Clean, comfy bed. Plenty of pots and pans. Fridge freezer was handy.
Stairs not good for dogs. Nowhere to let dogs out.

This is my 3rd year staying at Beck View, purely down to it's location in Staithes. It is used just for a base, for exploring the area and does what it says on the tin.
As I will intend to try and get back again next year, it seems harsh to pick flaws, but there is a bit of wear & tear with a blind broken, they didn't have time to replace, although did provide a nice card of apology. The window in the bedroom is rotting in areas and made it difficult to close the catch and on 1 windy night, it opened itself, to waken to a rather cold bedroom. Generally the place was clean, but on leaving, I picked up clothes that had been on a shelf to find a layer of dust transferred from the shelf.

The location is fantastic.
Bed was super comfortable with nice bedding and towels provided
Saying I didn't like is abit harsh, but the cottage is definitely in need of some tlc. Basic things like lacking basic cooking equipment, and the whole downstairs could do with a freshen up, brightening up as its extremely dark in the living area.
Sent a message to the owner asking if there was a frying pan ,no reply , also messaged as had a leak in the bedroom ceiling from heavy rain as I was leaving, but again no response. Was told to leave the place clean and tidy but the hoover provided went flat after a few minutes. All in all it could be a gem of place just feels abit neglected which is a shame as the location is fantastic and the place has so much potential.

Very cute and cosy. It was close to everything you needed - pub, shops, towns nearby.
Bed was very comfortable. Just the right size for the two of us. Very comfy sofa and generally a very homely feel.
- The lock in the front door constantly sticks and it takes a while to get into the property at times.
- The rope banister going up the stairs is really dangerous. The wooden part was really unsafe and it was pretty much redundant and didn’t serve its purpose. If you had accessibility issues, you would struggle with this.
- The floor downstairs wasn’t clean - almost felt greasy and this could be seen on the bottom of your socks.

Location
Whoever is cleaning the property needs to go to Specsavers. The toilet hammered when flushed but we could live with it. Someone turned up to apologise as there had been complaints (not from us) & gave us the cheapest bottle of wine possible as an apology….. The cupboards smell fusty & several pieces of crockery were chipped. A lot of money for what you get. V disappointed. I won’t share the photos of the dust etc so that the owners can get in new staff.

The cottage does what you need it to do, in a very basic way. Great location.
It really is basic. Also - make sure you bring firewood if you want to use the fire, particularly if you’re arriving late afternoon when the local shops are shut.

Great location, extremely comfy bed with amazing pillows.
could do with a resident parking permit, as it was a struggle to park.. lack of wood or fuel for the fire. it was very cold when we arrived and took a while to warm up. lack of an iron and ironing board.

Cute little one up one down. Has everything (basic) you need. Decent little bolt hole for a getaway to chill. Great location in lower Staithes.
Could do with a little tlc in decor.
