5 Stars - My sister and I became widow at an early age. This was her first trip in 30 years her husband would not travel. When she saw the place she was awed and me to. It was one on the best places I stayed in Florida. We ere on the canal side watching dolphins, pelican and fish it was so relaxing. If there was a convenience store you would never leave. The pools wear fabulous the people were so kind and fun even the staff was great. We plan to come back every year. If you love the Hilton you will not like it here. It is comfortable and not to up to date but it is wonderful it is what vacation is suppose to be. It was really hard to leave Donna S.

I do not feel certain I know who I'm rating, I booked off of VRBO, recevied an email prior to arrival from iorlando, yet got Expedia review request? The lock for door needs improvement, our key fob to use amnenties was not working on arrival, couldn't be fixed per vrbo chat as it is an HOA so that was unfortunate. Other than that the pools, hot tub, restaurant, in room, and outside games were great.

We enjoyed it, it was quiet and had what we were looking for. Nice pool and beach access. Restaurants near by but not much else around.

Impromptu trip to visit a sick family member in nearby Sun City Center. So glad I chose this place to stay. It was perfect and just as pictured/described. The place itself was very clean and the surrounding grounds were spotless and well maintained. We reported a slow draining bathroom sink and within hours it was repaired. Although we didn’t get to enjoy the pristine beach area, we did dine at the Sunset Grill on the resort grounds. There was plenty of parking, but what was even better is that it was within walking distance of our unit. Oh, and the food, atmosphere, and staff were awesome.
Outside of the resort we found nearby grocery stores to stock our room with water, coffee and snacks. We also enjoyed dining at Uncle Joe’s Diner (open 24 hours), and viewing the manatees at the Tampa Power Plant (which one of the very friendly resort employees Darren told us about).
The only suggestion I would make to the host is to update the coffee pot in the unit to one that uses K-cups. Otherwise, you couldn’t have asked for more.

What a beautiful area! Canal on one side and the bay on the other! Spectacular location! Lots of amenities! We were pleasantly surprised! Some outlets near the nightstands would have been nice and the sink plumbing needs a little work, but overall we really enjoyed our stay!

I stay at this place usually 2-3 times a year, renting different units. This unit was great, excellent water view, seen dolphins and walking distance to 2 restaurants, bars and pool.

After booking, having to go through security checks with this company, was a little bit of a pain. Overall a good experience. I had to extend my stay by a day and the owner was very good at communicating and adding the day on promptly. The unit itself is very somple but that is all I really needed.

I can't even imagine that Expedia is affiliated with such a terrible place, huge roaches, tile missing from ceiling, filthy rugs, old and faded comforter and sheets, tv barely worked you had to stand close to it and point the remote at the cable box to get it to work, wifi kept going in and out , even a worker there said it was garbage, shower rod rusted, rust on the floor, behind the toilet was filthy, roaches in the light in the bathroom, paint peeling from ceiling, air conditioner had mold

The location of the property was on point! Lots of fun things to do without having to even leave the property. My 4 year old had a blast and didn’t want to leave! As far as the room goes…the beds are full size not king. We had a lot of the same complaints as the other reviewers. We also did not have any silverware or any dish soap. Luckily we had friends staying in another unit just a few doors down whose place was SUPER nice compared to ours. They had a lot of amenities that we were able to borrow or use. The advertisement says it has an oven, which is does not. If I can get the room our friends stayed in I would totally come back.

Picked this property because it was on the back end so there would be a little more privacy and wanted to see the sunrise.
When we arrived check in process was easy. Received email with code and entered with no issues. Upon entry it was very musty smelling maybe because it hadn't received level of attention to detail with cleaning or filter, etc. Anyway I messaged about this that we were going to get air freshener or something to help.
We got lysol and diffuser and came back to room to freshen everything up and left diffuser on. When we returned it was better. Property manage responded they would be by to check filter that it was clean for second night stay. Didn't notice a difference in that but we kept spraying and diffusing and luckily no issues with my asthma.
We sat outside our room and watch the dolphins and pelicans the first evening. Seeing dolphins swim along and pelicans fly and dart into the water after fish. It was quiet, peaceful.
Other than that the property served it purpose for us and we enjoyed the Sunset Bar and Grill on our last night. This is a nice quiet area would stay in this area again as we plan to make this a regular trip but probably not in same unit, mostly due to musty smell.

When we first got to the property, the TV remote was not there. I contacted property management where they told me that the remote is not working and they were having to deliver it to me the next day. They had it to us by noon the next day! They advertise that there's two king size bed in the room however, the beds are 2 full size beds. The door to the closet was a mirror door. The bottom was so rusty that we could hardly get it open and we didn't want to shut it in fear of breaking it. We had cockroaches in the condo and even found one in the refrigerator. Ugh

The room was not cleaned well. I put my clothes in drawer and ended up staining my hoodie laundry didnt get it cleaned. Drawers had brown sticky stuff on edges like some spilled pop and it was never cleaned. 2 american cockroaches found in room. Tv remote only turned tv on or off. Had to use button on tv for channel and volume. Then got locked out twice of room. The first time they were gonna leave lock not working until i had a fit that we close door we could not get out and what if it caught fire. If we left door open we could be raped or murdered. Then they sent locksmith an hr of waiting. Security used screwdriver to break in. 2nd time locksmith gave us his his number if it happened again. And it did we called and he was having health issues and couldnt come for 45 mins. It was not a welcoming stay!

Location was great, unable to use any facilities the whole time we were there, no broom in room, only one wash cloth for 3 adults for a week, only a half roll of toliet paper, remote did not work, I could not open the door to get it in the room, it stuck all the time. Unable to reach management only got a recording saying mailbox was full. We were not happy not being able to contact anyone to help us.

It's a nice place and beautiful apartment, but the floor was dirty (couldn't walk without socks), towels very old with some weird smell, the lamps didn't work at all, apparently the bulbs were burned, a cockroach was founded in the bathroom, in summary a lot to improve in terms of cleaning, towels.

The property did not have an on-site check in which was not identified in their website. The property was also a long term residential building and had multiple infestation as well as an overwhelming odor of buff spray when we opened the door. We had an infant with us who would never be able to tolerate this. Additionally there were signs of bed bug infestation

ROACHES
Very disappointed in this property. The location was beautiful and very convenient but the room was outdated and had a huge problem with Florida Roaches. Did not bother calling Maintenance when the pest control company had been out the week we stayed to spray. Had to sleep with the lights on to keep them from crawling in bed with us at night, Killed at least 3 roaches that could have carried a small child off. Will not stay here again, until you decide to update and regurally spray for pest,

Good location, not the greatest room, but adequate
First: I would stay here again. This is an OK property, although clearly old. It seemed clean and despite the other reviews, everything in the room I used, worked (I didn't try the TV though). While I did see a couple of palmetto bugs (large roaches), they were dead or dying, so it's clear the property is trying to control them. For out-of-towners - it's Florida, they're a fact of life here, you will encounter them at some point.
That said, I think the reason you stay here is that the location works for you. There are other hotels in Ruskin that have nicer rooms, but they aren't on the water.
Some warnings:
- If you book less than 3 days in advance, they will email you asking to email back a selfie with driver's license and pictures of your credit card. Book early.
- I arrived at night, and everything was unplugged; the light switch by the door didn't work because the lamp wasn't plugged in.
- There are no accessible plugs on the bed side of the room, and really only two usable at the desk, through the provided lamp, and they are 2 prong plugs. If you have a bunch of electronics to charge, or 3-prong stuff, bring a power strip you can run from one free outlet near the door (and note: it's operated by the switch).
- The bedding was OK. One top sheet and then a down comforter. If you sleep hot, you'll either want to remove the comforter, or crank down the AC, which is not quiet and will run all the time set at 68-70F.
- I don't think these are King beds as noted in the description, but I didn't bring a tape measure; I fit and was not cramped (I'm 6' and heavy). The mattress is not luxurious, but I was able to sleep.
- Definitely plan to bring your own soap, shampoo, and (if you're staying a while) toilet paper. They provided one travel-size bottle of combo shampoo/bodywash, two very small bars of soap (the smallest I've ever seen; by volume, there might have been more wrapper than soap), and a bottle of palmolive dish soap.
- The shower room needs some cosmetic work, there's clearly been a patch on the ceiling where the joints are deteriorating, and it just looks bad. Again though, everything worked.

yikes
Upon arrival to our rental we immediately noticed a orange net rope marking off the River with a sign saying "no fishing". I was very upset because the whole reason we picked this rental was because it said you could "fish right out side your door way." My Husband is 72 and has a very bad back. Next we noticed no dishwasher like it said in the listing and very little dishes, so and towels, so we had to go to Walmart to purchase. Literally a half roll of toilet paper was all that was left for us. When we got into bed that night the beds were literally the worst beds I have ever had in my life. In the listing it was said to have good new mattresses! I cried because we had paid for 8 nights and it was MISERABLE! I also had sent a note asking for extra pillows which we did not receive. We were in agony the whole stay because the mattresses were so bad. I did find out that the mattresses were not the same, so finally my Husband switched beds with me so I could get some sleep. On another not there were lots of Palmetto bugs which really freaked me out. There were not laundry facilities and only one towel and wash cloth per person. All in all, this was the worst place I have ever rented to stay for vacation and I wont be back because its a whole lot of lies!

Description said 2- King beds and they are full size
Also, the shower would not divert from the tub to the shower head. My husband had to use pliers to get it to work.
