Perfect location, super close to Jenness State Beach, which was amazing. The house had great amenities and essentially had everything we needed, just wished it was cleaner. Bathrooms and linens were clean, but there was pet fur and dead bugs everywhere, dirt and dust and sticky residue on many surfaces. But if you can overlook that and more you’re looking for the perfect spot in terms of location, this is it! Thanks for accommodating us!

We rented the house for a family vacation due to location, pool, and VRBO ratings. We were disappointed. Vacasa is not properly cleaning the house or managing the rental. The local team was unresponsive our entire trip. Dead decaying mouse in pool, dirty dishes in cabinets, dog hair on sheets. I could go on. House needs a deep clean. Hope pool is treated before next guests get there as other rodent and frog issues. Waiting for Vacasa to make it right,

Would definitely stay here again! My family and I had a wonderful time . The house is spacious and clean. The large deck with table and chairs , as well as the pool were so nice to have. We are beach people and the house being so close was fantastic!

Great family house, close to the beach and a fenced in yard with a pool so the whole family can go on vacation including the dogs.

Perfect space for a couple of nights with our family. Location is great, with the Rye beach just a 5 minute walk away. Interior of the house is a little dated, but was great for our needs. The pool, deck and exterior space was the highlight of the stay. The yard is very nicely landscaped, and overall an excellent space to hang out with family and friends to relax and take it easy.

It was our second time staying at the house and it was equally as awesome in the winter as it was in the fall. The house has a warm, cozy feel with such a great New England beach vibe:-) I highly recommend this home it checks all the boxes!

We had the most wonderful stay. The home is lovely and the back yard is beyond amazing. It was the nicest few days I've spent in far too long. My parents are both recovering from major health issues, and they were so relaxed and happy it moved me to tears.
Thank you for sharing this oasis.
We're so grateful.

This house was perfect for us and our two dogs. The pool and spacious background was amazing, and the interior was quite comfortable. The location near the beach and restaurants and breweries was impossible to beat. Easy 10/10.

Our family had a wonderful time in Rye. The house exceeded our expectations. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The fireplace was warm and cozy. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed making waffles and coffee in the morning! The beautifully decorated! The beds were comfortable with plenty of blankets too. The location was perfect a short walk to the beach .We would also recommend eating at a nearby restaurant Atlantic Grille.” We would definitely love to stay in this lovely house again!

The Allen House offered comfortable, clean accommodations in a residential setting just a few minutes' walk from the beach. It was quiet, well-maintained, and the private pool in July was lovely. We would definitely go back again.

Loved our trip to the Allen House. Stayed for a week and we really enjoyed ourselves and our dog even had the best vacation ever. Dog friendly, a 5 minute walk to the beach with a fabulous pool/backyard/deck; what else can you ask for? We will be back!

Overall a great house!
We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay. It is an older home, but well maintained and nicely appointed. Everything you need is there for you. The only little picky thing I would says is the paper products provided and sheets could be better/softer quality. But, overall a great house near the beach and we would stay there again!!!

Pictures Can Be Deceiving
Simply said, the house was neglected and dirty. We stayed for 11 nights and my husband sent this email to VACASA on day 4.
"Chastity,
Thank you again for your attention to our issues with the property, and especially the visit and fix. We had a rugged start to our stay in Portsmouth. We spoke to 4 other ladies with no help or even return calls. My wife sent pictures of the specific issues. All of this should be in the above referenced file(ZG4MCECS). The rental was very expensive for our stay and we expected more for the money invested. Certainly, we never expected to resolve this at the end of day 4.
As Chastity and I discussed, we expect a reply and refund to our satisfaction.
Bill McCrery"
These are some of our issues:
Smoke dectector detached from wall and sitting on kitchen counter- useless
Full length mirror attached to bedroom door shattered
Oven filled with grease
Trash pile next to deck
FILTHY bathroom rugs , to dirty to steop on(replaced them at our expense)
Cluttered and dirty kitchen cabinets.
Large stains o kitchen rug
Upstairs bath window didn't work
3 TVs, only one works no wifi connection, no cable boxes
No code provided for garage doors
Back deck had not been blown off or swept clean
No beach chairs
ABYSMAL SERVICE FROM VACASA!!!

Beautiful but with added amenities it would be ideal vacation home!
We had a great stay while our husbands/significant others played in a local men’s softball tourney. We BBQed on the huge deck, and enjoyed the time both in and out of the house. However, despite being such a beautiful listing we were naive to think central air would be expected. It was a weekend stay, with temps reaching 90+ and the thermostat set to 68 (when we initially assumed central air), the heat made being indoors or outdoors outright uncomfortable. We realized the morning after an extremely hot first night of tossing and turning—windows open too, that there were AC units in closets. I did not expect to have to be responsible for placing those in windows, nor did we want to disrupt our stay with the management company coming to do this for us, so we waited for the guys to return home and put in windows for us. This is a high risk to put on renters to do, for both the property and possible injury to the renter. Even with the AC units in, the back sitting area by the deck was too hot to comfortably sit in since there were only large panes of windows in that room that do not open. It was also unfortunate to know that the pool wasn’t being opened until mid-June (a week or two after our stay). But also a surprise to see no cover on the murky green water filled pool. We had a little puppy with us that we couldn’t let down in the yard to roam because of the lack of cover on the murky pool. If you can plan to open the pool at least a month earlier going forward, you’d have a lot of happy renters! (The summer is short enough as is in New England!) Despite the heat and lack of pool to cool us off, the management company was a pleasure to work with in the days leading to and during our stay! Kitchen was fully stocked and we enjoyed cooking each day. Would definitely come back if central air was installed!

Home was beautiful
Although the weather for our stay was horrible, we made the best of our 2nights staying in. Definitely Looking to come back mid summer, so we can enjoy the beach without wind & rain. As well as the out-door space & pool that we didn’t get to use.
