Great location for what we wanted. This place is intended for hikers and it certainly accommodates. Can walk straight out onto a Tor or cycle out into the moor. Hosts were excellent and friendly. We enjoyed the hot tub and the coffee machine was also an excellent feature for the room (though I had to Google instructions as it was flashing because the pod tray was full).
Would have liked a tea towel in the room to dry off our dishes as we couldn’t find any in the room. But I respect also that if we had asked this probably would have been given as nothing was too much trouble for the hosts

Great location, lovely hosts, room was huge and well equipped and really appreciated the little touches like the availability of chargers etc. The hot tub was fab too, thank you.
An actual kettle would have been beneficial, whilst I appreciate not wasting electricity it was a bit of a faff using the one cup one and resulted in a smaller cup of coffee and couldn’t easily fill a thermos. That said I’m sure if I’d have asked they would have helped but we were setting off early.

Lovely large and modern studio style room equipped with everything we needed including sofa, dining table and tv. Clean kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, fridge and kettle. Shower was lovely and powerful and hot. Warm, comfortable and dog friendly room. The hosts were very friendly, welcoming and helpful and always around to chat to. They even delivered a new year breakfast pack of crumpets and jams incase we didn’t have anything and the cafe was closed New Year’s Day. The location is excellent next door to our favourite pub and cafe and lovely walks across the moors right from the door. Village shop for emergencies. Can walk straight to Nuns cross from there which is a lovely walk with amazing scenery.
Bed matress was a bit too soft for my bad back, sank right into it but would be great if you like a soft memory foam matress. Radiators on timer could do with coming on earlier so it’s warm when you get back from cold walks about 3-4pm. These were just minor things, overall we were very impressed and happy with our stay.

Location is perfect for spending time on Dartmoor. Free parking.
Our room was perfect. Everything we needed for a break away. Bed was really comfy & all was clean & good quality.
The jacuzzi was a fabulous addition to what was already a gem of a place to stay.
Nikki & Terry were so welcoming, kind & thoughtful. Nothing was too much trouble. Big thanks & we’ll be back & telling friends about you :D
Nothing we didn’t like.

Super, amazing place for a weekend break or a holiday. The room above expectation, very nice and clean. Nikki and Terry are very friendly, open and helpful. We really felt welcomed. Outdoor facilities amazing (obviously the hot tub) also covered place (if the weather is not great) with tables and a fire (log burner) with an oven on top of it (to bake pizza etc). WiFi fast with no problems. We truly recommend this place!!! Nikki and Terry see you soon!! 😊
There is not such a thing.

Very comfortable bed!! Highly recommend.
Very clean.
Lovely bathroom and kitchen. Well decorated and stocked.
Big room.
Love the honesty shop and items you can loan.
Electric heater for loan.
Pod coffee machine - lovely extra we enjoyed.
Friendly hosts, easy to locate if we needed anything.
The room was cold in the night (Central heating not in use in summer months). But we were okay as we used the heater available to loan from the hallway - we appreciate very much that this has been thought about and is supplied for use. This was important to us as we had a young child.
The way the room is described makes it sound as though it had its own hot tub. It did not but I did email to clarify and the hosts replied quickly and were very helpful and clear in their emails.

Amazing room. The shower in the room was perfect. Other available facilities, such as the pizza oven were a great addition.
I really enjoyed our stay. I wish we could have stayed longer.
The spa could possibly be open for longer.

What a fantastic property!! The beds we’re comfortable and the room was massive. We had a family room with its own area for the children. We had a full kitchenette and although it was only a one night stay we would love to come back for a longer stay.

The tv, bathroom and fridge/kettle etc were great and in a lovely area of the world. The breakfast honesty box was also a nice use.
The noise and temperature. It was stuffy and the door creaked all night. Generally the stay wasn’t helped by a van alarm going off at 3:30am for half an hour. A bad nights sleep but not the owners fault

Nice to have the honesty Box for breakfast options and there was plentiful pod coffee and tea more than normal and facilities in room to make breakfast

Nice clean and quiet room. Well equipped with all you need to do breakfast and drinks. Even a coffee machine with pods. Our host Terry was very friendly and helpful pointing out interesting areas to visit nearby. Nikki was helpful and offered the room before checking in time, we just popped in to say we had parked up and were off for lunch. Overall a lovely stay.

Simple, comfortable and nicely located
Unenthusiastic staff, stinking bathroom and the room finish was lacking a little refinement. Happy we were there only one night.

Nice room and comfortable bed.
Small town with a walking distance to a nice local pub.
Dog friendly.
We arrived late and didn't get the chance to enjoy the hot tub :/

The room was clean, comfortable and generally well-equipped. The hosts have clearly put a lot of effort into environmental sustainability, including providing guests with recycling options. We particularly appreciated the pod-style coffee machine with compostable coffee pods!
An additional mirror in the bedroom, close to a power outlet, would have been useful for hair drying (the only mirror was in the bathroom).

Before arrival, we had asked to check in early (11am instead of 4pm!) as had to get into Plymouth, and this was not a problem. We received a friendly welcome, were given our key and shown our room which was spacious and clean with a lovely bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept well, and the shower was amazing. There was a little shop just over the road for provisions, and a great cafe where we ate breakfast and we got free drinks because we'd stayed at the Ramblers - a really nice touch. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.
Only a couple of very minor moans - we were told that milk would be in our fridge when we got back in the evening but it wasn't. Not a huge problem as popped to shop for it the next morning (only a minutes walk away). Got milk, looking forward to a cuppa but sadly, the mugs didn't fit under the water boiler (no kettle)! Coffee machine also provided but again the mugs wouldn't fit. Bit annoying but not enough to ruin an otherwise lovely stay.

Nikki and Terry run a great place here with a variety of rooms, lots of helpful advice and information, in a fascinating part of Dartmoor. The hot tub was a great bonus after a hard days hiking, as were the fabulous local ice creams they sell. Rooms are clean and supplied with lots of extras, and good modern bathrooms. They in effect run a superior very friendly bed and breakfast without the breakfast, which works very well as I certainly get bored with the same breakfast every day but feel I have to eat it all as I have paid for it!
Younger children not being allowed in the hot tub (insurance issue?) was an issue.
