About this house rental
DESCRIPTION:
The 208 Flume duplex has an Upper and Lower unit and is located in historic downtown Kellogg that has a mix of older buildings, restaurants, homes, sports complexes, and apartments. There are several vacation homes in the immediate area, and the Trail of the Coeur d’Alene is accessed a block away, so groups of vacationers and bike riders are often seen traversing through the neighborhood in the summer months. For winter sports Silver Mountain is less than a mile easy car drive away, and Lookout Pass is a 26 minute drive on I-90. Local specialty shops, cafes, and business are just across the street.
UPPER UNIT:
The Upper Unit is all on one level, but you must go up interor stairs to access the home. The stairs are accessed directly from the attached garage.
PARKING/GARAGE ACCESS:
There is parking in the attached garage for 1 vehicle, plus storage for bikes and gear. But, please note the following:
The garage parking space can easily fit a medium sized car, but larger vehicals will have a tighter squeeze!
The 50 foot driveway is 10 foot wide, so all car must go slow and use caution when backing out, especially larger SUVs & Trucks!
Parking outside the garage is not allowed except for unloading and loading while parked within a few feet of the single wide garage door.
Free public parking is across Flume Ave in the open public parking lot that is used by local residents, vacation renters, and people using nearby businesses.
SOFA BED - 6th Person Sleeping Space:
The 6th person sleeping space is on the sofa bed in the living room.

We spent 3 days and really liked the place. Very clean and the owner allowed us to store our bikes which was a plus. This property is a minute away from the playground via bike and walking distance to the grocery store. I would recomend it for sure. 4 of us had plenty of room.

Apartment was perfect for what we were looking for which was a close place to the Coeur d’Alene Bike trail. The place was stocked well and very clean. The TV is not set up for anything but streaming and you have to use your own account. The owner was very gracious and said he would try to get the TV set up for better viewing. We were the first “summer” renters so the A/C unit was not yet installed either, but we were supplied with a fan that worked just fine. The owner was very responsive and very easy to work with. We will definitely rent this unit again.

This has been our best stay! Well cared for unit, exceptionally clean. The owner was responsive and friendly and kept us well informed. I highly recommend this unit. You also get great views of the sunset!

Rich’s upper unit is as close to perfect as I can think of. There is plenty of heat and it’s customizable to each room, the fireplace was fabulous and each bed was very comfortable as well. We loved all the beautiful and simple decor and faux plants making it even more pleasant. It’s in such a great location and the perfect size for a short family stay. I think it’s quite a great deal for the price.

This place was amazing. Previous reviews stated parking was not ideal and tv was older. I found neither of these things an issue. Parking, although not right in front of the property, is very close. And winter conditions are what they are. We used the driveway for loading and unloading and parked right across the street. It was easy and quick. The apartment is so clean and has a full set of dishes and cooking essentials. The decor is very cute and homey. I loved it very much and will book again. It’s close to everything, including the mountain. And the owner is so nice and very responsive. For the price this is a luxury apartment. We stayed with friends but this is the perfect place for a family too. I can’t say enough about it. And this is all coming from a hotel/vrbo snob. I am very picky. Book this place with confidence. You can’t go wrong.

We really enjoyed staying in the apartment and would stay there again. The only downside was the parking. Parking in the lot was ok, however, with the snow and ice it was easy to slip and fall. Luckily were all careful and no one was hurt.

Very comfortable and clean
We had a nice stay while working on my Mom’s house who lives locally. The beds were comfortable and we loved the cozy living room with large tv and gas fireplace. Parking is an issue as you can’t park on the property, but there was plenty of parking in the lot across the street. Because we were there in the winter and it appears the road to the property doesn’t get plowed, walking from the lot and down the driveway was a bit difficult. the driveway was too icy to even drive down to load and unload. That wouldn’t have been a problem if we had all wheel drive. Obviously, if you’re coming in winter, be prepared. The condo is on the second floor and there are stairs going up directly after entering the front door. Once you’re upstairs everything is on one level. I mention this only because I sometimes travel with my daughter Who is in a wheelchair and it’s helpful to know about access. The shower was fabulous and there were lots of towels available. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. We had a very comfortable stay that would stay again. Thanks so much.

Property was great, very clean and modern updates make it very cozy. Only issue is a lack of parking. Public lot across the road that we were directed to park was always full.

Great Spot, Some Caveats...
Really a great location and Owner. Very clean, very comfortable. Rich is very responsive and really intends to have a great place, but it may not be for everyone. To the caveats...
Some things to consider:
PARKING is NOT at the condo (as described). And the road to/from the condo is more like an alley, not well cared for, and if you have a low profile vehicle you'll need to be careful. Any SUV, van, etc... will be totally fine. Clearly this is NOT the Owner's fault, but you should consider it. Also consider during winter months the parking lot to condo walk is VERY snowy / slippery.
INTERNET is really really buggy. Rich clearly tried to get the best internet he could, but it rarely worked well. Luckily I have T-Mobile which does have 5G at the site, so we used our data.
SMART TV is old. So it doesn't have apps on it like YOUTUBE TV or SLING TV or those types. App store is for an older model HD SHARP TV and did not have these options. It was a bit fustrating, but we ended up streaming from our computer to the TV via an HDMI connection (I brought my own HDMI cable).
If you are prepared for the parking and internet / TV issues, you'll love this place and the value it provides.
