Tea and coffee facilities really convenient.
Light breakfast in the morning was perfect.

Nähe zum Zentrum. Netter Empfang.

Great location for exploring this area. The real bonus in extremely wet weather was having a comfortable well furnished lounge in addition to our lovely room.

I had about a dozen three-night stays traveling through Ireland this spring, all in perfectly nice places, but my stay at the Old Exchange outshone the rest. I felt so relaxed and welcome there; the house has real character, my room was roomy and bright, everything worked, the breakfast was good and satisfying (and was actually a bonus), and sitting in the gracious upstairs parlor, with views over town, was such a pleasure that I almost had to force myself to go out. But even more special than the house was the friendliness and good humor of my hosts, Mari and Peador. To give an example, there was one day when my plans were made overly difficult by transport issues and though I was perfectly happy to spend a pleasant day in and around Clifden, they worked behind the scenes, unasked, to help me realize my original plan, and sent me off on a grand adventure in the Connemara National Park! The household staff was very nice as well. Thanks for a delightful stay!

Comms from host was top class …. Check in really easy …. Room clean and had everything needed …. Location perfect
A cooked breakfast would definitely add but I did enjoy the simplicity of the breakfast offered also. Not a negative by any means, but more of a personal preference

Staff, breakfast freedom.
Noise from street. Landing light on all night.

Mari was a very friendly host and looked after us well.
The location is ideal to go out to the little town centre with pubs and restaurants.
The room was nice and clean, so we felt very comfortable there.
The breakfast was very nice as well.
Very happy in general. I'd only suggest the room we stayed at could do with more decorations, so it's a bit more welcoming (didn't look like the shared sitting room, that is shown in the photos here). But that's really to go from 90% to a 100%.

Incredibly warm host who did everything she could to make us welcome. Lots of pre-arrival communication to ensure all went smoothly. Fantastic location.
Not much I didn’t like. Would have been nice if there had been water available (but this may have been available in breakfast room, but I didn’t want to go in there outside of breakfast time without prior permission). Room was quite basic but comfortable. Continental breakfast was fine. A few pictures / old photos of Clifden might add a bit of character to bedroom.

Owner lovely!! Couldn't do more for you. Great location and clean and good facilities.
Only horrific thing was the noise could hear people having sex in the room upstairs and people in the toilet going to the toilet and cars driving up and down outside so so noisy it was horrible didn't sleep atall the entire stay was so embrassing. Felt like I was sleeping out on the street with the noise will not be back because of this such a shame as the place is lovely inside but absolute paper tin walls!

location is fabulous. in the heart of Clifden town but still nice and quiet. walking distance to everything. everything was spotlessly clean.
it's an old building. very old. so although the room itself was spacious enough, the bathroom was tiny, teeny tiny. Also, if you're looking for a classic Irish breakfast , with eggs, rashers, sausages etc... it is not offered. a continental buffet with lots of selections is available, including fresh fruits, cereals, toast, yogurt. I prefer this as I'm not a breakfast eater.

Location is superb, bed and bedlinen very good, bathroom also good. Hosts Mari and Peadar very obliging.
Breakfast could be improved a little. Would like to be able to make filter coffee - not mad about pods or instant coffee as provided. I also think local home-made jam and marmalade would be a nice touch.

The Old Exchange is in the perfect location in downtown Clifden. Close to shops, but away from the noise on the street. Hosts were wonderful! Met us late in the evening for check-in and provided great information for places to eat and things to do. Clean and comfortable, we had the perfect stay. Highly recommend!!
