Wonderful place to relax and take in some stars..walking distance from Blank-O. Definitely recommend…thank you April!

It is a beautiful cottage, in a traditional little Texas town. Plenty to do and places to relax and have a fine meal. I wasn't there for a get away, rather a place to stay and study while attending a nearby training. The cottage was very comfortable and a perfect place to quietly study and relax. One suggestion, there are several remotes in the cabin, have extra batteries available. The TV batteries were going out which was a bit frustrating the first night. Fortunately there were batteries for sale very near by.

We miscommunicated our early check-in, so perhaps that is the reason for some of our concerns. The place was completely ready with towels in place and beds made, dishes clean, etc. When we pulled back the sheets we saw a lot of dog hair and a spot of blood. The comforter had a yellow stain. There was no bath soap or shampoo. Just two bottles of conditioner. The bathroom vent could use a cleaning. And the rugs needed a fluff. Despite this, when we brought it to the attention of the host, it was quickly remedied. Under the bed and sofas could use a good sweep. No, we were not looking for dust. We just saw it when we were looking for the remote control (we lost it in the seat cusions). Perhaps recent rain kept the yard from being mowed. Not a big deal since it was too hot to be outside for very long. Getting the tv to the cable station was a little confusing. We figured it out, but my 70 year old parents would have never figured out. All in all, a really good experience. I leave the above-items so that this place stays a hidden gem.

Nice and moderized.
Very displeased that the back door locks were poorly installed. The Dead Bolt would not
engage because the hole was drilled incorrectly. The door handle apparently had the same
problem.
When locking both, the door could just be pushed or pulled open. The lighting was great if
you needed bright lights, bjt t

Great place and we would recommend it!!

Cute cabin, very clean and peaceful. We were upset it listed a grill and one wasn't on site, minor thing but we planned a weekend getaway of outdoors and grilling.

Very nice cabin and grounds was great for our stay in Blanco. Very close to downtown Blanco

Really enjoyed staying at the Blue Jay getaway and would definitely stay again. Some of the towels could use a bleach and I think a Brita pitcher would be helpful for the Keurig so you don't use tap water, but otherwise no complaints. Easy to get to, easy to get to the square, beautiful views out the back (loved getting to sit and watch the deer), and it felt safe to be at alone. I missed the first email with the door code and when I called, the company was quick to send me a new email and stay on the phone to make sure I was able to get in. Since these two houses are so close, it would be great for two couples or family members wanting to stay close together but have their own space

We were surprised by the small but very adequate space! We would probably rent this place again and would recommend it to anyone..
Instructions for the heating and cooling devices would be handy but we did figure everything out.
Thanks for having us.

Positive:
* Super fast internet.
*Clean.
*Strong water pressure.
*Great location. Only a block from Blanco Town Square.
*Private back yard with covered porch, chairs, table and a field of bluebonnet wildflowers.
*Secure fenced in area for a small dog.
*Nice neighborhood roads with light traffic for walking.
Negative:
*No instructions for how to use the A/C remote. YouTube has a short instructional video.
*Unit B front door is 30-ft from Unit C front door.
*No light over kitchen sink.
*The bed has two separate single sized foam mattresses on the bed frame, making it rather awkward for couples. Only two small single sized pillows are provided. The two king sized pillows on the bed are covered with pillow shams, with no king sized pillow cases available.
*The loft has a foam mattress available, but the head clearance is so low only a small child could use it. However, the steep ladder would be too dangerous for a small child.
*No broom and dustpan available for guest use.
*No TV channel guide. When scrolling thru channels, you get countless "You do not subscribe to this channel" results
*Both ceiling fan remotes share the same radio frequency ... they both respond to
either remote. You need to turn one off using the wall switch to control the other using the remote.
Overall:
We enjoyed our stay, especially the close proximity to town and the private back yard. However, with the existing mattress and pillow situation, we probably would not choose this unit again.

The house was exactly what we were looking for - a quaint little place in the Hill Country for a weekend. The property is modern while still keeping small town charm.
4.8
The house is cute and comfortable. We just encountered a couple problems on our stay. One was the front porch was completely covered with ice and we had to go and buy ice melt and apply it ourselves to keep from breaking our necks. Second problem was the tv didn’t work and the property manager was not able to get it working for the duration of our stay. We did not feel like much effort was made in resolving this issue, and the manager seemed busy with other projects more important than helping us.

We loved our stay at Blue Jay Getaway! It was a simple, relaxing place and well-located near plenty of activities. We enjoyed down time in the home as well as getting out and around the Hill Country. Will definitely keep on our list for possible return trips!

We were able to enjoy the music festival and take a break when we wanted.

This was a cute, perfect cabin for my husband and me for our visit with relatives in Blanco. Nice and quiet, but quite near to everything. Would definitely recommend this property.

We enjoyed this wonderful little house—very comfy and cozy. There were a couple of minor glitches but no big deal. Be aware that the only coffee maker is a Keurig—bring your own coffee k-pods along with sugar and creamer. Lowe’s market has everything you need. Very peaceful and quiet neighborhood.

Clean and comfortable. Great location for quick trips to Johnson City, Albert, Luckenbach etc. 5 min or less to State Park and 2 minutes to town square for restaurants and drinks. Highly recommend for a “quick getaway” stay.

Great accommodations. Super clean and updated. Just enough access to the outside world for things I forgot to bring and plenty of quiet and solitude.

Would go back…
Really enjoyed this cottage. It’s a short drive (could walk) to the small town center. Perfect for a weekend getaway!

Quiet Weekend Retreat, Complete
Our first time using VRBO and it was perfect. We needed a weekend away from Austin's hustle/bustle, and this is just what the doctor ordered. In walking distance to the amazing downtown square and to the beautiful river too. Property was immaculate and new, and we would love to return again sometime for rest, relaxation & re-focus. Thank you!

Quiet and Cozy
We loved the stay here at this Property! It was the perfect size for my boyfriend and I, plus our dog. Bed was surprisingly comfortable considering it was two bed put together. Property was very clean and had everything we needed, just make sure to bring your own cooking items i.e. salt, pepper, cooking oil. I was initially concerned about my dog getting out of the enclosed yard space because the fencing is low but it worked out perfectly. We played board games on the patio and watch the stars at night. Very close to Blanco State Park and Old 300 BBQ (highly recommend). Also, driving distance to the wineries in Fredericksburg. We would defintiely love to come back!
