Irritated but survived

Location

The Wi-Fi code was not provided for the first night despite repeated phone and email request which totally messed up my work plans. No acknowledgement of receipt of requests for this or a simple apology. No response and action taken to address microwave that didn’t work which messed up all my eating and working plans. Plates only provided on 2nd day. Extremely poor communication. Damp all over ceiling and walls. Smelt like room’s been used for smoking for years. Think the flat must have been run by a bot.

Basic, shabby studio apartment on 6th floor of high rise building with no working lifts 😩

Decent bathroom and the location was great for the town centre.

The property is on the 6th floor of a high rise building which is not stated anywhere and the lifts do not work. The stairway is very dirty leading up to the apartment and there is broken windows. The apartment is sold as a one bedroom apartment but in fact is a studio. It is classed as a modern apartment but the only things modern about it are the bathroom and the kitchen area really. Furniture is shabby and the flooring is in need of attention, there is holes in the wall and not to mention the damp water marks on the ceiling. There is one small window that you can see out of and not enough ventilation. The building is situated on a very busy road where cars seem to race away at the lights and this goes on all night and sounds very noisy even 6 floors up. The bed is pushed up right against the wall and gives the impression of student accommodation with a wardrobe that is falling apart. We were told with 2 days before arrival that the lifts weren’t working and they would not give us a discount. This did not give us enough time to find alternative accommodation in the right location. Having looked at reviews since, the lifts have been out of order for a while but I think that they should really be upfront and honest about this before offering this accommodation. All in all not a very nice building or apartment although it is located in a useful area but certainly would never stay there again!!

Lifts were broken and we were on the 6th floor. No notification of this when we booked. The stairs on the way to our room were covered in faeces, a pile of rubbish on the stairs had a note on 'whoever did this I hope you and your family dies', windows were boarded up and the smell was disgusting. Our room had mould around the window, water stains on much of the ceiling, mouldy food in a cupboard, food splashes in kitchen area, and hair, fluff and crumbs on the floor. This whole experience was very unpleasant and at times I felt unsafe entering and exiting the property.

Maidstone Fawlty Towers.

Nothing to like except the agent was helpful and found us another apartment but we eventually decided to return to London as the sleeping arrangements were unsuitable.

Apartment on 7th floor and no elevators working. I am 80 years old and had to carry luggage to the 7th Floor! Key lock code didn't work and couldn't get into the room! Should not be offered through Airbnb!

Avoid at all costs. Wouldn't recommend!

Location in Maidstone ideal but the tower block it was in was disgusting. Fag buts and stunk off piss all the way up the stairs.

Mould on windows, large water stain on ceiling, room absolutely stunk, dirty walls and shower, bed uncomfy and smelly bedding, Internet didn't work, most TV channels neither. Hairs in sink. Left over food in cuboards. Could go on forever with faults. Couldn't get anywhere else local to stayed so literally just used it as somewhere to get our heads down. .

Disappointing

Eric was very helpful and nice. I needed some changes of my reservation for more then one time and in both cases he was really sympathetic. I had all information that I needed. He responsed Very guickly!

The floor was Very messy, Wall Under the cooker was Dirty, Windows were broken and there almosr wasn't a way to open them. It was hot and no possibility to ventilate. Bed was Very uncomfortable. Matress has holes. I don't really think, that two people could sleep in it. There were holes in the Wall, broken closet. The front door ( Enter to building) had broken lock, so everybody could go inside. I didn't find it save. But I was traveling on my own. Elevator didn't work.

an “ok” place just to get your head down

centralised location. close to town. bathroom was very nice. host was responsive and helpful

wasn’t an apartment but a bedsit. hole in wall, ceiling had damp stains. mould on window frame. building itself is erm “run down” for want of a better term.

Location as we visited Leeds castle but there was no parking nearby .

The place was very dirty. I had difficulty in falling asleep as the pillows and bed cover smelled so bad. I had to leave and find a hotel last minute. I hand the key to the store and walk out to try and find a hotel. The mop it was very dirty and smelly. There was hair everywhere. The toilet had a shower gel and found toilet paper which was good but I would never go there again. I pad for 2 nights but stayed one because of how dirty it was. I personally do not recommend this apartment.

Decent value and excellent kitchen amenities but a few big issues to resolve.

Central location, very good shower, lots of good amenities (iron & ironing board, washing machine, fridge-freezer, pots, pans, crockery, cutlery etc), microwave, kettle, TV, oven. Good for a studio flat but not for 3 people.

Poor double bed and whilst the sofa bed was reasonably comfortable there were no sheets provided or pillowcase which wasn't good. Only 2 towels for 3 people, very noisy roundabout, poor windows meaning it was difficult to ventilate, no lampshade, poorly repaired damage to a wall. General block of flats is uninviting with 2 broken lifts giving a bad first impression.

Good accommodation for a great price

Don't be put off by the above snags...The apartment was clean and well equipped. Endless hot water and a great shower. The induction hob and microwave provide great cooking facilities despite the front two rings not working. Eric, the owner, was great. Responsive to communications and good to his promises.

Be aware this is a studio apartment and open plan. The bedroom is not separate the rest of the room. Some damage to wall near bed that needs to be repaired. The mattress was a little too soft for us. Front two rings on induction hob do not work. Maidstone is sadly run down but not on it's own in this regard. Previous grandeur can still be seen without looking too hard.

Nice appartment in the city centre

The location was the best about this property. The building has a lift which was also convenient with the luggages. It was nice to have the kitchen and cook our food

There was not that clean and the bed was a bit uncomfortable. There was also no wifi which may be a problem for some. Other than that everything were very nice and had a pleasant stay there
