About this chalet rental
Conveniently located 3 minutes to Stratton Mountain, 15 minutes to Bromley, 15 minutes to Magic Mountain, 30 minutes to Mount Snow, and 35 minutes to Okemo ski areas. Great chalet set up perfectly for the summer outdoors or winter skiing with storage right by the entrance for your gear. Relax in the hot tub overlooking a gorgeous sunset across the valley. Retire to the oversized great room and get cozy in front of the wood fireplace. Enjoy a friendly game of foosball or break out some of the classic board games from years ago. The kitchen comes fully stocked with all the dishes you need as well as a coffee maker to help you get ready for your assault on the mountain! The house does have air conditioning but it's only in the master bedroom on the top floor - so please be aware there is no air conditioning in the rest of the house!
Grill is waiting for the grill master in the group to offer up their culinary contributions to the perfect getaway. There is a propane tank there and you can fill it at the bottom of the hill at the Seven Eleven (tank filling is not included in your stay).
Sleeping Arrangements
There are two master bedrooms that each have their own bathroom with wide views over the valley. There are an additional two rooms in the main hall: one with two twin bunk beds (total of 4 beds) and the other room with a bunk bed that has a double bed on bottom with a twin bed on top. Downstairs is a sleeper futon for two. For those that need the additional bed, there is a cot in the closet of the main floor master bedroom, for max sleeping arrangements of 14. Linens and towels are provided for these beds. If you intend to sleep someone on the couch or anywhere else, please be aware that additional blankets, linens, and towels are not provided.
Entertainment
There are three TVs, all with Chromecasts hooked up to the TV. YoutubeTV is included as a part of your stay, but you are able to cast anything from your phone as long as you are on the WiFi network. We have gigabit internet service from Xfinity to support all of your devices. Classic board games and a foosball table are there for use as well for all to enjoy.
What's provided?
We'll help get you started by providing several basic things upon check-in. These are meant to help you avoid an immediate trip to the store, but are not intended to cover your entire stay.
dish soap
paper towels
laundry detergent
toilet paper
trash bags
towels
linens
Parking
There is enough parking for 4 cars. Parking on the street is not permitted as it blocks the road for others as well as the plow in the winter season. Vehicles may be towed at owner's expense.
We do have a cleaning fee of $375. This fee covers towels, linens, and the normal cleaning of the house but just as importantly the cost of cleaning the hot tub each time someone checks in to ensure each renter has a clean and clear hot tub for their immediate use!
Need more room?
We also have a ski-in ski-out townhome right on Stratton that has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. It's a great option for those groups that are large and want to have the benefit of a retreat off the mountain with a place to take a break right off the slopes.

As a yearly VRBO renter I am accustom to renting a few houses and this one had some disappointing takes and some great attributes. First the houses layout and location is great for a large get together and the views are amazing!
But apon arriving you could first tell the slate entry way and door knob was in need of repair. From there we had a few other dissapointments, the dishes were dirty, scattered about the kitchen. Towels were damp and we later learned why, it was because the dryer simply didn’t have any heat and the lint trap was completely full. All of our clothes took well over 3 hours of it running just to get them so they weren’t soaked. One chair in the dining room is about to fall apart, the king bed is coming apart and the downstairs bathroom needs attention.
Knowing there was a grill up there, we brought steaks but were quickly denied that option as the grill had pieces thrown about the inside and had a weird white growth within it. After some investigation on the white growth we found 2 fire extinguishers were completely empty in the house (one being on the fire mantel) so I am to assume they were used on the grill and then placed back in their spot’s completely empty.
Final issue was all the trash along the hillside distracting from the beautiful view. I made a deal with my nephew, for every piece of trash he brought up I’d give him 25 cents… well he quit after 200 pieces ranging from beer can bottles to teapots even two large pieces of cardboard.

The thermostat never reached set temperature and stayed at a constant 64F hours after we checked in; way below normal human body temperature of 98F. We had to leave the property several times to purchase firewood to keep warm and even after burning several bundles, the only area that was warm was directly in front of the fireplace. The master bedroom never reached above 45F. Four hours after check in, the pipes froze leaving us with no running water. The dining area window had a huge 5 feet gap along its side that we had to stuff with potholders and towels to keep whatever heat we had from escaping during the worst winter vortex in the northeast with 55mph wind and NEGATIVE 21F temperature. Fearing for the safety of the family with hypothermia, mainly our 18mo old grandson, we called a local ski resort for a next day check in. We reached out to the owner the night of check in and had no response until 12 hours later after we left.
Regardless of inclining weather, when a property owner doesn’t response or help remediate dire conditions that is not only uninhabitable but out right dangerous, they should not be listing it to the public. We have photos and video for all of these claims and will be turning it over to our attorney.

Perfect spot to enjoy the views and hang out together. Great location to hop over to Manchester for food and shopping and Danby for horseback riding!

What a great rental. Beautiful place. Very clean, comfortable, everything we needed for our short stay! Views are beautiful! Way bigger house then 2 of us needed but it was worth it. Only downfall was the king mattress in the downstairs master, hard, uncomfortable. Loved that all showers had shampoo/conditioner, body soap, usually never see that. Kyle was great to communicate with any questions or concerns. Will definitely rent again.

We chose this house for a vacation trip for our family plus another couple, with plans for hiking and fishing as well as hanging out all together, and everything worked out even better than we could have expected! The house is halfway up Stratton mountain, with views from the dining room, living room, and deck across a valley to another range of mountains. Every day (we were fortunate in the weather) as we cooked and ate dinner and sat in the hot tub we were treated spectacular sunsets. The living room has excellent seating for reading and conversation, and there is also a separate quiet space with a desk on the upper level which is very convenient when needed. The owner was very responsive to questions, and sent around a handyman right away when he learned of a minor issue that needed a repair. The location of the house is terrific, with many choices for hikes in beautiful surroundings - trailheads leading to mountain tops, waterfalls, lakes are all within a 30 minute drive. Nearby there are also farm markets and other shopping. A perfect vacation!

Lovely home.
The house was beautiful, and looked just like the pictures. Only issues were that the hot tub never really got hot enough, but was warm enough to be somewhat relaxing. We had no problem using the TV in the main room, but could not get anything on the ones in the bedrooms, or basement room. Most of the drawer pulls, and cabinet door pulls were very loose, I tightened all that I could, and the doorknob for the upstairs bedroom was about to fall off, so I tightened it as well. All the Allen bolts for the foosball table legs were very loose as well, but as I didn't have a wrench for it, I got them finger tight only. There is a row of tile in the kitchen by the refrigerator that are loose, one was broken in three pieces, this photographed and emailed to the vrbo sight upon our check-in. Trash hadn't been emptied so the trash and recycling cans by the entrance door were already full when we arrived. Also, the grill on the deck would light, but because there was no back or botton drip panel, the wind prevented it from staying lit. Also, there was no brush for cleaning the grill, and previous users hadn't cleaned it. Some lightbulbs were either blown or missing. The upstairs bedroom appears to be the Master Suite, but only has queen sized bed, should be a King, while the downstairs large bedroom with smaller bath had a King. They should be swapped. Lastly it appears prior guests had dumped trash in various places on the hillside beneath the deck, which detracted some from the beautiful view. Overall though we very much enjoyed our stay, was very relaxing, and we enjoyed it very much. Thank you for allowing us to stay and enjoy your place.

Warm cozy cabin perfect location
We came from MD to ski for the week. We skied Stratton (4 miles from house), Bromley (9 miles from house), Mt. Snow (13 miles from house) so easy to get to all ski resorts. House had hot tub which was wonderful after a full day of skiing. Fireplace was an added bonus for the cozy cabin feel. House and rooms were clean and spacious. The views from main great room are amazing. Owner was accessible and kind when communicating. Snow was shoveled and driveway was cleared before we woke up. Would come back next time we come north to ski!

Beautiful home
We had a wonderful visit at this home. The house is beautiful and cozy and definitely has the perfect vermont vibe we were all looking forward too. The layout of the home is very unique and offered plenty of space if you wanted a quiet space to read or work.
After a day of skiing, the hot tub came in very handy for the sore muscles. Then we went inside and warmed ourselves by the gorgeous fireplace in the great room.
When I had questions the owner was extremely responsive. I would highly recommend this home to anyone wanting a quiet vermont vacation.

Great Weekend Away
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this property. The house itself was clean, spacious, and had relaxing views out of all of the windows, looking out over the hills, particularly beautiful this time of year (October). The location for us was great, we enjoyed the Fall activities at Stratton Mountain one day, did a lot of hiking the other days, and even a rainy day was enjoyed just relaxing in front of the fireplace, and then doing some shopping in nearby Manchester. The host, Kyle, was readily available via email or text and checked in with us virtually to be sure all was well. There was an unforeseen issue with the hot tub that arose just before our trip, and Kyle let us know about that ahead of time and offered to compensate us for that upfront, much appreciated! I would recommend this property and this location to anyone who wants some Fall fun in Vermont.

Great house near Stratton
Everyone who stayed at the house with me was impressed by how nice it was - very spacious and well appointed with a great view from the deck and hot tub, and close proximity to Stratton village. Everything worked fine and we had a great time. It was pretty humid outside so if you're staying in summer, be prepared for that as the house has no central a/c (only a/c is in upstairs bedroom).
