Location was good. Close to restaurants. Park is nearby if you have children. Walking paths next to property connecting to other areas. View of the nearby mountains are nice. Lots of common areas for people to enjoy.
When we registered we were told that the air conditioning may not work. We found out later on it did not work well and had to get a portable cooling unit. When we were checking out, we heard other guests checking out also stating that their air conditioning did not work. The TV did not work. We do not watch a lot of TV but wanted to catch the news. A light did not work do to a poor job of repairing the cord with tape. During nighttime we were abruptly wakened by a small frame hung on the wall by Velcro which fell off the wall--after that loud noise my husband and I did not fall back to sleep well. The bed was not comfortable--it was hard and the pillows were small and hard too. Although we do like dogs, there were always dogs around whether inside or outside the PAD. Due to the walking path it seemed like a stopping point for the dogs to hang out and play in the fake grass area. One of the people associated with the PAD had their dog in this play area which by the way is where children can hang out and play--the large dog peed on the outdoor chair and it's owner just took the water bowl and tossed it on the area where the dog peed. I did mention this when checking out .

This was an emergency stay. We were traveling and were stranded with Mountain Pass being closed. we were able to book late into the evening and get a place to stay for a few hours. The place was clean, attractive and open. Coffee was ready for us at five in the morning in the lobby.
Booking show quickly we didn’t have time to realize that the room did not come with a private bathroom. It’s more of a modern hostile.
The room was tiny. Barely room to move around.
The front desk employee was cordial but you could tell that he wasn’t overly concerned with trying to please us

The hostel vibe, common kitchen and on-site creates a friendly chatty atmosphere. The various activities, like live music, bingo and Salsa dance lessons add to the fun.
The hot tub was so cool!!
This was the best accomodation we had on our ski holiday. Thank you to the Pad Managment and staff from the Ski and Salsa Crazy Kiwis.

ventilation in the room : stuffy. Limited/no temperature control, so the room was too warm even though the heating was turned off.

I really like the hostel itself. It felt more like staying in a hotel, because it was so clean and really nice. My room was just the right size for me and I did not mind having a shared bathroom. I really wished I could have stayed longer and plan to in the future. Thank you!
Nothing.

Modern facilities
The private room with shared bath was aweful-floor was wet. And every time someone use the bathroom the door slammed so hard and loud waking one up.

Everything looked great. Nicely decorated lobby rooms and chill spaces. Nice front desk lady.
The bed and pillows. I travel often for work and have stayed in hotels across the country and world! This was by far the most uncomfortable bed I have ever ever ever ever ever stayed in. In fact I was unable to sleep at all the entire night! The whole reason I went up to the mountains from Boulder the night before was because I had an early morning wedding shoot and I didn't want to drive up in the morning on little sleep so I figured if I could get a good night's sleep up there I'd be ahead of the game. While it turns out I didn't get any sleep! The pillow was super super high and very very hard. The bed was extremely hard and literally felt like sleeping on a board. It was incredibly disappointing for a brand new nice hotel! To make matters worse, when I got up at 8:00 the coffee was already gone and they weren't making more. Just a miserable night and a waste of $200!

Very cozy individual room. Very small Sink but nice size shower. Very nice tv, window, bed and very friendly staff.
However, they have shared room for younger people or groups of nomads.
Local people are not very friendly but hotel staff were awesome. From bartender to reception, everybody was smiling.

Great place to stay in Silverthorne and close to all the mountains...better than driving back and forth to Denver.
There are no privacy curtains on the bed...so if you have a full room in the 6-bed dorm and you're in the front you have potentially 5 people walking in and out of the room about 1' from your head.

The common area facilities were excellent and the layout of the building was great. The staff were friendly and the bar area was a great place to unwind and meet other guests.

this place is very nice, clean and friendly staff. the coffee in the morning is great. the hot tub is useful and comfortable after a long day of skiing. very modern and new for an affordable price.
the 4 dorm rooms are tight when full. I prefer the 6 dorm.

Woken up on my 3rd night by staff at 341am to tell me I was in a Female pod only. The Female pod was the next pod over! They were in the wrong pod. Not sure what they were going to do at 341am kick me to another room and wake everyone up? It could have waited till morning! Needless to say I stayed where I was another 3 nites!

The hot tub was amazing and a great place to meet fellow like-minded travellers. The kitchen is the best ive seen at any hostel, fully equipped (2 ovens, microwaves and sets of knives and other non-basic cooking utensils) and able to handle multiple groups of people cooking at a time.
The parking lot fills up rather quickly and you have to go to a satellite lot to park if your one of the last ones in for the night.

great location, clean, affordable for skiing lodging, great place to stay with friends
overflow parking lot is too far away

The concept of the place is fantastic. Had a private room that slept my family of 4 quite comfortably. Shared bathroom facilities were fine, common space was great, having a cocktail lounge and communal kitchen made the stay really nice. Staff was excellent. Beds were comfortable. Hot tub a big plus, games and puzzles available was a nice touch.
Liked that you needed an access key to get to the wing of building where our room was, but the door opening and closing late at night and early in the morning made it a bit noisy and hard to sleep. If they could install some kind of device that would make the door not slam, or that would dampen that sound, the place would have been perfect.

The Pad was such a fun place to stay, our room was great and had all that we needed, and the planned activities on site were great and led to a festive atmosphere during our stay, would definitely recommend The Pad to friends.

It is a fun place to stay especially if you’re young and single. The communal spaces are designed for mingling.
I really enjoyed the rooftop hot tub with great views after a day of skiing.
The room was so cold the first night even with all my clothes on and the heat cranked up, I went to the front desk at 3 am for some help. The night clerk was no help at all and acted like we were bothering her. But the next morning when the shift changed, we were able to get a space heater and the next night was much better.

I liked the location of the place but everything else was disappointing.
- No window in the micro rooms that measure 7 feet by 7 feet. Makes these rooms incredibly claustrophobic and unsafe in the event of a fire. I felt like I was sleeping in a closet. I have stayed in hundreds of different hotels and hostels throughout my life ranging from $15 a night to $500+ a night. Every place I have stayed at beside the Pad has had at least one window in the room. It’s technically in the definition of a bedroom.
- Insufficient parking, there were not enough parking spaces on site. The solution to this was parking a half mile walk down the road.
- $10 package receiving fee charges. I thought this was a bit much.
- Multiple toilets connected improperly leading to them spaying water everywhere when flushed.
- Very sensitive thermostat temperature controls for the HVAC in the rooms.
- Overall poor build quality.
- Lukewarm/unfriendly staff.
