Welcome to Kuilima Estates, the condo property located on the grounds of world-renowned Turtle Bay. The condos are surrounded by two beautifully manicured golf courses and are the only condos on the North Shore. This is a great place to relax, rewind, and restore, and a world away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The condo property is a short walk to the hotel and to a lovely, sheltered, coved beach, where you can swim, snorkel, and surf. We have our pools, with lounge chairs, an outdoor shower, and charcoal BBQ grills. Bring your own equipment and play tennis on our courts at no charge. Experience the comforts of home as you experience aloha!
Since we are in a tropical environment, it is common to see insects and geckos in the condos. No amount of spraying will completely eliminate insects, especially ants.

The condo was okay. Good location and close to the beach and to the Turtle Bay Resort

The WiFi wasn’t working upon arrival, but after calling the property manager’s office someone came out to check it very quickly. He was very personable & courteous. The unit could use a little updating and/or upgrading but all in all it was okay. The beddings need to be changed, especially in the downstairs bedroom. I kept thinking of Monk and his sheets he traveled with!! As we were checking out, the same friendly gentleman was in the parking lot and said they were bringing in a new bed.

Nice resort setting and beautiful beaches that easily accessible from this location. The property is outdated and in need of some minor repairs, but was great for what we needed!

What began as a beautiful stay turned dark very quickly.
We awoke on the last morning of a 7 night stay to voices of a few men and noise/fumes of a backhoe digging a ditch in the adjacent yard.
The inconvenience of the noise, not having use of the back space, having to keep the rear door shut, and having our beautiful view obstructed by large machinery and the noxious fumes…let alone the safety issue of having an open ditch a mere few steps from the back door...certainly not part of the bargain.
Maybe getting early notice wasn’t possible, but having to pivot our plans so quickly on the last day of our stay was a major hassle.
Additionally, my daughter informed me Saturday morning that her carpet was wet on both sides of the double bed (and likely underneath the entire thing)...lo and behold, we saw two tiny mushrooms sprouting against the wall. She couldn't stay in that room as the fungus emitted an unpleasant odor.
It's very likely the moisture in that first floor bedroom is directly related to whatever issue the digging was addressing.
Haven't had much success communicating with the property managers at Estates at Turtle Bay...they're directing me to the folks I booked with...Red Awning/VRBO. Unfortunate.

Beautiful compound
Seamless process. However never heard back on whether water in unit was potable or how to access tennis courts.

Smoking
More clarification on where to smoke. I do not smoke, but some other family members do. Need to be more specific as to where. I do not condone smoking, but it is not up to me to tell others not to smoke. It’s a matter of choice. Enjoyed the weekend though!

I am there for work so staying in the condo makes it feel like I have a place to go home to instead of just another hotel room.

The towels were a little smelly. I thought the woman at the key pick-up could have been a bit more helpful about additional parking--although rules were sent. If I were not a kamaaina, I might be annoyed about attitude; if I did not know more about the property, I might be extremely worried during the stay that something would happen to my car--especially if I had a rental.

The Air con wasnt working properly this needs fixing as it got hot often. Thanks for the Stay!

Given that the property is not on the water and is older with small pools and no jacuzzi, it is very clean, quiet, pleasant and well-equipped.

great location for our family vacation. had repeated trouble with internet connection. The furniture is shabby and the place could use some paint...however, enjoyed our stay in paradise and the convenience of a condo instead of hotel.

Hawaii is our home away from home - Turtle Bay was beautiful and the grounds were well manicured and maintained. Location was perfect since our family gathering was in Laie. The unit we were in seemed old and outdated but livable. We had other family members who stayed at the estates and had much nicer accomodations. I will definitely recomend The Estates but not unit 022 West.

Enjoyed the condo. Very convenient location to the golf course. Additonally, there was a Fourth of July Fair at which our family enjoyed food and entertainment. Great fireworks.

I enjoyed my stay very much. The only thing that wasn't nice was the ants in the unit, and the ceiling fan in the living didn't work. I know it's Hawaii, and you have to expect bugs, but still.... Not huge problems, but I might have given all 5 stars if not for them. The late check in process was exactly like described, nice and smooth.

There is an ant problem in Unit W22 that needs to be addressed.
2.0 / 5.0
We only had two problems: 1. We were not prepared for the mosquitoes that came out each night; and 2. There was a storm that blew over power poles on the north shore. We ended up without any power for approximately 24 hours.
We will definitely come again and stay at the same place, but we will bring the insect repellent.

Great for a 4th of July getaway. Lots of ants in this room. Nearby pool was for adults only and empty. Kids had to walk across the parking lot to another pool. Pool and area should be better maintained. Lots of bird poop.

The location was fabulous , the thoughts of being able to make my own breakfast, tea and coffee even better as there are very few places for a sit down for breakfast on the North Shore. The bathroom certainly should have been detailed to at least appear clean. The caulking and grout were not clean. The toilet required maintenance through out our stay. The tub looked filthy though I am sure it is just the age of the facility. the bed linens were ripped and should have never been placed on the bed as they were only good for rags. The kitchen was clean and was surprisingly well stocked w/ equipment and utensils but overall the place needed to be detailed , updated and painted. Maybe its island living but I was expecting the place to feel a little "crisper". When you rent a place to several people through out the year you don't want to feel like you are moving in to someone's dirt.

The good Parts... The resort is within walking distance, nice beach at the resort, resort has things to do, nice condo pools, nice hiking on property, close to North shore and great beaches

Dishwasher gets stuck on wash cycle and continues running.

We enjoyed the unit and it's beautiful location. It is quite a walk to a beach that is not the resort's property. You feel like you don't belong at the resort since the condos are separate. The closest beaches are too rocky for swimming. But overall, the unit was quiet and comfortable, the setting is gorgeous and we would love to return.

Another great staycation through the Estates at Turtle Bay. My husband said he liked this unit the best, of the 3 that we have stayed in this year. It was clean, no bugs, very comfortable beds; overall super.

Our stay at Turtle Bay
The rental experience was outstanding. Karen was great in helping us book the rooms and accommodating our needs. The rooms were fantastic and everything that we imagined they would be.

Unhappy and hot
Before we left we received an email with different codes to get in then previously sent. It was confusing which we were supposed to use. The bedroom downstairs AC unit was extremely loud and mostly covered by a night stand . The mattress cover did not fit the mattress and every night the bottom sheet would come off. The advertised amount of how many it would sleep is 6. I had 4 boys and my husband with me . One kid slept in the loft and 2 on the master bed and one on the floor of the master . The couch was too small for any of them to sleep on. There was no AC through the main living areas other then the 2 bedrooms . It was humid and the rental unit was unbearable unless you stayed in a bedroom. The extra standing fan which one of the boys used in the loft , broke over the weekend . When I called the after hours line I was told that I had to wait until Monday. My kiddo was boiling in the loft without it. The refrigerator was leaking water from above and got all my food wet. I don’t remember if AC was advertised however it would have been such a better experience if AC was installed especially for hot humid summer days. If not , at least provide a few more standing fans. Only one standing fan for the entire unit was not enough.

Great Two Bedroom Condo on the North Shore
Enjoyed staying at this clean and comfortable two bedroom unit near to the beach, local markets and eateries. We enjoyed the swimming pool after a hot day at the beach.

Enjoyed our stay where we rented 2 units for our family. Just a few comments--dried laundry was left in the dryer from cleaning, quilt in 22 smelled moldy. Would have appreciated having a hair dryer available. All in all very nice. Appreciated the nice set of frying pans to cook.

We were very careful with our food and still had ants, and the a/c units were not very good but we didn't need it much. Other than that the accommodations were just right for us and we had a great time.
