I reached out to host via email a little over a week prior to our arrival, no response. I called the morning of our travel, no response. Agter a 6.5 hour drive, we arrived and I call again no, response. I called VRBO customer service, the unit the representative said we were assigned to hadn't been serviced. Beds were unmade and glasses were in the sink. Called customer service again and sent requested photos. Then representative put me in contact with host. Host stated she would call back in three minutes, never happened. A gentleman across the driveway put me in touch with the manager who arrived informing us we were assigned to a different unit. That unit was clean, but no linen was on the beds. We had to service the beds.

We love visiting Southport and this location is great and walkable to downtown.
The accommodations were very nice and clean and cozy. Ample room for 4-6 with a pullout sofa and two nice baths.
We will be back !

My husband and I stayed with our small dog in February. The home is wonderful on all counts. We had more room than we needed. Two couples or a family would be quite comfortable.
The location is great, in a quiet neighborhgood close to downtown and very dog-friendly. The pond out back draws interesting wildlife including a pretty red fox that passes through daily.
The home is quite well-equipped with updated appliances and more supplies than we normally see in vacation rentals. I especially appreciated that we did not have to buy paper products, plastic wrap, cleaning supplies, trash bags, or similar staple items that some vacation rentals in the area leave out.
Other touches were great, as well: soft linens, quality pillows, comfortable beds, fluffy towels, soft-close cabinets, stone countertops, good water pressure, roomy showers, quality fixtures, and nice workmanship in the home's construction. (I know I sound like a Realtor, but I might have offered to buy the place if I lived in the area).
Bottom line: this is a great property and recommended for a short visit or for a more extended stay.
