About this apartment rental
Our house is a very old typical cave house ,cave houses are digged in the lava of the volcano. and are at the edge of the cliff .
it is in the oldest neighborhood of Oia next to the castle the best spot to watch the sunset .
We are in the centre of all the activities shops restaurants s.markets of the busiest pedestrian road, ta the same time going 35 steps down our guests drop in another century finding the absolute calmness of a Greek island.
Three separated houses with a very big sheared veranda along,
designed with such a way that each house has a discreet privacy.
HOUSE 2 : 24,07m2 Veranda 21,90m2
the house is based in the idea of open space ,there are two double beds, in mezzanines (facing each other) one bathroom, a living room area with couches , and a fully equipped kitchen,WiFi, fans and heating for winter months, And of course the hot spot of the house is the super privileged terrace with 180 degrees view , the whole caldera of Sandorini island in front of you , the volcano and Thirasia island on your right. In whatever bed you sleep in House 2 there is a small window facing the view from the upper levels of the house. We have tried to keep the tradition of the cave houses and interfere as less as possible with the natural form so there is no separation of rooms in order to get advantage of the light in the whole house. The privacy for each room here again is cleverly approached.
The Cave House does not have an air-condition, as the temperature remains constant over time.

We had 5 days of full happiness and with impressive views. My contact person Mary did an amazing job with a couple of our questions as she responded immediately, and help us coordinate the transportation to and from Ferry. Also the extra help of helping us carrying the heaviest suitcases. A very nice Welcome with complementary bottle of wine!
Daily friendly & cleaning services of the Cave. Our experience of living inside this Caldera Cave Houses was unforgettable!
We will definitely be returning, next time party of 6.
Thank you,
Jorge, Lilly, Trey & Christina!

We wanted to experience the true “cave home” experience and this beautiful home did not disappoint. There was plenty of room for our family of four (our daughters, 16 and 18, were happy to share a bed. Definitely not a place for anyone with vertigo as the steps and ladder to both bedrooms are quite steep, but add to the charm of the home’s layout.
Be prepared to fight hordes of tourists to get to and from the home as it’s situated close to one of the busier arteries of Oia.
In hindsight I might have splurged for a unit with AC or a pool (or both), but if you aren’t fussy, this place won’t disappoint.

The cave house is large, beautiful, and everything works great. Communication is via WhatsApp, or direct phone call. The hot water must be an on-demand unit, it gets boiling hot! There are lots of stairs, but that is the charm of Oia. There is help checking in and out if you need it, just let the hosts know. We had no issues, I would not hesitate to book it again. Thanks Caldera Houses!

Beautiful views & great location. Minutes away from old castle & views of sunsetting. Quick & easy access to shopping, restaurants, bars etc. Great caldera views with table & chairs on deck to relax in.. Got quite hot though inside & did not cool off at night
