About this house rental
*Sleep In Promotion! Check Out at 12pm Oct 1st - Dec 21st.
This modern “Yurt house” is 5 min from Lake Gregory and is surrounded by forest majestic views on 10 acres. It’s your private forest playground. Hike on the trail from the house 1/2 mile into the forest & then continue to a smaller trail that goes for miles. The views & sunsets are amazing not to mention the wildlife you may see. Relax with a glass of wine, soak in the hot tub while gazing at the stars & see the beauty of the night sky. Built in 2012, everything is new and has windows, windows, and more windows, with the forest just on the other side. The open-concept design and high ceilings give it a grand feel and the wood-burning stove gives it a rustic vibe. There are a few different outside spaces to relax and have coffee, or a glass of wine and be one with nature. Note: There are 2 single pull-out ottoman beds in the living room along with a futon (not shown). Guests have access to the entire property and can explore the National Forest area as well. We are here if you need us. The property is named Pinecone Lodge at Falcon Ridge because these are the largest pine cones in the world that can be found here! And standing on the edge of the ridge you will see the falcons soaring high above. Located just 5 minutes from Lake Gregory, this property is on the edge of the National Forest with incredible views of the surrounding mountains and forest, yet 5-10 minutes from downtown Crestline. It’s the perfect combination of seclusion and great access when you want to go out for dinner, to the grocery store, walk around the lake, or enjoy Lake Gregory’s activities. Just 5 minutes away is the Refresh yoga studio and 3 minutes away is Sycamore Ranch Vineyard and Winery (the local family-owned winery - plan with reservations). There is also a jeep trail nearby that will take you the back way to Silverwood Lake (14 miles). A car or bike is a great way to get around. If biking, there are hills! We have added a futon in the living room for another sleeping option. Up to 2 dogs are welcome. About the Area: Lake Arrowhead, Lake Gregory, and Big Bear Lake are recreational lakes in the Southern California San Bernardino mountains. They offer fresh crisp air, cooler weather (10-15 degrees) in the summer, and snow in the winter. They also offer a more relaxed and low-key energy “vibe” making them ideal locations for getaways to renew the mind, spirit, and body and to reconnect with family and friends. We answer frequent questions regarding the lakes and have put together some information below on what makes each location unique so it is easier to match with your specific goals for your time away. Upon booking one of our properties, you will receive more detailed information on how you can spend your time in the area. Big Bear Lake is a public lake and friendly to all types of boats and water sports and is the largest lake of the three. There is a short paved bike and walking trail that goes along the lake. Big Bear is a City and is more populated with stores, restaurants, and nightlife than the other two locations. It has more of a “desert” feel in terms of its topography. Big Bear is 26 miles up the mountain from Lake Arrowhead, Although none of our properties are in Big Bear, we recommend it for a day trip. Lake Arrowhead is a private lake and is accessible to guests staying at properties with lake rights if the owners have permitted guests to use their ALA (Arrowhead Lake Association) passes. If this is the case, the Amenity “lake access” will be checked on the listing. In our list of properties, the Gingerbread Cottage is providing lake access. With lake access, specifically, the lake trail is accessible. There is a $10 per person per day fee that is required to be paid to receive a wristband for access. More information can be found on the ALA website. Swimming is allowed from the lake trail at any location except the beach clubs (these are restricted to owners). There is no ability to launch boats or SUPs on the lake. The Village is lakefront and is the main area for shops and restaurants and has a fitness center as well. The Queen boat is a tour boat on Lake Arrowhead that provides much of the history of the town - tickets can be purchased at the shop by the lake. There is a local company that offers water skiing lessons boat tours and rentals. This area has more of a small town and alpine feel to it. The Villas area (south side of the lake) in Lake Arrowhead is cooler and gets more snow that lasts longer than the north side of the lake which gets more sun in the winter and is hotter in the summer. The Villas area is an older area with older homes and narrower streets. The Tudor House is an event center offering Sunday brunch and a variety of events. Skypark is a local attraction as well as Snow Valley for skiing for both Lake Arrowhead and Lake Gregory. Lake Arrowhead is 15 minutes up the mountain from Lake Gregory. Lake Gregory is a public lake in the town of Crestline, a small town about 20 minutes from the base of the mountain of San Bernardino. It is the closest mountain town to events and locations “down the hill”. In the past few years, the lake operations have become privately managed with significant improvements being done at the lake including the development of a water park, beach improvements, and boat, kayak, and canoe rentals. There is a fee to access the beach area and the water park and no fee to access the 2 1/2 mile trail around the lake. Fishing is allowed and more info can be found on the Lake Gregory website. Crestline has a small-town alpine feel with the lake nestled amongst the tall trees. Crestline gets less snow than the other 2 lake locations. The quaint town has restaurants, coffee shops, and thrift stores. Twin Peaks/Blue Jay sits in between Crestline and Lake Arrowhead and is convenient to both lakes. It has its restaurants, shops, and thrift stores. It is famous for its outdoor farmer’s market on Thursday afternoons (seasonal).
The age minimum is 25 (families with kids welcome).
To make it more affordable for smaller groups, an extra guest fee of $15 per guest per night applies after 2 people.
4WD and chains are required in the event of snow in the winter
For 28+ night stays, please inquire first (not instant book); the following deposits apply:
Refundable damage deposit is $100
Refundable cleaning deposit is $350
45-day cancellation policy and for shortened stays
Although we love puppies, we cannot accept dogs under 1 year old.
Note: The cleaning fee for 28+ night stays is higher than the short-term cleaning fee in the listing.
For stays 28 nights or longer, the cleaning fee is $280. The difference between this fee and the initial cleaning fee paid upon booking will be collected along with the deposits before check-in.
Immediately after booking you will receive our short rental agreement to review and accept.

Very nice home. Perfect location for those wanting privacy. Mountains with beautiful pine trees surrounding you. As described, huge pinecones.

This property and amenities are wonderful, we had a great time.

We had the best time at Pinecone lodge. The house was beautiful and comfortable. We loved relaxing on the deck and the hot tub was perfect!! Next time we’ll stay longer

Cozy and peaceful. Our family had a relaxing time taking in nature and relaxing in the jacuzzi. Our dogs enjoyed themselves too.The dogs next door did visit often as they were off leash. Unfortunately the entire family contracted Pseudomonas a bacterial infection from the jacuzzi. We have reached out to inform management and have yet to recieve a response. So we are all now on antibiotic prescriptions. A bit disappointing to say the least.

Super cute and clean house- looks updated and new inside too. The hot tub was our favorite part, we spent most of the night inside the hot tub. The communication was awesome, and wifi works great. There’s also a little fire place in the house which was perfect for when we got out of the hot tub- it warmed us up perfectly. The ONLY negative I will mention is that the neighbors have 2 or 3 large dogs that do wonder onto the property.. usually this would be no big deal! I love dogs, but I brought my 2 dogs with us this trip and they are not dog friendly- this added a big stressor for me when I was hoping not to have to worry . I did have my dogs on long leashes but I was worried the other dogs would approach mine. I am writing this to give the next dog owners and heads up and not to complain- still giving 5 stars because we did love it.

We had the most wonderful time visiting this property and the surrounding area. It was a much needed escape to relax, enjoy each others company & the natural peace and beauty of Pinecone Lodge. We absolutely loved how secluded this property is while still being a quick and convenient drive to so many neat places to have fun and explore. Check in and out was easy & any questions we had were answered quickly. We just had the best time and hope to be able to return sometime. Highly highly recommend!

Extremely comfortable house with everything that you need. So quiet that the only thing you hear is the wind, birds, and far away neighbor's rooster. You definitely can NOT access this property with a low sitting sports car, but during the summer any other vehicle is OK.

Loved the location the views and the time to relax in the hot tub. I can't recommend retreating here enough.

This was exactly what we wanted - a clean, updated and unique place in nature. Had everything you'd want to enjoy some peace and quiet. Would definitely stay here again!

Nice place, very beautiful around the house. Will come back for sure!

This is an fantastic home in an excellent location! My wife and I enjoyed the peaceful quiet prevails on the outside deck and at the hot tub, and yet could still drive into Crestline and neighboring communities to experience all the small town wonder they had to offer. It was great!
4.9
The property is very secluded, but well maintained. Very unique and peaceful experience. Beautiful deck with a hot tub and grill. Highly recommend staying here. Just be prepared for some windy mountain roads and a bit of dirt road at the end, but it was absolutely worth the journey.

Peaceful Getaway
My wife and I stayed here and loved it! It was so peaceful and quiet in a secluded area. The house had everything we needed including AC which was awesome on a hot summer day, especially after a good hike. The hot tub/deck area is a nice feature with a great view, and a great place to hang out in the evening. If there is 1 thing I would change, it is the outdoor security lights at night shining on the hot tub/ deck area - the lights are on constantly and are bright - it takes away from star-gazing on a clear night. Maybe motion sensor lights or something (?). Overall this place is awesome and we would love to stay there again someday.

The home and location were beautiful!
Let me first say, I have been using this site and App for over 15 years to book my vacation rentals.
This was the ROCKIEST experience I have ever had property management company.
I’ll start with the great stuff. The home was super clean and well stocked. It is 15 minute drive to town and is not walking distance to anything except some of the cool trails.
The check in process was sort of a joke. The email they send ahead of time is not specific about check in instructions. There was no one to greet us or give us the code to get in the front door. Check in time is 4:00, which is when we arrived and called the property manager for 30 mins trying to get the code. They apologized but said they had to make sure our damage deposit went through, even though we had already spoke to one of the team members earlier that morning and was charged TWICE for damage deposit. This property management company has poor communication with the renters and within the team.
We waited in the sun for 45 minutes with our two Senior dogs for their response. They finally responded with the code and we were able to get in and get settled. Since this is a very remote area, they said they did have WI-FI but it didn’t work the entire time we were there. We downloaded movies ahead of time to watch later with the chrome cast tv and even then was constantly buffering.
My advice, if you’re local, bring a Blu-ray player and some movies. Luckily we had games and coloring books.
This property manager will nickel & dime you. I have never dealt with such bad communication as far as pricing goes. The listing states a pet fee. So I figured each pet. But the listing should state, the pet fee per Pet PER NIGHT. they did honor it and let me do BOGO on the pet fee.
We enjoyed our stay and it was peaceful and relaxing. We wanted to get away from the firework noise of the city for our senior dogs.
With that said, we check out at 10 AM and left the home as clean as we arrived. When we got home, I noticed the TWO charges still in my bank account. I tried to contact the property manager and no one responded back. I had to contact VRBO to get some sort of resolution on this overcharge. They contacted the owner, who emailed me back to say there wasn’t a double charge on their end. They emailed me to say I had gotten some dog hair on one of the beds. they asked me to pay an $$ for pet hair!On top of the huge cleaning fee!
I will NEVER rent from THEM AGAIN!

The cabin was just what we wanted - a private, quiet property with all the comforts of home. The property itself was amazing with what are essentially your own private hiking trails. The cabin was clean, modern, and very comfortable. If you're looking for quiet and relaxing this is the place!

First off, the hosts are amazing, so kind, and quick to respond. Upon arrival at the house, you can tell they take care and pride in this mountain getaway. The house is beautiful, well set up, and very clean and comfortable. The property is Pvt, surrounded by forest and mountains.....the perfect escape from the city. The dogs loved exploring the trails and forest that surround the property. At night, the stars were endless. Crestline town is a short drive away with plenty to do and eat! I will be back again for sure.

Comfortable, clean, remote (yet close to town) stay. We loved feeling like we were in the woods but still very close to everything. We enjoyed walking the trail right behind the house, and watching movies by the fire place. Very clean, modern and comfortable for a small family. We will be back!

Beautiful, comfortable house on a secluded property. The lake and town are easily accessible. We loved relaxing in the hammock and stargazing at night.

Wonderful Stay!
We had an excellent time at this “hidden” gem. Wonderful mountain getaway yet close enough to amenities. House was immaculate and so easy to care for. We’ll be back!

The property itself is really cute, it’s very isolated from town, nothing within walking distance, but lake Gregory is a couple miles down the road. Our biggest issue was that we stayed in this property during the summer..it was only a couple weeks ago and there was no mention of the property not having AC..no warning beforehand from the property manager either, knowing there would be a heat wave that weekend. I stayed there with my family and 2 of our older dogs. When we arrived at the home at 4pm, it was 91 degrees in the house with only one box fan to circulate air..which at that point doesn’t do anything because it was too hot in the house. We messaged the property manager and it didn’t seem like she cared. We toughed it out and slept in the house the first night, mind you, it never got below 85 degrees in the house. Then we decided to leave the next morning. Our lake arrowhead trip was less than 24 hours, and it’s hard to say we weren’t disappointed. I wasn’t expecting a refund by any means, but maybe a voucher to come back or some kind of customer service. I felt really ripped off and not warned at all that there was no AC…we would’ve never booked this place had we known they didn’t have AC.

What a beautiful location tucked away into the mountains-yet still close to activities!
We spent time hiking the property, going to lake Gregory and then stopped at sycamore ranch vineyards-what an extra treat that was SO close!
The communication with the host was excellent!
The place was updated and was clean.
Would highly recommend this location!

Crestline Cabin
We loved our stay here! There was an issue with the internet but the owners took care of it very quickly once we informed them, so we were very pleased. The cabin was very clean. The location was perfect for our needs. We were worried it would be too hot in July since there was not air conditioning but all we had to do was open the windows to let in the great mountain breeze and we were fine.. It felt cooler than our house. We are definitely planning to return next year and some other times during the year.

Perfect Weekend getaway
My family stayed at the house for a short getaway vacation. The kids had a great time and the house had all the amenities. It was away from everyone in a nice secluded area. We walked the trails and enjoyed the sunrise and sunset. We saw wildlife in the early morning hours. Perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle and a short drive to town and activities.

The yurt-shaped house had every amenity we could possibly need. The location was incredible. It didn't just "seem" remote, it really was. Wonderful nature trails right outside the front door and a winery only a 10-15 minute drive away. We were here for two days and left feeling so relaxed. It was a perfect getaway and we definitely want to come back. Great wifi reception as well, if you need it.

Great place to stay
Needed a quick weekend getaway away from the city and this was perfect. We were very comfortable with everything we needed. Sycamore Winery was right down the road for wine tasting and not much further away is Lake Gregory.
Would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable place to in the San Bernardino mountains.

We had a wonderfully peaceful stay at this home! The property itself is lovely, well-appointed, clean and one with nature! The outside is as wonderful as the inside! It is secluded, yet close to anything we would have needed. The home offers lots of windows to bring the outside in. We saw deer, blue jays, rabbits, and the biggest pine cones on our hike. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and look forward to staying again in the future!
