First of all, I would definitely recommend this listing for anyone looking for a reasonably priced and well situated place on Smith Mountain Lake. Parking is great, the condo has everything one needs, and our stay was calm and quiet.
That said, complaints about the bed in other reviews are warranted. I think the mattress is just really soft, and my wife and I ended up rolling together every night and did not rest very well. The washer and dryer are not in the actual condo, and I'm not sure that is clear from the listing we saw. There were a couple of small condition issues, and no spare TP. There are some written check out instructions in the condo, but none in the listing.
Again, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this listing.

Just what we were looking for! My husband and our small dog and I wanted a cozy affordable rental for a long weekend while our daughter is at a Virginia Tech program. Ricky texted us that we could go early and we did. Condo was just right for us, comfy bed, new Lazyboy sofa, granite countertops in the kitchen, really cool bathroom tiling and the pool was awesome, much better than the photos. Salt water pool I think it was, and we floated in the provided tubes for hours after playing in the lake at the state park. I’d recommend the condo for 2-3 people- it’s a studio so about the size of a hotel room plus the full kitchen. Groceries and gas about 7 min away at White House corner store, Mitchell’s Marina and restaurant and ice cream is an awesome hang out spot (about 20 min drive or take a boat there). Condo location was perfect being only a few minutes from Smith Mountain Lake state park with a great beach with concessions, kayak and boat rentals, and nice trails that go along the water where you can take a swim. I’m glad we booked 3 nights/ 4 days and got lucky with 3 great weather days. One day it rained and there isn’t much to do and limited tv channels so we went to Roanoke City Market and a brewery (Big Lick- where you can bring your dog indoors). Oh and yes condo has awesome sunsets:) Thanks for a great stay!

Hard to shut screen door. Smelled somewhat musty covered up with airfreshener.

This property is perfect. Clean and organized with everything you could need, an easy check in process, and a very communicative host! The condo is well furnished with a cute waterfront balcony (chairs provided!) and has everything you need (coffee, mugs, dishes, ice maker, cable TV, dvd). The pool also has plenty of seating options as well as a covered pergola with patio furniture that’s perfect for watching the beautiful sunsets on the lake. Fire pit on the property is very nice. Overall, the condo is a quiet and centrally located spot for a perfect trip to the water. We will absolutely be back.

The condo was as-listed and worked out for us well enough (family of four). The host was responsive and the location was great. Nice bathroom, lovely balcony. Didn't get to use the pool due to thunderstorms, but it was clean. But there were a few shortcomings in the unit: floors were dirty; loud, squeaky pull-out couch; the bed had a sinkhole in the middle but was otherwise comfortable. I couldn't connect to WiFi. It's fine in a pinch with these expectations.

All as noted. Comfortable and clean. Nice balcony view and quiet neighborhood. We would return

Clean place, friendly host, peaceful area, and just all around an amazing place to stay.

Great condo! Just exactly right for the two of us and our little Sheltie! The owner was very prompt to answer a few questions that we had. The balcony is darling and the sunsets and sunrise are fantastic- as promised!
The pool looked very inviting but it was a stormy weekend so we didn't get a chance to use it.
We did enjoy the jetted tub! Plenty of hot water for a relaxing soak after a long day!
This property is wonderful! You will enjoy it!
Very convenient to a lot of things!

Listed as wheelchair accessible. A wheelchair could enter but that is all. The bathroom door was too narrow to allow a walker. Nothing about the bathroom was accessible. Standard height toilet and no grab bars. My wife was unable to use the tub/shower.

This place is not worth the price I paid for 2 nights. The pictures of the sunset are not taken from the room. The bed is stuffed between 2 walls and very uncomfortable. Tv, could not get any stations worth watching unless we paid for it. The cleaning fee I paid should be refunded. Bathroom tub has black mold growing under the faucet and on the inside of the tub edge at the tile line. The tile wasn’t finished on the face of the tub.it is a one person bathroom. I could go on but it’s not worth the time. I will say that who ever designed this room did not know what they were doing. I will not recommend this rental unit to anyone. Very disappointing for the $359 that I had to pay for this two night stay. The so-called best sunset ever, is not true. You have to walk to the waters edge to get any pictures. No pictures from the room. Could not see the sunset.👎

Close to swimming, fishing, boating, and hiking. Rickey made check-in easy, even with flight delays. Would love to come back for a longer stay.

The property is itself a good. But the website doesn't have enough information to state what is available (crockery, iron, tea) and what is not available (like soaps, coffee) and how far the nearest grocery store is.

We enjoyed our stay very much.

I live in the area and needed some place for additional guests to stay. It was perfect! The owner Ricky was great to work with!!
4.7
Rickey was an excellent communicator which always starts a trip off right. The condo was updated beyond what the current pictures show, which was a nice surprise. It was clean and had everything we needed. The air conditioning worked great.
The condo space was a bit tight with four adults. That isn’t a negative, it’s just something guests should consider. I was staying with my adult sister and parents for Father’s Day. There wasn’t much privacy or room for our bags. It definitely sleeps four, but may be better suited for a family of four with small children or for a couple.
I loved that I could bring my pet. I loved the view of the water. There were deer everywhere and Smith Mountain Lake is such an incredible place.
I look forward to coming back in the future with my spouse for another incredible weekend on the lake! Thanks Rickey!

Our visit to the condo was perfect! Location is ideal & unit is very cozy & comfortable. Looked small in the photos but we were pleasantly surprised at how roomy it was. Check in & entry was easy & Rickey was quick to answer any questions we had. He was also very accommodating when we asked to extend our stay for an addl night. Marina is down the street, easy for us to have water access for our boat. Loved it!!! Hope to visit again soon…

Property was just as described. Clean, spacious, comfortable beds, nice and updated bathroom and kitchen and all basic necessities. AC worked great and check in process very simple. Need updated pictures to show new furniture and updates! :)
We’ll be back :)

This was a great place, and the host was very responsive. The neighborhood was quiet and safe, but deer are everywhere, so be aware if you are driving at dusk or later.
When we were there, we did have to clean spiderwebs off the porch before sitting out there, and the AC did not chill or condition the air. However, we opened the doors and had some great cross-draft to cool the place down when it was too warm indoors.
You are about a 20-30 minute drive from anything other than a gas station and pizza place.

I was in town for the annual triathlon and this was the perfect place to rest before and after the event. Quiet and comfortable.

Our purpose for renting this condo was to go fishing at Smith Mountain Lake. When we arrived, we saw that the parking lot was very small and with a small 16’ bass boat in tow, we were confused as to where we were supposed to park the boat. Fortunately, we were able to get a hold of the property owner and he explained he was surprised to hear that we brought a bass boat to a fishing lake. Yes, I said he was surprised we brought a fishing boat to a fishing lake. He advised us that we had to go to a local marina which fortunately was only about five minutes away, and check and see if there were any boat slips available. This put us in a pretty awkward position because if there are no boat slips available and we cannot park at the condo, we are in quite the dilemma. Fortunately again, the marina folks were wonderful and they did have a slip for us to park our boat for the week. However, this cost us an additional $25 per night.
The condo itself we thought was very clean. The owner of the condo was very helpful whenever we did have issues such as the bed sheets were one size too small and had to be replaced with the correct size. And overall, I think it’s a very lovely little condo.
Also be aware that the advertised price does not reflect the plethora of other fees that you will pay which then has you paying more. I’m not saying it’s not worth it. I’m just saying, beware. And also if you’re bringing a boat, make sure you call ahead to the marina to ensure that there is a place to park your boat otherwise you could be in a very sticky situation.
It’s a beautiful area and you’ll love the many deer that seem almost tame browsing in the fields off of the road. The lake is amazing but the fishing was atrocious. Maybe it was because it was late July. Maybe it was because of the hundreds of jet skis, pontoon boats and fast ski boats all competing for space and the residue of gasoline on the lake surface from this activity was quite visible.
Maybe. But I’ve fished many lakes throughout the US and Canada in late July and never had problems catching fish. We even switched to dawn and sunset hours and still it was terrible. Our saving grace was night fishing off of a dock for catfish. We did catch a few that way. The Bass wouldn’t even bite in the late evenings around 10-12 pm. A few of the locals at the bait shops and the Marinas told me they never fished there until late fall. That says a lot.

We enjoyed our stay and the proximity to our wedding we attended at the Marina. The fold out bed was even quite comfy for my daughter!
