About this cottage rental

Situated just 150m from Port Eynon’s Blue Flag beach, 4* rated (Visit Wales) Ivy Cottage is perfect for a beach holiday or as a base to explore everything the Gower Peninsular has to offer.

One of the largest and most versatile accommodation options available on the Gower Peninsular, the cottage combines Oxwich View Cottage and Port Eynon Cottage – via interconnecting doors on the first floor – to create a holiday destination that can accommodate up to 10 adults and 4 children.

The first floor comprises of two master bedrooms with king size beds and ensuites, two double bedrooms, and two twin bedrooms (2'6" wide beds, adults also welcome!). A further double bedroom with ensuite is conveniently located on the ground floor.

Private parking is available for 5 vehicles.

The two lounges have smart TV’s and log burners whilst the two kitchens are fully equipped with an induction hob, microwave, full-sized fridge freezer, dishwasher, Nespresso machine and washer dryer and complemented by adjacent options for dining including one large dining room that can accommodate all 14 guests together.

Externally there are adjacent private gardens and paved seating and dining areas, all of which are fully enclosed for those who don’t leave home without the dog (subject to prior arrangement when booking and a small surcharge, pets are welcome provided they stay downstairs)!

Port Eynon’s village amenities are within 100 meters of the cottage and include The Ship Inn and Smugglers Beach Bar & Kitchen which open all year round, whilst The Beach House Surf & Coffee Shop, two fish and chip shops and a gift shop open seasonally.

Port Eynon and Horton beaches are flanked by undulating sand dunes. To the west is the popular walk to the Salt House ruins and over the cliff from there – for the more adventurous – is Culver Hole, a 13th century Dovecote and Smugglers’ Cave. The beaches can also be your gateway to the Gower and Wales Coastal path which can take you to Oxwich if you head east and Rhossili if you head west.

For those wishing to explore all the Gower Peninsular has to offer there are castles, golf courses, nature reserves, outdoor pursuits, and a wide choice of food destinations with The Mumbles and its gift shops, seafront promenade, Ferris Wheel (seasonal) and eateries offering something for everyone all year round.

The cottage is let on a Saturday-to-Saturday basis during school holidays, whilst stays of a shorter duration are welcomed outside these dates.

The cottage was above expectation - very clean and tidy, fully equipped with all we needed for 10 of us to stay for the week. We had a grocery delivery the evening we arrived. Great beech to walk the dogs close by. Ship Inn opposite served great food. Plenty of beaches nearby to explore. Gower Heritage Centre on main route anywhere had 120kw chargers - very handy. Excellent week.

We were a party of 12 and 3 dogs so we had both cottages for our long weekend stay. The properties were spacious and spotlessly clean. Comfy beds and beautifully finished, with a fully equipped kitchen and the added bonus of The Ship Inn pub being directly opposite. The teens/kids made use of the badminton racquets, body boards and bucket and spade which had been thoughtfully supplied. Communication with the host was brilliant. Minutes walk from Port Eynon beach and perfect location for visiting all of South Gower.

We were 3 generations of the same family and all of our needs were catered for. The houses were spotlessly clean and incredibly well equipped. The gardens were a bonus and we were so close to the beach and directly opposite The Ship Inn. Communication was great with Deb, even to the point that my daughter left her straighteners there and Deb arranged with me for someone to collect. Can't fault anything about it.
