About this house rental
Aloha Ohia Hale
Welcome to the Cozy Aloha Ohi’a Hale in Volcano, Hawaii!
Nestled into the hapu’u fern forest of Ohi’a Estates in Volcano, Hawaii, this quiet, cozy retreat is the perfect place to relax after a long-day of sight-seeing. Slip into the hot tub and enjoy the sounds of nature that the Big Island is famous for. The Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is minutes away and has a whole new look after the great eruption of 2018 that closed the Park for several months! And you’re only 30 minutes from historic, downtown Hilo – and great snorkeling at Carlsmith Beach Park.
The home is perfect for 1 or 2 people. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to whip up those scrumptious island meals. The comfy living room boasts a large sofa, recliner and cozy gas fireplace. The guest bedroom has a queen bed and the bathroom has a large walk-in shower with all kinds of jets! The large covered lanai is a great space to grill and dine outdoors, or relax under the gas propane heater or in the hot tub.
Please note: The owner’s private bedroom and office are locked and not for guest’s use.
What to pack Volcano, Hawaii sits at about 3500’ elevation. The Island of Hawaii, aka the Big Island, boasts over 4,000 square miles and 10 different climate zones, within which are many micro climate zones! You may think that packing your favorite swimsuit and slippers (flip flops) is enough, but not true if you plan on doing any hiking or sightseeing around the island. The Volcano area can get quite chilly with temperatures dropping down to the low 40s at night, sometimes lower, so do bring your favorite warm pajamas and at least a light jacket. It actually snows often on Mauna Kea, but they close those roads whenever there are blizzard conditions present.

Wonderful Comfortable Home in Volcano HI
Excellent location, close to Volcano National Park and the town of Kilauea. Perfect for a couple with a fully equipped kitchen, huge refrigerator and freezer, a nice HOT tub & great BBQ on lanai and general feeling of aloha. They even supplied a small cooler for daily use. Highly recommend if you want to come and go to the Park and the general area.

Excellent stay in Volcano
My wife and I had an excellent stay in Volcano. The property was sparkling clean and the check-in experience was easy and fast. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen large and well equipped. The photos don't do this cute house justice - it's a very beautiful place.

Cozy cottage living
Spacious yet cozy cottage just outside of Volcano village...a few minutes drive to restaurants and shops and approx 5mins to the Volcanoes National Park entrance. This cottage had all the emenities and then some! We truly enjoyed the quiet property, the hot tub and basket ball hoop! This was definitely a home away from home, and we hope to be able to return someday. The host was easily accessible and quick to respond to any of our questions. Loved our stay here!

10 Day stay
We enjoyed this location because of the details of having a complete kitchen with pans and utensils and a start up of a few staples, a very comfortable bed, the porch was lovely and all of the details made this a very comfortable, homey place to stay.

Vacation Stay in Volcano, HI
Feb 4-15, 2020 We vacationed at the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park for this period and had a great time. The one bedroom rental unit was very conveniently located (a few miles from the park entrance; even closer to the restaurants and shops in Volcano Village, and just off the highway leading to Hilo or the South and West Coasts of the Island), clean, quiet and comfortable. The living room is spacious to relax in. It looks in reality just as it looks in the photos accompanying the listing. It has a hot tub but we didn't use it: we were out early until late each day. Renters should be reminded to purchase food and other supplies in Hilo or Kailua-Kona (large grocery stores in both towns)because the general stores in Volcano Village and at the Kilauea Military Camp are very small with limited stock. A wonderful place to stay next to an extraordinary natural resource.
