It had everything we needed. Good ambience in communal areas. Extremely helpful and lovely staff.
4.1
Location for breakfast was good
Unfortunately the breakfast was not up to our expectations. I had to stand around and wait for the fried eggs also the coffee was tasteless.
4.1
The staff were very welcoming especially of the dog, but then at an extra cost of £15 for the night -which is the most we have ever paid extra for our little dog - we would hope he was welcomed! The room was acceptable, bathroom newly fitted and the food in the restaurant was excellent.
Just a bit surprised to be charged £15 for a little dachshund! Overall though we realise Holt is in demand and expected to pay a lot to stay there. On the whole we had a lovely pre-Christmas stay in a pretty little town, which was the idea.
4.1
It was a comfortable, spacious room which was very clean. It was also extremely warm which was wonderful as the weather was freezing cold. We stayed at The Lawns which was great for parking and it was only 2 minutes walk to get to The Feathers for breakfast. The breakfast was a hot buffet which was all nicely cooked and a good choice. Pleasant, friendly staff.
Found the pillows to be a bit hard.

Location was fabulous. Check in staff and breakfast staff were lovely. Breakfast was fine. Super dog friendly. Stayed in the Lawn Rooms and it was very quiet.
Felt a little awkward trying to find reception staff at times, had to wander through the dining area to find someone.
The bed was rather uncomfortable - two single beds pushed together, with a really uncomfortable ridge where they met - and it was very firm too.
There was a small window in the door and at night time, the outside lights shone through really brightly.
No bath in the bathroom, and the bathroom generally felt quite dated.
4.1
Lovely setting in a clean, well looked after Inn. Attentive staff and warm greeting welcomed us when we arrived.
Room was a little cramped but adequate for a short one night stay.
Noise from downstairs travelled a little into the room.
4.1
Main meals and breakfast were exceptionally good.
Service was faultless, helpful and friendly.
WI-FI was good.
Rooms were lovely and well presented with pleasant toiletries.
Beautiful character building in a lovely area.
The only reason it is marked down a fraction if for 2 uncontrollable situations.
1:The noise from neighbouring guests travelled easily.
2:The restaurant area was closed which meant the popular bar/restaurant was too busy for us to sit at a table in the evening. (Could have been avoided if we had booked a table; however, we ate our main meal at lunchtime)
4.1
The breakfast was excellent as were all the evening meals we had. Staff very helpful as was the manager, nothing was too much trouble.
No negatives
4.1
Warm nice room
No staff around felt quite isolated as a solo traveller

Thank you for being so accommodating and places me in a room fit for my needs. Very much appreciated.

warm friendly clean comfortable quality
we wanted to have dinner both nights but one vegetarian option- same both nights

We were not aware until just before our stay that we were allocated our 3 booked rooms in The Lawns Rooms, a building a few minutes from The Feathers but we were delighted with our good sized rooms, a twin and 2 doubles. Beds were comfy and rooms quiet. Liked the Espresso machine, choice of coffee, tea and chocolate. Free parking in car park and out on road outside.
Room 18 was very hot during the night and, as on ground floor and no windows, our daughter had poor night’s sleep.

the food was very good and the staff were excellent , very helpful
nothing

The staff were friendly & helpful. The food was very good, including a very impressive breakfast. Parking at the side of the hotel. New owners, so it will take time to refurbish. Bed really comfortable. Booking in easy. Constant advanced reminders about booking and events held in the area etc. Although very old building, with sqeaky floors, noise levels were excellent.
Our shower was so small, I could not turn around to wash myself. You had to go inside the shower to turn on, which gave you a cold water wake-up before hoit water arrived. No milk in the room, so could not make coffee.
4.1
Breakfast excellent, location was fine
No TV reception which was a system fault for the hotel for the whole weekend

great stopping off point for cycling the Rebellion Way. Comfy spacious room. Excellent food. We booked in for an evening meal.
4.1
Food was very good both at breakfast and for dinner. Staff were helpful and friendly. The room was clean, tidy and the bed very comfortable.
We stayed in room 22 at the lawns. The bathroom needed shelving to put toiletries on. The bedroom also needs space to put makeup and other bits on. Theses are small issues.
4.1
The rooms are lovely. Big and clean with walk in showers. The staff are all fabulous and very attentive. Amanda was a star.
The breakfast was gorgeous and lots of it.
We ate at the restaurant which was also good although a little pricey.
One of our party was disappointed with a main meal he had. Not that it horrible just that the description didn't match the meal given.
4.1
Staff were very professional and friendly, the hotel and room was nicely decorated and clean, good choice of food for breakfast, I particularly enjoyed the fresh fruit salad.
We stayed in room 18 at The Lawns. Although the conservatory was a nice addition, there are no opening windows. The doors had to be shut when we were out or asleep. Consequently, the room was very stuffy and hot.
4.1
The staff were very pleasant.
Nothing too much trouble for them.
Breakfast menu good.
Found the menu limited
Food was ok

Excellent value and the location in the centre of Holt
Car parking was a little restrictive
4.1
The room was amazing, room 1. Food was really good the first night, didn't eat there the second. Mainly because we wanted to try some of the other locations in Holt.
All was really good, breakfast was very tasty, but I think the last time we stayed there was an option for Eggs Benedict, or with Salmon, not an option this time. Not really complaining, but I was looking forward to it.
4.1
Dog friendly rooms were amazing

Really friendly helpful staff. Welcomed the dog who was given his own bed and treats. Food for us was great.

Dinner was super -great food and nice atmosphere.
Lots of spaces in hotel to sit - some quiet some more buzzy.
Location was great.
Room at The Lawns was nice - though limited decaf in the room.
Breakfast was a bit chaotic and cramped at the food counter / area and needed to wait for items to be replenished and hunt for the plates! The breakfast room/area is large, so maybe better set up across a larger counter area or bits for he room so people are on top of each other and standing in front of a hot toaster waiting.
Parking was limited at the The Feathers and back car park very small.

Nice complimentary products tea, filter coffee and biscuits. Spa Products very nice, good choice of TV Channels, clean, very comfortable bed. Nice breakfast. Warm welcoming staff.Good check out time. Plenty of Bar areas to relax..Free WiFi and Parking, really important. Loved the birdy bed throw.
We had two rooms, No full length mirror.in mine. Shower too small. My sister had a double shower cubicle and full length mirror. Outside...nowhere dry to keep out of the rain to have a cigarette..
4.1
The staff were attentive and helpful with nothing being too much trouble. The quality of the food was good with the salted and black pepper squid being outstanding.
The smell from our shower room due to it being damp and musty.

The Lawns - All refurbished to a high standard
4.1
Hard to say, very disappointing. The food was okay.
We were informed by the hotels sister restaurant that all the building had been refurbished, outside maybe, defiantly not inside, the rooms were dated, small, the dog barking next door didn't help. As we were celebrating our Golden Wedding, which they knew, loosing our table reservation in the restaurant wasn't helpful, they did managed to get us a table alas by the main door entrance, We waited 15 minutes and had to ask for menus.
on our departure, knowing we had paid for the room and breakfast previously and paid with my credit card for extras such as drinks, we were told we owed and additional £60, but the receptionist didn't know what for and she kept asking me if we had had a nice time, the answer was NO NO and No.. would we go back No No and No.
4.1
We stayed in the annex which was ideal for us, especially as we could park close to our room.
the reception staff were great and very helpful
breakfast had limited range and the food was not that warm - otherwise a good breakfast
4.1
Accommodation was nice but too far away from Inn..
Having to walk backwards and forwards to the bedroom which was 5mins down the road to another building.
Limited menu.
Expensive menu.
People with dogs were allowed to sit anywhere within the restaurant. Do not like sitting with unruly animals..
4.1
Fabulous large spacious room, huge bathroom, USB plugs by the bed, comfortable bed, coffee machine, food hair dryer, bathroom products incudes, big bath towels... attractive breakfast room
A little noisy at night, then extremely noisy before 8am when a truck was unloading food supplies outside our window on the main road. Couldn't be helped but perhaps investment in triple glazing as it's also right on top of a pelican crossing beeping away...
4.1
The new rooms in The Lawns annexe are superb. Breakfast buffet was very good. Evening meal also excellent
Service in the restaurant in the evening was very slow and a bit disjointed. We got our table at 8 pm after a long wait (Even though we had a reservation) but were than told when we wanted to order a dessert at 9.20 that the kitchen was closed! But up stepped Scott (the manager?) and got them to cook us what we wanted and it was superb. Had the service not been so slow we would not have needed to trouble the kitchen after hours. Why can't serving staff be more proactive and awake? Well done Scott for saving the night!

Problem with heating but rapidly fixed

Lovely hotel. Room and breakfast were excellent.
4.1
Room was beautiful and well furnished and equipped. Great location in the centre.
Great to have parking, but a little cramped when busy
4.1
Everything was really good. But the people were amazing!!
I guess a little car park with another car park a little walk further, which nothing can be done about it. Other than that, there was nothing that we didn’t like.
