The home was clean but smelled funny, like cat pee or litter. Someone left load of laundry in the dryer fir us to deal with. Majir issye was no t.v. and vrbo said contact evolve. Evolve said contact local owner who was traveling and no help and poor communication . I woukd never rent home with no tv.. kitchen nice and huge. Living room, huge with one small couch. No rugs to do stretches and exercises on anywhere. Not enough surface area in bathroom although it was large. Shower clogged and i had to clean out a gross amount of hair not mine.
connection si it did not work. Property manager

One of the cleanest places I have stayed in. The property is very well kept. You can tell the owners take a lot of pride in the home. Home had most things we needed. Area felt safe. However the house itself made noise throughout the day/night. Didn’t really bother us until nighttime. I think a fan would be a great addition to the place and would help drown out some of the nighttime house/maybe fridge? noises. Would definitely stay here again. Large area in the living room to place an air mattress if needed. Large kitchen makes cooking easy! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

The house was beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Its location is so beautiful, right in the middle of the redwoods. Wish for a little more furniture, but we made it work. Thank you for sharing your home.

When I read the description, I picked this house because it was advertised as being close to the Sequoia Zoo ( a gem in Eureka). We were disappointed to find out that it is 1.5 miles away, not what we expected. We thought we’d be able to walk there easily.
I will say the house was clean and quiet and the bed was comfortable. The yard was beautifully landscaped, although too cold and rainy to be outside. My only other issue is the house was lacking in furniture. The entire front room is empty when you walk in the front door. There is a small couch in one part of the family room, but no coffee table or side tables to set things on. Also it would have been helpful to have more places in the bathroom to set things on. A small table would have been nice. Overall, clean, quiet and comfortable. Also, the kitchen is spacious and love the farmhouse cabinets and sink.

The home was clean, quaint and off the beaten path. Very private and affordable. We enjoyed our week a great deal, my only encouragement to the owners would be to invest in a comfortable couch. We did not utilize the living room at all because the tiny, creaky IKEA couch was not inviting. Had it been just an overnight stay, we may not have noticed, but a week without another room to relax in, was dissatisfying. Otherwise, a very charming home well located in a peaceful neighborhood.

This house is in a seemingly nice neighborhood and manages to feel secluded. When we arrived at the house, one of the patio doors was wide open. We informed the house owner and they responded promptly and said it was likely their cleaner who had forgotten to close it. The house smelled clean, but one of the bathrooms had no soap, and one pillow was missing a pillowcase. Otherwise it was a nice stay.

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely spacious one bedroom house. It was located in a quiet neighborhood. We used it as a hub as we explored the area, Eureka, Arcata, Ferndale etc. We had a wonderful stay.

Provided us a great home base to explore the redwoods, both north and south of Eureka. Nice home away from home to come back to each evening.

We loved our stay at this house. The place was quiet, clean and comfortable. The whole house has recently been remodeled and the kitchen was amazing.
The neighborhood is quiet and easy to take walks in.

The house is in a good location - close to good restaurants and shopping. Definitely suited our needs.

The home was nice. I wish the hot tub was in service. Also the grounds could use a little attention. The garden was full of weeds and the table outside is unusable because it needs refinishing. On another note, the interior could use a few more chairs. A single small couch is just not enough space for a family of four to sit. The fireplace had one loose firebrick. We did not want to use it due to safety concerns. If it was put back in place it would have been usable. Overall we had a good stay.

Everything was extremely nice and clean in a super quiet neighborhood. We absolutely loved our time at this beautiful home. As yearly visitors to Eureka this will definitely be our first choice for future visits!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home was spotless and visibly pleasing (I loved the purple accent walls) and had a zen like feel. The bed and couch were comfortable. It was nice to each have a bathroom (my husband recommends they add a hook for a towel/shirt in the smaller bathroom). The kitchen was bright and spacious. We knew in advance to bring our slippers (a chair or bench just inside the door to remove and put on shoes on the tile would have been helpful during the storm, we respected the no shoes throughout the home rule). The wrap around deck and back porch seating was delightful, and gave us a cozy outside spot to have coffee and watch the ravens cavorting in
the redwood trees across the street. When it is wet out, be careful on the deck because it is slippery (some of the caution signs had blown off in the storm). The yard must be beautiful in the spring. There are so many architectural and design touches, this place was a labor of love by someone with a vision. We agree with another vacationer that having a cozy chair or two and a reading lamp would be a nice addition. Even a little side table by the couch would be good. Overall it was a wonderful home and we enjoyed our stay.

Nice and quiet location. Five minutes from all the cool spots in Eureka. Could use some more furniture to make it a little more comfortable, but would book again.

We had a wonderful time staying in this small, charming rental. The location is close to downtown Eureka but is located on a small road just off I Street. The small street takes you from a suburban setting to a nestled, tranquil, beautifully treed and secluded location. Everything was clean and well cared for. The pictures and description of this rental accurately reflected the appointments. This house will be our choice if we need another rental in the Eureka area.
There were only two minor areas of concern, neither of which were problematic. The house was cold (57 degrees) when we arrived it took several hours for the fireplace furnace to bring up the temperature to a comfortable level. After that, no issues with heat. We had some problems ascertaining how to work with the TV cable system. We contacted the owner who promptly responded and provided both verbal and written instructions which we were able to follow without difficulty.

Beautiful home and a great location. Communication was good and everything worked as expected. The kitchen was well appointed and the main bath was great. Everything was very clean and easy to find and use.
Just a few suggestions I would make for the property. Could use just a little more furniture. Owners don't want shoes worn in the house which I respect and understand with a nice home. Would help though to have a long bench just inside front door where you can sit and put shoes on and off and maybe a table to place things on. Maybe a comfy chair also near tv and floor lamp for reading. A box spring on bed would be nice so it sits a little higher, but mattress was very comfy. The outside area is beautiful, but very little seating. Maybe refinish the large wood table and put chairs around it. Also a table and chairs near hot tub would be nice. Clean up hot tub and have that as another focal point of house. Finally lots of spider webs on most stuff outside. I realize there are probably a lot in the area, but hose them off every once in a while so the nice outside area is more appealing.
I don't mean for this to be knocking this home. It really is beautiful and a great place to stay. I have stayed at VRBO's all around the country and just made suggestions to take this home from 4 Stars to 5.

Beautiful house!
We absolutely love this place! The house is so beautiful with redwood siding, perimeter fence, and covered patios to enjoy the nature and fresh air from giant redwood trees. It’s spacious for a 1-bedroom house with a huge open kitchen with lights coming through French doors and windows. The location is also perfect for being in a secluded neighborhood with no thorough traffic, yet it is very easy to get to restaurants and other places. We will definitely want to return on our next trip.

Beautiful quiet home
Had a lovely experience at this place. We arrived late during night and felt at home right away. The place is clean, spacious with a large kitchen, not to mention that the air is fresh. There is a national redwood park and beach nearby, which we visited next day and had a great time. Definitely come back to this charming house soon.
