This was our third stay at Maine's End. It was fantastic as we've become accustomed to.

We had an incredible stay at Mark's house. We were met by the property manager and given all the necessary information about the house and additionally they sent us a detailed document ahead of time listing all the things we could do in the area plus all the amenities of the home and there were many. The rocky shore with some sandy spots is the front yard of the property and we spent a lot of time sitting on the rocks watching the ocean tides and finding shells. We were there for a family reunion and we spent time on the big porches in rocking chairs reconnecting. We made big amazing meals like oysters (from a nearby place) and mussels and clam linguine. And the kitchen had everything we could possibly want to make meals for a family of 10. The bedrooms were all very comfortable and the views from every room are amazing. We slept with the windows open to the sounds of the waves all night. We had a fire inside on one chilly rainy day and we built a fire in the firepit out in the side yard one night to make Smores. All the supplies were there for fires and grilling and beach days. It was perfect. We highly recommend this house and the location. It was so close to Popham beach and we would go at low tide and float down the river into the ocean. Thanks again for a magical stay!

We were looking for the perfect place to stay for the week of our daughter's wedding. Maine's End was like a dream! The house was gorgeous and the views were breathtaking! The owners and caretaker were incredibly helpful and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed to make our stay special. We could have had a super fun, relaxing vacation without ever leaving the property. During the day we enjoyed the spectacular view, fished, hunted for shells, and explored the many surrounding destinations. In the evenings, we sat around the huge round table and played games or enjoyed a cozy campfire. While we didn't use them, there were many indoor fireplaces to enjoy. My favorite part was sitting on the wrap around porch listening to the waves crash against the rocks. It was an incredibly soothing sound to fall asleep to as well! The beautiful sitting room off the master bedroom served as the preparating room for the bride, with her hair dresser an make up artist pampering her with champaign while she enjoyed the breathtaking view from the huge windows, and the rocky beach was the perfect spot for a "groom's first view of his bride" photograph. It was an experience of a lifetime, and I am grateful to have experienced Maine's End!

We just finished our second trip to Maine’s End and enjoyed every minute. The accommodations are perfect for 3 generations of my family. The location can’t be beaten. The hosts are wonderful. We hope to return next year!

It’s because of places like Maine’s End that the state gets it’s name as “Vacationland.” What a wonderful time we had! From the very first contact with the owner, Mark, until our checkout, the process was seamless and professional.
Mark quickly responded to the many questions I had in a timely manner. His recommendations for activities and restaurants were spot on. And when we arrived at the Maine’s End property, we were greeted with a lovely customized tote bag filled with local treasures. What a thoughtful way to welcome your guests!
Our group was comprised of seven adults and three children between the ages of two to seven. This spacious home wonderfully accommodated our large group. Besides enjoying the home’s waterfront views, family members even described the showers as “spa-like!”
Maine’s End is perfectly located on the property to showcase the beautiful rocky coast, towering evergreen trees and shimmering waves. Perfect natural rock steps pave the way from the back yard down to the sandy beach. The amount of sea glass and shells on the beach even impressed our family’s avid collectors. And our adventurous family spent hours climbing on the massive rocks surrounding the property.
As for the accommodations, the kitchen was better-equipped than any other property we have rented inside or out of the country. If you needed something to prepare a meal, it was somewhere in the kitchen or pantry.
We cannot recommend Maine’s End enough!

This is a perfect spot for a group trip or multi-generational vacation. Very large home with many comfy spots to relax and visit it just sit and read a book. The porch is especially nice to sit and enjoy the water while rocking or enjoying a lovely meal.

This was a beautiful home with all the amenities, very welcoming. We rented this home for a short vacation with our grown children and grandkids. The porch overlooking the ocean was amazing. Everything included for outdoor cooking, and great fire pit. We had a great time.

Mark,
We so enjoyed your house. It is elegant and comfortable at the same time. As we pulled into the driveway, the view astounded us. We spent all of our time on your porch enjoying the view and never tired of it. However, Chef Seeley was the highlight. Her meals were not only delicious, but beautifully and artfully presented. She and her assistant Maddie were unobtrusive and so pleasant to have in our kitchen as we enjoyed the appetizers on the porch and dinner inside the dining room. Thank you for recommending her. She made the 70th Birthday extravaganza very special at your wonderful house in Maine. Thanks, P&K

Beautiful house, awesome view, great host. The house was secluded enough for some peace and quiet, but also located fairly close to a lot of local attractions.

Location was amazing. Views were like a post card. We had lobster all week but the lobster bake we had at the house was by far the best lobster we had all week. House was clean and stocked with vacation essentials. We ate mussels we picked off the beach! The ocean air has caused some wear and tear but it wouldn’t stop me from staying there again. Bring bug spray!

The overwhelming attribute of this property is the ocean view … fantastic! The owner and property manager were both very helpful and communicative. The house itself was roomy and authentic in design/look. The drawback that we experienced was that a few things were not available or in need of repair (or replacement) when we arrived (e.g., the third floor shower not available, a kitchen sink faucet which leaked all over the counter, a leaky shower water supply on the second floor, and the ancillary pizza oven in the kitchen was not operative); however, during our stay, the second floor shower was fixed while the leaky kitchen sink faucet was scheduled for repair on the day of our departure. Mark, the property owner, made it a point to be present when we departed and expressed his apologies.

Best VRBO vacation ever!
For our first vacation in 18 months we simply could not have done better. We've stayed in dozens of VRBOs and other owner leased properties all over the world, no one has ever taken better care of us than Mark and his team.
This is such a beautiful modern victorian home; I just hope everyone who rents it will treat it as well as they would their own home. So lovely, many artistic touches, all utensils, comfortable large porch with ocean view, fireplaces, and he went out of his way to with recreational supplies (bicycles and kayaks) and advice.
The water "bubbler" was a big help too, as was the ability to cook our lobster outside on the propane burner and big pot he provided. He directed us to a lobster supplier only 5 minutes away and we ate soft-shell lobster until we were stuffed almost every day. (Oysters and clams as well!)
The bedrooms were wonderful and clean; plenty of space for everyone (three story home). And the setting: magnificent. Remote and wooded, with the ocean just outside our back porch. It's a cliche I've never before used in a review, but I'd give this home 6 stars if I could. Thank you Mark!

Wow
Great location to be in reach of area attractions or, really, just to sit on the large porch and watch the tides come and go. Everyone in our large group found something to enjoy in this well-equipped and comfortable property.

An amazing spot on the Maine Coast
Our family of 6 really enjoyed our week at "Maine's End". It has an exceptional location on the rugged coast: incredibly private, yet with fantastic views of the adjacent shoreline and multiple islands. The home is very well situated to take advantage of the views and coast. As the tide is about 10', you have a changing shoreline always in view, from throughout the home and from its amazing and well-appointed porch. We enjoyed taking the provided beach chairs and umbrella down amongst the rock ledges at low tide, gathering sea glass, and fishing from the point.
The kitchen is very well stocked, and all the kit for an outdoor lobster boil is provided (bibs even!). You can walk, bike or drive a couple minutes to several lobster shops; one even had a very rare blue lobster they showed us. There is an outdoor firepit you can cook on, and Mark was kind enough to have a new gas grill delivered — truly above and beyond. The kids loved the "bonus room" on the 3rd floor with its own exceptional coastal views (and Olympics on the TV). The beds are all amazingly comfortable, and honestly there is enough room for two families, with multiple trundle beds and spare mattresses (though you'd need to stagger your showers!). You have close access to the town of Bath for groceries (20min) and lots of cool beaches on the peninsula (we loved Morse Mountain and Popham beach). We also had a great evening sail on a wooden ketch Mark had recommended.
The one drawback we encountered (all over the peninsula): the mosquitos were quite aggressive. It's possible we were there during a peak mosquito week, and on windy or cooler days they were gave us less trouble, but definitely bring your bug spray in late July/early Aug. I also suggest long pants and shirts: it's cool enough and that definitely helps prevent bites.
Mark (owner) and Callie (manager) were excellent — good communicators, helpful but entirely unobtrusive. Callie got us a drip coffee pot, and she and her husband delivered and setup the new gas grill after we mentioned in passing that it might have been nice to have one. The owners really went out of their way to set their home up for guests: plenty of firewood, extra toiletries, fishing gear, first aid kit, flashlights, bug spray, and so much more.
All in all, a relaxing and beautiful spot to unwind, stare at the sea, listen to the waves, eat good food and relax with your friends or family.

Perfect Place To Unplug And Relax
This is, from start to finish, a home. We loved every single inch of it and enjoyed our week fully. We were lucky to get there early and the owner was still there, along with the property manager, they both could not have been nicer and very attentive. The place is secluded but not in the middle of nowhere, although you can sit for hours (and we did) on the back porch and just watch the ocean. The house itself is amazing, lots of space, it was made for large groups, but it was only five of us, and it felt very homey. It has everything you could want. Fire pit with a swing over grill, all the amenities, walkable rocks, plenty of beds, showers, bathrooms and oh, yeah...a fireplace in the kitchen...on the counter. The owner told us to give it a try, we were not going to but the first morning was chilly so we did...and then had one every morning! The area is good to explore, near a wonderful beach, Bath and The Maritime Museum (great for kids). We found some great restaurants, and if you don't mind driving a little, you can find even more. If we decided to go back to Maine in the future, we are getting this place. It is just a wonderful home that will make you comfortable from the second you get there and will help your whole family to relax. We felt very lucky to have found it, it really felt like the kind of place your friends own and never rent but let you have it for the week. Just absolutely great.
