Good location. Nice historic home.
4.0 / 5.0
The location of this house is great for access to shops and restaurants. There are a few things that need some attention in the house, but overall we enjoyed our stay and were able to have a great time!
5.0 / 5.0
Location is amazing. History of house is amazing. Was able to see large ships from front porch. Only real negatives are the in room portable AC units and the community pool. Hard to install AC ducts in a historic house and appreciated them as it was hot when we were there. Community pool is a drive to get to and very small. Just pivoted and went to the beach instead once we saw it in person.

Our group of seven women who met MANY years ago but now live in states from Alaska to Florida normally have a difficult time finding a house like this. This home is exceptional because it has:
5 bedrooms, each with a beautiful king bed and a bathroom, a garage to save hassles of parking, a sun room and backyard terrace, a super front porch from which to observe historic Savannah, a responsive host team, and best of all, AN EXCELLENT LOCATION!!!
5.0 / 5.0
The location was great and I loved the king beds. Outdoor setup was also really nice along with plenty of space.
The upstairs bedroom was warm even with the AC. Getting in was very easy and the check out process was very quick with minimal lift (no stripping beds, loading washing machine, garbage bin effort, etc.).
It was a bit musty upon arrival but I think it is just the nature of the old house. Overall it is a great spot to stay if you are looking to explore Savannah with a group of people.

For being the age that the house is, it was in pretty good condition. Everyone that stayed in the house during our vacation loved the home and looked up some of the history on it since it was actually moved from another location in Savannah. We plan to rent the house again in the future.

We had a great time. The house was very well stocked and we enjoyed ourselves. I would tell anyone going to Savannah to stay there.

We had a blast staying at this beautiful home. The house had everything and more than we needed for a fun elopement weekend!

We loved this house for our girls weekend in Savannah. The location was perfect, walkable to almost everywhere we wanted to go. It was very spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed its historic vibes. The only negative was the critter living in the house. We could hear it running around and it also got into a package of toilet paper in the middle of the night.

The property was very clean and spacious. We had 10 adults and never felt crowded at all. Location is great, you are on the main road, and can hear the traffic. The fire pit didn’t work, they tried to fix it but think it just needs to be replaced. Would stay here again if looking for a large spacious home.

This was a great place to stay with a large group. We had a lot of space to move about for the different activities that we had planned. On top of that, we didn't have to Uber to any of our locations around Savannah. Our longest walk was 12 minutes and the area is cute to walk around. It was a great bonus to get to stay in such an old and historic house!

I rented this property for my sister’s bachelorette party. There was 10 girls total and everyone was able to sleep in a bed. All beds were King size which was very nice! We were also walking distance to pretty much everything!! When arriving everything was clean except the beds. They seemed to have been stripped but the bedding was wadded up on the beds. We contacted the office and they immediately sent someone out to fix this. We also lost power on 2 floors and after contacting the office they sent someone out right away. Even with these issues, we were very pleased with the response time! The office even allowed us to check out late due to this. I would definitely stay here again and recommend for a large group!

We would stay here again every time we come to Savannah! Perfect location, lots of space and so many amenities. Our families were perfectly comfortable during our stay!

Spanish Moss Inn is an old building, so expect some frustrating issues. The pass code only worked on the back door. The front door is not usable - locked outside and inside - so the main exit available was the back door. Not real safe conditions. Some kitchen outlets (including a GFI outlet) did not work when we arrived; we learned later that it was caused by a closed circuit breaker in a oddly located circuit box. Also, several outlets in the 3rd floor bedroom were not working. We found they are connected to the GFI outlet in the bathroom. Note that bedroom is not connected to the main HVAC system; it is cooled by a room A/C, which wasn't working. We had to search for some portable fans to help cool the bedroom by blowing air from the [cool] hallway into the room. After advising the management team about the issue, they sent a repairman to get it working. However, it was extremely noisy and didn't cool too well. BTW, the Inn supplies only one bath towel and one washcloth per person in each bedroom. And it only provides one kitchen washcloth and towel. Bring your own towels! Note that the 3rd floor bathroom is very small, particularly the shower; also, the toilet and sink are placed directly under some rather low rafters; I accidentally banged my head on them several times. Two of the bedrooms are in the basement, which was a bit damp. The floors on the first floor were rather dirty when we checked in.
3.0 / 5.0
The house is a large, grand old house within walking distance to many things. The common areas and bedrooms are large and decorated in high quality period furniture. The house is clean and the beds are very comfortable. Towels were large and fluffy. The following are worth noting: The house is on a busy street, some areas need some TLC (exterior, kitchen, basement door, stairwells), the baths and showers are not oversized as indicated in the description, two bedrooms are in the basement and one is on the 3rd floor, a few airvents need to be cleaned, furniture and knicknacks could be reduced to make the house flow better and feel less cluttered.

Cousins were driving to Florida and were planning a short stay in Savannah. We gathered from Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Atlanta for three days of sightseeing, eating and shopping.
The location was perfect for all the things. The decor provided an elegant yet relaxing atmosphere.

The House had plenty of room for 12 people .
The 2 basement rooms were huge !
Overall a very nice place and the property manager was always in touch if we ever needed anything.
Thanks again for a wonderful stay !
Close to everything we wanted to do!

This property needs many minor repairs. A few days before checking in we received an email indicating the main refrigerator was not working and the oven door would not close completely but was useable. A new refrigerator was supposed to show up Thursday but was never delivered. When entering the property, we saw a broken pot at the bottom of the steps and the screen on the back door had huge holes in it. When entering the dining room, we noticed a cushion broken on one of the chairs and the glass tabletop on the dining room table was chipped in many places around the edges. When entering some of the bedrooms we noticed that the ceilings needs to be repaired. They appeared as if they had water damage from leaks in pipes or leaks from the roof. The rooms in the basements are very dark and are in need of better lighting. The hallway going down to the bedrooms in the basement is very narrow. When we tried to enjoy the outdoor gas firepit, the tank was empty. When we put the umbrellas up outside around the tables and plugged in the lighting on the umbrellas, maybe half of the light bulbs worked. We picked up broken beer bottles and papers around the outside of the house. Not a great first impression. It's all these little things and more that if addressed could made this property so much nicer. We enjoyed our time at the Spanish Moss House, but this old house is in need of many repairs.

This house was very clean and was located in the middle of everything. The oven door and a refrigerator was broken. The rental company did let me know and they did everything in their power to rectify the problem. I will definitely be staying here again.
4.0 / 5.0
When we first arrived I was put off by exterior missing/broken shingles, moldy patio umbrellas and inability to get in the front door with the code. Could only be entered through the back and was assaulted by a not quite musty but off-putting smell inside. But then as we spent some time, it was great. Aired it out a bit and over time and exploring the city, realized the smell was probably due to the proximity to the water. It would benefit from some plug-in air fresheners throughout. The house has a lot of room, huge bedrooms, and noise originating inside the house from others is hard to hear. If you are in a bedroom facing the road, it is a MAJOR rush hour thoroughfare and SUPER loud with a of of trucks starting at 6am. Plan ahead to have white noise playing if you want to sleep. The back patio is a quiet place to hang out. Plenty of room for everyone but it could use some comfortable extra seating in the living room. Lots and lots of side tables, but not enough couch/armchair seating. My bed was comfortable and the house was clean. Easy walk to everything we wanted to do. The house really grew on me during our stay and we really enjoyed it. Would recommend to others.

Great value for the location and size of this house. You’re perfectly positioned directly across from the river walk and just about everything is in walking distance. Plus, finding a house to fit my large family, and everyone still have enough room for privacy, is hard to come by.

It was an amazing historical home. The back yard with the fire pit was an added plus. Loved that is was so close to everything.
Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful home.

We can’t get over how amazing the location of this house is! We parked our cars when we got there and didn’t get in them again until we left. This has to be the closest residential property to river street.
Getting into the house upon arrival was a little tricky, but once we got in we had no problems at all!
There was so much space! We had 8 adults and 3 kids with us. It was so nice for each family to basically have their own suite. The floors and stairs do make a lot of noise when people are walking around, but that didn’t bother us.
I will definitely stay here again the next time I’m in Savannah!

A great experience for 5 couples wanting to have a great experience on Bay St and the river front. The over door didn't close but we only cooked for one night and staff was responsive.
2.0 / 5.0
The property was not as seen in the pictures. It is a great location but the home was in a state of needing attention to the grounds, garage area, and home. It is an older home and there was a musty smell that stayed with us after our stay, we had to air out our luggage and items that we took into the home. The staff was responsive when contacted but did not provide follow up to the issues that we reported.
5.0 / 5.0
My group enjoyed our stay at this rental - very good home and location! There was one bathroom that was not cleaned up due to a miscommunication but the rental company was very responsive and had a cleaning crew on site very quickly!
5.0 / 5.0
Our party of 8 had plenty of room to spread out. The 2 grandkids were thrilled to have not only their own bed—but their own room! Right on the Main Street thru town so easy access to stores & restaurants. Close to many historical buildings within walking distance, or to hop on to the trolleys. Highly recommend this property for 8-10 people. With 5 full bathrooms, everyone could get ready for the day without waiting for a shower. Beautiful furnishings & very comfortable beds. Very well done!

Poor management
Arrived to find out there was 1 cot, not 2 as advertised. Southern Belle offered no solution and no response so someone slept on a couch. Also, we were told a technician would stop by to reattach an exhaust vent to outside window from an inside air conditioning unit on top floor which was extremely hot during July. No one showed up so that night we attempted to retape exhaust vent and propped a coat rack against it to hold it in place so the upstairs bedroom could be used.

Exceptional location and a stunning home
The location could not have been better. One street back from the river front with an easy walk to countless restaurants and shopping, next time I’m back in Savannah this will be my first listing to look for!

Great stay for multiple family vacation!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here with another family! 11 people total ranging from 1 year - 35+. Kid friendly. It was perfect because they stayed in the basement that has 2 large bedrooms & my family stayed on the 2nd & 3rd floor bedrooms. 1st floor is the main living area. Even with people in the main living area all the bedrooms were private. Great location! We walked to most places or took the public transportation. Riverstreet is right across the street. Kitchen was well stocked. Nice covered area to park with garage door. Lovely patio area with gas fire pit. I really liked that the property manager checked in with me to make sure our stay was going well!

Cute old house in a great location
Great customer service from property manager when we locked ourselves out one day. Tons of character! Stairs down to the basement are narrow and there are no rooms on the ground floor so just be aware if anyone in your group struggles this might not be the best house. It is right across from a green park and a quick walk to cobblestone streets and stores. We stayed here and drove out to the beach at Tybee Island which was about 25 minutes away and a really cute beach town.

Definitely A Gem!
Had a fabulous 6 days in Savannah. This house was a perfect location to everything. Such a charming huge old house. Everyone loved having their own bathroom and king size bed. Best stocked kitchen in a VRBO. Could have easily entertained a huge formal dinner party. Loved having a two car garage too. Best part was the back yard court yard with a gas fire pit. Spent many mornings sipping coffee out there and lots of laughs after a night in town. Just the perfect gem!

Sisters 60 to 80 celebration
It was very convenient to walk everywhere in Savannah, including the river. Unfortunately there was some construction on our block which made the area not to pleasant. I also would’ve liked to have known that there were two bedrooms on the second level two bedrooms in the basement and the third level has a fifth bedroom.
