We happened to have a heat wave while we were there, so the lack of air conditioning was a problem. I learned that I should definitely check that box in future rentals. The yard was very overgrown, almost shoulder height weeds (I’m 5’7”) and we could not really use the space well. The listing mentions the busy road noise, but there is also a very active train track on the

I was a little nervous that the yard wouldn’t be usable because of past comments. However, my two dogs had a great time in the yard. There was even still a little bit of snow on the side so they could play in the snow, but also have most of the yard to run around and play. The queen bed was very comfortable and the washer and dryer work great. There wasn’t a main light in the room but they hung up white lights, which I honestly preferred. Probably because my room is the same way lol. There are some nice restaurants around as well. The television was dated, but still worked fine. We were able to connect our Xbox series x to play games and watch television. The kitchen was a bit sparse, but we were able to cook. I did bring my own olive oil and salt and pepper. The deck could also benefit with some chairs. Overall, I had a great time and would return.

We selected this location over other cheaper places nearby specifically for the hot tub. It was a special request made by one of our guests, so it was disappointing to learn that the hot tub was not in working order during our stay. Getting in touch with the owner about the issue also proved difficult. The place was clean and the location was convenient, but the non-communication about the hot tub left us feeling a bit shafted.

I booked this place for my girlfriend and I as a weekend getaway. I was very excited to see a place with such a lovely backyard that was pet friendly for our dogs, and while it was a bit expensive for just two nights, I was happy to pay it since the dogs had a place to run and play. Getting in the house was easy: the lock box was right out front, the rooms were well kept, and the wood fireplace was very nice. On further inspection the place looks a lot worse than the pictures. There were stains on some of the towels and sheets in the master bedroom, there were hairs/ boogers on the master shower walls, and the sink in the front bathroom was clogged and did not drain. Along with this, there was no wood for the fireplace, and no axe to chop wood for the fireplace. The most disappointing part of the entire place was the fact that the backyard looked nothing like the pictures. The entire yard was covered in foxtails and weeds up to my waist, everything was dead, and there was no place to let the dogs run around safely. Overall I would be weary of booking here if one of your big booking points is having a safe place for your doggos to roam.

We loved the little place , perfect little rental. The hot tub was great!

We had a wonderful stay, the house is okay, pictures are not accurate, not a full couch in the living room. Freight trains go by all night. The location is good for being in the Truckee area, close to town, Donner, other lakes, etc. House was clean, beds are comfortable, the house and outside could use some TLC.

The wood burning "stove" in the living room was so cozy. The hot tub was large and perfect to soothe sore muscles after a day on the slopes. The mattresses were springy and supportive. The bathrooms were clean, modern, and stocked with little toiletries - plus the skylights made them feel super bright and airy. The kitchen had all the utensils and cookware that we could ask for and the dishwasher came in handy after dinners for 5 people!
I can't think of a single complaint!

My husband and I booked this property to celebrate our anniversary with our two dogs. Out of all the properties we considered, we chose this spot because the photos displayed an expansive fenced in backyard with grass and plenty of space for them to run and play. When we arrived that was not the case. The yard was engulfed by huge, tall, dried out weeds (including foxtails which is very dangerous for dogs) and no room for them to run around. Initially the property management offered to have someone come out to handle the weed situation and then we never heard from anyone again and no one ever arrived to take care of it during our stay. We were really disappointed having to pick foxtails from our dogs every day and ourselves not being able to walk around the backyard because the tall dry weeds scratched the hell out of our legs. The pros of this property is that the cabin was clean inside, cute, and cozy. It’s in a really nice location across from the river, and five minute drive to the restaurants and shops. However, I would not book this place again given our experience and I'm hesitant to trust this property management company since they completely left us hanging. If you’re good with just using the inside of the cabin, then this spot is for you but if you were hoping to actually enjoy the backyard, look elsewhere.

We had a nice stay here working remotely. The internet was super fast, even with both of us on zoom all day. The best part was being able to walk across the street to the Truckee river and there are loads of nice hikes just minutes away. Our dog enjoyed the really large fenced in yard. And the neighbors were all really friendly. If you're cooking a lot, you'll have to get a little creative since there's only one sauce pan and is less stocked than other properties we've stayed at. We spent the evenings on the beautiful large deck, enjoying the stars. If there's a group of you, you might want to bring some chairs, while the deck is amazing there is only two lawn chairs.

The house itself was clean and as expected. The back yard was a huge disappointment, there were weeds chest high and my dogs had trouble navigating. There were areas where my dogs could get out so it wasn’t safe to leave them out alone. The house was uncomfortably hot with no real way to cool off even at night. The beds were uncomfortable. We left 2 days early just to get some sleep. Overall we didn’t have a good time.

The hideaway is nice with a short walk to the river and a short drive to many things. It was a bit noisy being off a main road and a railroad track just across that road. Loved the game selection.

We love the cozy cabin with the fireplace, sunken bath, hot tub, full kitchen & large fenced in yard. The view of the mountains was spectacular.

Really clean and conveniently located house. Would be helpful to have the following items stocked in the kitchen: cooking/spray oil, medium sized pot, medium sized pan and a whisk. Would also have been helpful to have extra towels for the spa and a couple of extra blankets. With that all being said, we will absolutely stay here again!

We had an amazing stay at the house. The location was perfect. The hot tub was great there was a wonderful fenced in area for our little French bulldog. They even had an Xbox that the kids got to use a little bit. We had most of our dinners at the house and watched movies after long days of snowboarding. We would absolutely rent this house again!

This is a really nice property conveniently located to many north Lake Tahoe points of interest. The highlights were a premium model hot tub, a very cozy wood-burning fireplace, and a fenced-in yard. There is also a well equipped kitchen for those wanting to cook meals, and it’s close to area restaurants and shops. It was a great option for a ski holiday with friends (2 couples) and dogs. We would definitely consider staying here again. The only drawback was communication with the management company (Vacasa). They did not respond in a timely manner to several inquiries, and there was a discrepancy between their rental terms and fees versus those indicated on VRBO. We would encourage the owner to consider using a different vacation rental management company, such as AvantStay, that would offer guests a better experience.

Had a short stay at this nice, clean property. I chose it for the view, hot tub and deck which was lovely. Being the height of summer, the yard is all dry but fully fenced. There are chairs on the deck and tv with PlayStation in the living room that is not in the listing. There is no AC but box fans for each room. There are active train tracks just across the street. The bathrooms are newly remodeled and beautiful. Kitchen was well stocked and newer grill on deck. The Truckee River is within a 10 minute walk across the train tracks. No access to the Truckee River Trail which is on the other side of the river. Overall, had a great stay and the stargazing was incredible.

good central location.
Enjoyed the hot tub and good central location. Very clean too. The back yard was not great though, lots of weeds and part of the fence wasn’t secure. Traveling with dogs I reserved this because it had a fenced back yard but it wasn’t safe to let them run around back there due to the fence issues.
