The property was perfect for my stay. Close to the town center and also Idyllwild Arts Academy which is what brought me to town. Would definitely stay again! Ample space, clean and great hosts.

Staying at Jay’s place was a great experience. It met our needs perfectly, from the comfortable recliner for enjoyable reading to the amazing shower with the smooth pebbled floor that felt like a foot massage. And right down the road to Idyllwild Arts, where we needed to be. We didn’t use the backyard but saw that it is large and fenced. The beds were comfortable and there were options with the queen bed and single bed in the bedroom and a single bed with trundle in the living room. I can’t think of any suggestions for improvement. All was great. Thank you.

This long weekend getaway was originally for myself, my husband, and our wee little pup. It was our puppy’s first birthday and our wedding anniversary. Sadly, the weekend before we had to send our cat to the other side and so our adult child flew in to say goodbye and grieve with us. We alerted Jay and Darlene of our last minute extra guest which they were kind enough to allow along. This cabin is a dream! I feel we are so lucky to have found it. Plenty of quiet and space for the 3 of us adults and our dog (his crate, his food, his toys, lol!) Plus now my kid was with us for Mother’s Day. Very special. We loved hanging out in the deck and the yard and everything we needed to cook was there too. Plus a washer and dryer. Woohoo! It was easy to use the heaters and the shower water pressure was perfect. Highly recommend. Thanks again for a wonderful time!

We had a lovely visit. The house was clean and tidy. Our 9yo pup had a great time sniffing around the fenced backyard. Communication and support was fantastic. Would visit again!

The cabin was nicely equipped and we loved defensed in backyard for the dog. It was very peaceful and tranquil and we loved the little town up the street. Was a very relaxing weekend, we enjoyed our stay

The cabin is one of the biggest I've rented in Idyllwild. It has a lot of space and a very nice living room. The enclosed backyard was great for my dog I could just let her out back so she could watch for squirrels. The back patio was good to relax on and enjoy the afternoon sun. The heaters worked just fine as did the WiFi. This cabin has a very good VRBO rating and it's well deserved.

I needed a quick get out of Palm Springs break and it was everything I needed. Rustic, basic, quiet, mountains, peaceful And after being a recent relocator from Vail Colorado, it even snowed a little bit and the dogs loved it. Like I said, it was exactly what I needed to clear my head.

Thank you for the great hospitality. I have to say, this is the best stay I had so far from all the places we stayed at, and will be coming back. My pups loved it. The cabin was decorated in very positive a cozy fashion that gave everyone great vibes. Very clean and very spacious. The back yard for the pups is huge. Although, they did not venture too far as they were a bit shy. All the shopping and restaurants near by was a great convenience, with the most awesome sunsets, where the sun just hides itself over the mountain, while you sip on some tasty wine from the local winery. We loved our stay here! Cabin was clean, had everything we needed for a weekend away from the city. We loved the gas fireplace but there is also a wood fire place in the kitchen (we didn’t get around to using it). Backyard was big and spacious but we didn’t use it much bc it was covered in snow during our trip. Thanks for a great stay jay!!

Our whole family enjoyed our stay at the whispering pines cabin. The backyard was perfect for our kids, the cabin had everything we needed and it was a wonderful time for all of us. Can’t wait to come back!

We had a great stay! We didn’t want to leave and will be looking to return soon. The cabin had plenty of comfortable places to sit, which is becoming increasingly rare in VRBOs for some reason, and equally good options for a comfortable night’s sleep. The kitchen was well stocked with necessities for cooking for a weekend away. The only thing we lacked was a blender for morning smoothies but we managed to come up with quieter things to eat just fine. We were warm in the cool temperatures and as I have trouble with asthma, it was nice not to have to burn wood for warmth- there are two electrical fireplaces that kept us warm. There is a charming wood burning fireplace in the kitchen though. I was tempted because it’s been a long time since I’ve had a fire burning in the kitchen. The other benefit was that the inside of the house did not smell of smoke, again for my asthma issue. Parking was easy and even though the house is close to the street, we didn’t hear any noise or neighbors for that matter. The house is like 3 minutes from downtown. Big fenced back yard too. We enjoyed having a washer and dryer handy to toss wet towels in to dry. Everything was easy from check in, the tvs, the heat instructions. All and all, we couldn’t have been happier. Thank you!

We had such a lovely stay. The house and property are so cozy, the bed is really comfortable and the backyard is very spacious which our pup loved! He sniffed every inch! Our only comment is the internet was incredibly slow so don’t expect to be able to watch much tv reliably or surf the internet quickly- but that’s also not why you go to Idyllwild! So it wasn’t a huge issue. We’d recommend the property in a heartbeat!

Wonderful time and great property with everything you need. Very pet friendly which is much appreciated. The owners love bears so see how many bears you can spot in the property when you stay. We stopped counting at 38 to go hiking.

Clean property and very relaxing stay. We visited as it was getting colder at night and the house felt cozy and homey so we slept soundly. The fenced-in backyard was perfect for our pups and it’s located near the town center. Would recommend!

This was perfect for my husband and I and our adult son. The two rooms on either side of the kitchen gave us some space. Our very active rescue dog enjoyed his first back yard experience. We all loved it!

Fantastic cozy place!! My fiancee and I recently went up to Idyllwild with our fur baby, and Whispering Pines was a dream come true for us and our pup. We really enjoyed the lit and fenced backyard for our dog to run around and explore. The place was very clean and we would love to come back again on our next mountain trip!!

sort of old and tired? the bad= only A/C is a small unit in the LR/there is NO disposal in the sink...never have I seen that in any house/no views the GOOD- Jay is the best manager!/everything you could possible want is there/the bedroom heater-fireplace was great for the early cold morning/good neighbors down the block....good mattress,sheets and towels-thank you ! I might have left my darkglasses...Ray Ban?? let me know if you find them- we'll be back up- thanks, Ron

Jay is a excellent host. The cabin was clean, large for my family and the great fenced yard for the dogs. Comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen with nice appliances. The village was beautiful with a short distance to cabin. Since we follow keto and vegan lifestyle we cooked our meals in the kitchen, but we did go out for coffee and dinner. We really enjoyed our stay in Jays place. Highly recommended.

Great communication with Jay! The place was easy to find. It was an extremely snowy weekend but a fun one. Wish we could have enjoyed the big backyard with our pooch but there was way too much snow. We’ll head back for sure!

We really enjoyed our stay at Jay and Darlene's cabin. They provided excellent communication prior to our arrival and added some local tips. The fenced in backyard was awesome and our pup loved running around and chasing his ball back there. The cabin is close to town and the neighborhood is quite and enjoyable to walk around. Even as light sleepers, we got a peaceful night's sleep every night. We really appreciated that! We had every accommodation we needed, and the bed was comfy. Will definitely be back!

My whole family plus dog stayed here during the holiday. Good size for 4-5 people. Quiet neighborhood. Full kitchen with all the utensils needed. Many small touches to make us feel at home. Very easy check-in and out process with no human interaction. The owner is very responsive and considerate.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Whispering Pines. The cabin layout allows room to move around but still feels warm and cozy. Fireplaces in every room add to the charm. The fenced yard was great for our pup, allowing room to run and play. Finally, the host was readily available, much appreciated. We often run away from home to Idyllwild and definitely hope to stay here again.
