We are a family of 6 with 3 preteens and a 7 year old. The house was absolutely perfect! Clean, stocked with everything we needed. There was so much to do in the area that we didn’t have enough time to get to it all in 5 days. Highly recommend the resort and the house!

Communication was great, all information needed was sent leading up to the stay and for checkout. The house was perfect for our needs and in a beautiful area.
4.7
we enjoyed our stay, we were 6 adults for a bike trip (7 nights).
I would have no problem renting this house again.
the negative points:
-cleanliness of the beds
-there are not enough toilet papers for the stay
-only a dish towel
-only 2 garbage bags for the kitchen
-not enough dish soap for the stay

Bear Lodge was just as described and pictured. We were very comfortable there for a week. There was plenty of room for many our family of four; it would be a great spot for two families to enjoy. The house overall was well appointed for use.
The scenery and wildlife around the property were awesome to enjoy. Driving distance to the National Park was very convenient.

We rented the property to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We had an awesome time relaxing and just spending time with my in laws. Exceptional hospitality, highly recommend this property.
4.7
Was awesome, house and all aspects of the resort.

Located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac close to everything. Dryer broken, hot tub wouldn’t get warm on last night. Toys were great for kids. Sheets and pillows need to be replaced. Bring extra towels/blankets. Pictures accurate.

Overall a great place to stay. The property is as advertised in the pictures. Loved the layout and plenty of space. Amazing outdoor space and we used the screened in porch, hot tub and fire pit-you will need to bring your own firewood and starters.
The living room has floor to ceiling windows with spectacular view but no shades. Can seem a bit like living in a fishing bowl at night.
The home provided paper towels, cleaning supplies, TP, bedding/linen. The only issues we had were the lack of towels- sleeps 10 but there were only 8 small towels. No towels provided for the hot tub. Luckily one of the group arrived before most and was able to tell us to bring towels.
Two of the mattresses were very firm-we would suggest pillow toppers.
The driveway is limited-max number of cars is 4-5, and very narrow with high rock walls on each side! We had 3 mini-vans and it was tight. You are not supposed to park on the streets, there are public parking areas you can leave cars at and shuttle people back to the house.
Kitchen had basics for cooking but not a huge selection. If you have specific meals and prep needs I would suggest bringing the kitchen items with you.

We're two families with kids 6 and under. We used this lovely home for a getaway to do some hiking in the Shenandoah national park. Getting to our hikes took about an hour (it's the nature of getting to the skyline drive and to the trailhead you want), and then we returned to a beautiful home and relaxing hot tub! Resort amenities were available (indoor water park and more), but we did not partake as we had perfect hiking weather. We did a grocery pick up at the Food Lion in Elkton and the home had everything we needed to cook, grill, and serve our party of 8. Home was clean, comfy, and even had an electric fireplace that was heaven to sit next to at the end of the day. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed staying at this house, lots of space for all of us. The location was beautiful, we saw so many deer, right in the backyard. The included amenities at the fitness centers gave us lots to do.
4.7
This was a wonderful place for family. The house we rented had plenty of room for our family of 10. Everything you would need was in the house, which made it great for cooking meals in. House was not completely updated but clean and inviting. Didn’t use the hot tub since the deck it sits on looked bowed from the weight. Had to have repairman in for the dryer as it didn’t work, and the dishwasher needs to be replaced as it didn’t clean the dishes. Overall, the accommodations were great and just what we needed. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great family vacation in the beautiful VA mountains.

We enjoyed our stay at Massanutten Bear Lodge. The property was clean and spacious. We encountered bees at the hot tub, and the property manager responded promptly to treat the area. There were several deer and baby dawn that “visited” us each night by the back porch.

Great location, comfortable stay. Driveway at house is narrow. Inconvenient to maneuver vehicles.
Should do something about flooring transition strip between kitchen and living room. Several people tripped over it.
First floor toilet seat is loose.
Otherwise very nice.

The house was a great size for our family, the kitchen was well stocked and everything was wonderful.

The house was clean and very comfortable. Lots of room for the family and included sheets and towels. We spent lots of time on the screened porch out back relaxing with family. Neighborhood was very nice and quiet. Great location close to main entrance to the resort. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again.

Perfect setting for us and our family. Exceeded expectations and the layout was perfect for us!

This was a perfect place for our two families to meetup for a long weekend. The house was perfect for our group of 7. The two master bedrooms with attached baths were comfortable for the adults and the kids loved the bunk room. There was plenty of seating for all and we enjoyed using both the hot tub and gas grill. Would definitely consider coming back again!
4.7
We enjoyed the house and it's amenities. The only negative was there was no TV that worked in the master bedroom. When I let them know the tv didn't work they offered to have someone come in to fix it, which we appreciated. The house was a great escape from the hustle of city living
4.7
This property was cozy, clean, and was fully stocked to support our needs.

The only things that could be improved are the cleanliness of the dishes. The back door didn’t lock, don’t like having to pay extra to VRBO.

Loved our stay !!
4.7
Everything was just as expected, if not better! Everyone loved every minute of our stay there! Hoping to go again in the future!
4.7
This house was very comfortable and very well laid out. The kitchen had basic necessities, the bathrooms and bedrooms were good sized, and we got to see deer every morning. The owners were very quick to reply to a couple small snags regarding our stay and were accommodating in that regard. I'd recommend staying here. My only caveat is that if you have noisy neighbors there's not much you can do since the windows are single pain glass, so they aren't especially noise suppressing. However, this was the only downside, and a minor one that only effected the 2 of us staying in the master bedroom, the other 8 in our party had no issues.

We rented this property to have a weekend away to relax after a busy season with various activities. We were greeted with a “welcome” reusable bag full of household items that may be needed during the trip (e.g., extra roll of paper towels, dish soap, dishwasher soap, etc.). The home was nicely decorated and had most everything we could need. My only suggestion would be for a few more items in the kitchen. A 9x13 baking dish, a 2 Qt casserole and a couple of mixing bowls would make cooking a bit easier. I would gladly rent here again!

The property was Beautiful. It was just a weekend away to celebrate my sister's birthday and she had a wonderful time. The location of the property was perfect close to wineries, restaurants, and great hiking locations.

We rented the house for my daughter’s JMU graduation weekend and it was perfect! Good location, 7.5 miles from campus, close to wineries and breweries. Beds were very comfortable, house contained all the amenities we needed and the hot tub was a plus! We will be back for a winter get away, thank you!

The house was beautiful and spacious. Very clean and all the beds were super comfortable. Set in a neighborhood setting, so lacked the privacy and Mountain Views, but still very nice. The hot tub wasn’t working the first night, but the property management was great! They were on it immediately and remedied the issue. Great costumer service. Massanutten is a beautiful area and my family and I can’t wait to come back. Great Spring Break. Thank you!
