We had a really lovely time at the cottage. Very relaxing. Perfect covered porch "in the trees" for bird watching! We weren't there for water activities so the low lake level wasn't a concern for us. House was just right--not too big and not too small-- for the two of us. No yard for children to play in but, again, not a concern for us as we had no children. The driveway was a bit tight but it did work. We would rent this house again.....

Property was clean and beds were comfortable. It's unfortunate that the lake levels are so low because of the drought that there is no water view from the beautiful windows all along the back. None the less we sat out on the back patio and watched the deer come up. It was relaxing and peaceful. Would stay again!

Nice location. Great setup. Faraway enough to be away from the city hustle but close enough to enjoy the amenities and visit family.

Overall had a wonderful experience. Everything was clean and worked as it should. Had a blast feeding the local wildlife. Would highly recommend.

The stay was comfortable but the living room light and fan did not work the whole time we were there. The housekeeper came and checked it but determined that the whole unit had to be replaced due to a short circuit but they could not do it while we were there. We had to be mostly in the dark during the night with just a standing lamp and a wall light which were not enough. It’s a nice house and we enjoyed feeding the deer that visited us in the backyard.

This was a beautiful home with an amazing view. My family and I really enjoyed it. Being able to feed the deer with my youngest child was a bonus.

Our experience with this property was an all-round 5 ⭐️‘s. GPS is a must to find this location for using a map while driving through the many turns could cause one to get lost. We found our way perfectly with the GPS. The neighborhood was very welcoming and the scenery turned out to be incredible! Even though the host left a few bags of complimentary corn for the 30 plus deer hanging around, we couldn’t help ourselves but to buy a 40 lb bag later. The deer were so pleasant and so friendly. We we’re definitely their guest in their neighborhood.
Getting in the front door was very simple using a code, that the whole family could use it. This property smelled of freshness and cleanliness. It had everything we needed to cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The ice maker in the freezer was very useful. The futon and couch were very comfortable places to sleep as well as the beds. Plenty of sheets, blanket, and towels, plenty! I want to say one of my favorite treats were the water softener that had been installed. It made showering a dream. The added window unit upstairs was nice but if it was turned down too low, it would kick off and on every 3 to 4 minutes continuously. Amazing closet space and super amazing bathrooms. It felt so romantic in one sense, and so family oriented in every other sense. Our plans were to float the Medina River and the Frio River, then hit the water park for a day. Unfortunately, the Medina River that was only 20 minutes away, turned out to be 50% walking. The Frio River was an hour away and 90% walking. We had a pretty rough start to our vacation but then finally drove the hour and 45 minutes the next day, to float the Comal River which turned out to be very relaxing! With that being said, the water park, River float, and Riverwalk were all approximately a 4hr round trip in which we made the last 2 days of our trip.
The scenery, space, and comfort this property provided was well worth the money. The location for our families agenda made out to be an inconvenience.
I just wanted to share this with you so that it helps with the decision of staying based on the activities your family may have planned. We definitely look forward to staying again when we go for boating, kayaking, and fishing!
