Very characterful city centre house. Comfortable with easy access from the station. The host was very helpful and welcoming. Basically had everything needed for a short stay. My

The property was fabulous and a perfect base for us to explore York. Unfortunately, our friends had their holiday spoilt as they were in the front bedroom opposite what we now know is a 24hr McDonalds. They were kept awake most of the night by drunken shouting and fighting. I supposed when you notice on your first night that the McDonalds has two security guards outside, you should guess there may be problems. At this point though we thought it would shut at 12 or 1pm. Unfortunately, this was not the case. We were also saddened to have to step over a homeless person sleeping in the doorway on the first morning we woke up there. Not the property owners fault or the homeless person but not what we were expecting. The property is great and has everything you could need, the sound of the bells chiming coming from The Minster is charming and the location is perfect but if you want a good night's sleep I would suggest this may not be for you - unless they change the opening times of McDonalds. The owners provide earplugs but as a parent you wouldn't want to go to sleep with earplugs in knowing your children may wake up in the night and shout for you.

The location is amazing - right in the very center of York, just a block from the Minster. There are pedestrian streets all around, great pubs and shops. The house is arranged over four floors, which is fun and quirky, but might be an issue for people who aren't good with stairs. The bedrooms are all very good size with comfortable beds. The large front bedroom did have some loud street noise late at night (a Monday & Tuesday night), but the rest were perfectly quiet. The owner provides earplugs if you need them. Plenty of bathrooms - in fact we didn't even find the fourth (a powder room) on the first floor landing till the last day! There was an issue with the shower door not closing in one of the bathrooms which meant it couldn't be used, but the bathrooms were all nicely updated in general. The home is very charming, furnished with antiques, and has a comfortable, slightly worn feeling, which is very fitting to the location. The keypad entry was great, allowing each of us to come and go independently. Communication was great and self-check in was easy - I would recommend staying here, especially for families or groups of friends.

Excellent accommodation, well equipped, comfortable and warm. The bedrooms and bathrooms were perfect for a larger group. In an excellent location with parking close by. York has something for everyone but a bonus was hearing the Minster bells each day. Great places to shop, eat and drink. We are hoping to return .
