 200 HP four stroke motor. It will seat 12 adults and travel ~32 mph depending on load, and will pull most towables, wakeboarder or slalom skier. We have plenty of life jackets and a flat-deck style innertube you may use, as well as a knee board. It has AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth/USB connectivity, GPS Chartplotter/fish finder, popup changing room, bimini top, and large overstuffed furniture and sunpad. From May 1 through Labor Day the rent is $340 per day + gas. Any additional days receive a 10% discount. After Labor Day through April, we rent the boat for $275 a day. Just bring it back with a full tank of gas. There is a refundable damage deposit of $250 required. I can add the tritoon as a "fee" due before check-in. If our dock is not available (see below), the boat will be docked at nearby Sequoyah Marina. We also have a "JetSki" (PWC) for rent. It is a four stroke 3 seater that will run ~55mph and pull towables. We rent it only from Mid-April through Mid-Sept for $285 per day plus gas. Any additional days receive a 10% discount. There is a $250 refundable damage deposit. NOTE: Renters must have a valid boaters license or Boaters Safety Course OR complete the free online safety course at https://www.rentalboatsafety.com/ and provide proof of completion no more than 7 days before the rental. Due to insurance requirements and state law, we will be required to obtain a copy of proof of course completions.
***Lake Levels during off season: Our floating dock will no longer be usable when the water level is below 1012 feet above sea-level. Typically, the lake comes up over that in early April and remains there until at least Labor Day. Historic levels back to 2019 can be seen at this link: http://www.norrislake.info/Level.asp . Rain and downstream water demands cause it to fluctuate from year to year. As of Aug 29, 2024, our dock is is no longer in the water as the water's edge has receded beyond it. The lake level is ~1010 and is not expected to rise again to sufficient levels until Spring 2025.
At low winter pool, the lake's edge is ~100 feet from the dock and one can easily walk down to it. Sequoyah Marina and Stardust Marina are each less than 5 minutes away by road and offer overnight mooring along their causeway for ~$15 a night. We continue to rent the tritoon most of the year, but will move it to the neighboring marina (Sequoyah) where you can access it. Sequoyah is about 2 miles away by road. If you have any questions regarding this, please don't hesitate to reach out.

The hubby and I decided to take a trip without the family and just needed a small intimate place to sleep & hang while we explored. It’s always I feel a coin toss what you might show up to but even though we thought it might be uncomfortable with the owners on site, it was the total opposite.
Derek and Meredith were extremely caring and hospitable. They enhanced our trip with their above & beyond customer service & their local suggestions of things to do just topped off our vacation.

The property was exactly as advertised. Great location. The owners were there and friendly. Perfect for our single family. Making meals was easy enough. I would definitely recommend bringing additional plastic silverware and solo cups. THank you again.

We were interested in a lake weekend at Norris Lake. This property is right on the water, and it also has a dock that you can use. We brought our own kayaks, paddle boards, and JetSki, so that was very convenient.
The lodging itself is a unit above a large, three car garage. Very nice inside with everything that you need. It is one big space though, so think about that if you need separate rooms, bedrooms, etc. It is great for a couple.
The host is very nice and responsive. Good information and tips for the lake. No problems with anything.
If we need more lake time, we would be happy to return!

What a great stay. Derrick is an excellent host. His property is beautiful. I enjoyed sitting on the deck just outside the rental. You could see the cove from there. Derrick was very knowledgeable of the lake which helped me with my fishing. It is also quiet. I will stay there again.

We absolutely love Norris and wanted to head down for Labor Day. Their home came up and I have to say we’ll be back. The Johnson’s are the nicest people and really make you feel welcome. They had a spot for us to put our boat and the wave runner we rented from them was a blast!!! This place was perfect for our family of 5 and located close to everything!! Definitely recommend!!!

The host family were friendly and welcoming!
We rented the tritoon during our stay, which was an extremely easy process. The boat has been well maintained, easy to operate, and having the dock on site made getting on the water a breeze.
All in all the wife and I, had a wonderful time! 10/10!

I was looking for a place to dock our boat and lay our heads at night ….and Derricks place fit the bill!!
He was very informative and very helpful in every way possible.
His place was very comfortable, quaint and quiet. We had everything we needed and felt very safe in our environment. We spent a ton of time on our boat and Norris lake did not disappoint. From waterskiing to just lounging in the water , it was fabulous!!
Loved it all!!!

We found a little gem of a property with Derrick and Meredith’s “mother-in-law” suite by Norris Lake. We love the lake life and on a whim, scheduled a long weekend at the property. We were pleasantly surprised to find a very clean, comfortable property with all the space our family of 4 needed for a few days. The kitchenette was perfect for making easy meals, and the sleeper sofa was perfect for our kids (10 and 7). The bed was comfortable, the internet was great to stream videos (and catch up on work email). But the real prize of the property is the dock—it’s perfect for sunbathing, swimming or fishing. They also have all the water toys you could want: kayaks, a paddle board, a lily pad mat, and water noodles. They also have a spacious tritoon boat for rent as well as jet skis. We rented the boat for a day, and Derrick took the time to walk us through all the boat’s “bells and whistles” so we felt confident taking it out on the water. They have knee boards and tubes for the boat, too!
As far as hosts, Derrick was excellent! Very communicative and responsive to my questions. You can’t go wrong with this property if you’re looking for a fun, relaxing weekend at the lake.

This is a nice place to stay on the lake. Apartment was above garage separate from owners house. Plenty of room and nice bathroom and partial kitchen. Dock is really nice and easy access to to lack Norris by boat or jet ski. Close to Sequoyah marina and Stardust marina which had live music Saturday night

Had a really nice time. Place is in a quiet neighborhood and part of the lake. Floating off the dock and swimming was very relaxing. The place is perfect size for a couple. Had everything we needed. Best part was renting Derricks pontoon and jet ski for a day each. He was very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed on our trip. We Would definitely stay here again if ever at lake Norris for a summer trip

THE place to be, owners are very polite -- we've had an awesome few days on the lake (including the boat we rented along with the cabin) -- Thank you again for having us!

Derrick and Meredith's place was very cozy and inviting. Derrick provided great communication for us also. There were grocery stores about 15 minutes away that provided us what ever we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our time out on the boat and thought the lake was beautiful. We did not have the best of luck fishing here so I would not recommend this lake for that at least in the summer. Despite that, this place has a great dock for hanging out with friends and family and swimming, canoeing, and tubing on the boat was a blast!

Perfect location and just the right amount of space for an anniversary trip for my husband and I. We loved everything about our stay, and having the boat available right at the house made the trip!!! Highly recommend and will hopefully visit again soon!!

Thanks again for another great getaway. Great hosts always ready to help and accommodate our needs.Everything is clean and comfortable. So nice being able to keep our boat at the dock and just head down for a day on the water. We highly recommend this place for a couple or small family. If you don’t need a big house this is perfect!

This is a beautiful property. The landscaping is beautiful and well hidden in a nice cove. The accommodations were very nice and clean. The hosts were excellent. We rented their pontoon for the weekend and cruised all over the lake. A great weekend was had and we will be going back before the summer ends.

Great place for two fishermen. A couple, or small family. Nice dock to tie up your boat in a quiet cove so it doesn't get beat up by boat wake. Host is the best. Even helped me getting over to launch ramp and back which is only a couple miles away.

The property was amazing. The owners made check in a breeze! Access to the water is great! The owners are very responsive and kind! Glad we spent our honeymoon weekend at this property!

The owners have a unique gem of a property with many beautiful landscape features from the previous owner, a landscape designer...very cool.
The lake is another unique experience, a little research reveals Norris Lake as a special situation that is part engineering marvel of our forefathers, part gift from nature.
The accommodations are spacious and fun, a typical lakefront type of structure above a garage. Not perfect for small kids but doable, a perfect couples getaway.
Host is accessible and communicative...we like that they are on site...a win, win.
Overall a good value at a very popular destination. They even have rental watercraft available at times...this is of course an extra worth mentioning. We would recommend unless you have a difficult child, then maybe not. Our little guy is 10 months and did well with everything but the roman shade chords...not super kid friendly...not advertised as this so they aren't hiding anything.
A very happy boating and lake trip for us...

This was our second year in a row staying here. Derrick is extremely accommodating and nice. He’s honest and quick to respond. He reaches out if there are any concerns, and will offer solutions to help resolve it. My family and I had a wonderful time! The kids loved swimming by the dock and at the little beach near by. Definitely recommend staying here. We’ll be back! Thank you Derrick for another year full of family memories!
