Amazing Location to walk to the falls and staff brilliant
Nice pool (cold!) and lovely food
Whilst our stay was great - value for money wise we would not stay again. The rooms are not huge and apart from location and staff, there is nothing that warrants the very high price tag in relation to other places we have stayed.
Most frustrating thing was that they have an activities desk and a list of activities and prices are available prior so (unlike normal) we didn't research in very much detail. Upon arrival we were so very disappointed to find that the prices were wrong by quite a bit (different season prices and added transfer costs), almost all activities are only available in the morning so if limited number of nights stay it limits the activities you can do and the whitewater rafting didn't state that during the month we visited age restrictions applied (we knew the rafting was varied for the river conditions but no mention of age). The Boma dinner only runs on certain nights so we missed that and the only trip we did take via the desk was late.
After much stress and disappointment after looking forward to an action packed stay we managed to source our own activities and had a great stay but paying so much for the Avani I felt a bit annoyed just at the lack of relevant information.
Can definitely recommend https://www.shockwavevictoriafalls.com/ for rafting - such a fabulous company and trip
and for any travels and other activities some brilliant service from https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g298089-d15224113-Reviews-Matmeja_Transfers_and_Tours-Livingstone_Southern_Province.html for everything we needed

Location is good
Dinner takes a bit of long time to deliver

Breakfast was very good. Some good options. But the best in the proximity to Vic Falls. It is actually right behind the hotel, 6 minute walk or less. And saw elephants at night as we entered and giraffes in the morning as we exited.
Our first room was clean but had a bug problem. They promptly switched us to a room which was perfectly clean.

From start to finish we were impressed. Kind staff, delicious breakfast buffet, proximity to Victoria Falls (with free entrance), Boma dinner opportunities and of course the Wild life (mainly Zebras and giraffes) roaming around. Wow-effect guaranteed.
The pool paint could be renewed, as it stains feet and hands.

It was wonderful facility. Staff delightful . I loved the zebras..

location was the best
The location was fantastic right by the Falls but because of that, the noise from the Helicopters all day was a bit annoying.

The location is fantastic! Rooms were great and everyone was very friendly
Family had to split rooms so we had to pay for an additional room with no discount. Only 2 per room which was ok but why have to pay full price for another room. I was in the hotel industry for 30 years and this hotel did not accommodate our request for lower rate!! :(

You pay a pretty penny but it's worth it! The Avani at Vic Falls is a beautiful property that is situated within the Mosi oa Tunya National Park. What that means is you will definitely spot zebras walking up for a drink at the pool and baboons scampering through the walking paths and even giraffes roaming about. But the best perk is that your room key gets you admitted to the park so you can explore the Zambian side of the Falls at your leisure from the hotel. Likewise for any other safari activities that will take you to the park while you're a guest.
The staff were very friendly and the buffet breakfast was abundantly delicious. Poolside dining for lunch was also affordable and delicious with a wide variety of options. Late checkout also not a problem.
I can't think of anything that detracted. It's a splurge but worth it. Vic Falls offers many activity excursions but you'll pay double thru the hotel what you would if you book on your own with an independent tour operator.

Location was great. Surroundings were fantastic. The restaurant and breakfast arrangements were superb. Proximity to the Falls is the highlight of the resort.
1. The water in the shower was too hot. The taps are cumbersome to adjust the water temperature. You need to upgrade to a regulator type faucet.
2. There’s no exhaust fan in the bathroom. The excessive steam can be suffocating.
3. The door key card needs to be upgraded to a more modern ‘tap mechanism’. The current key card doesn’t work often. One has to walk to the reception to reset it. And if there are more than one key cards for the room, the system resets all of the cards for that room, thus locking out the other person. This happened several times during my stay. It can be very annoying and irritating.

very good breakfast with an exceptional outlook poolside. complete menu of foods available and great friendly staff.
just a couple little things when we arrived regarding the room but was soon sorted out.

I love the location, the best to visit Victoria Falls.
The staff!!! Ohhh my God they were the kindest so polite so nice , they did everything to make our trip the best
The bathroom amenities were poor, for example my hotel in Lusaka provided good quality body lotion, bath gel, and was a cheaper hotel. Avani could provide amenities for each guest. But everything else was perfect, the food of the restaurant was delicious.

position
overpriced and the dinner was a disaster. 1-30 minutes for food to arrive and wasn’t cooked correctly. We ate at the Livingstone too and was unbelievable setting but food very average. Avani you can see there is a lack of maintenance

I will never forget this hotel. it is near the falls (Zambian side), whic are much better and organized than falls in Zimbabwe side. If you stay in this hotel you also don’t need to pay the entrance fee. The Zimbabwe side cost 30 USD pp. What we found the most unforgetable were the animals in this hotels, you can see zebras, girafes…. infront of your room. Beautiful!!!!!! I would also like to say that Patricia at the front desk helped us a lot with some complication that we had about Zambezi cruise. And finally the food was sooo good that it is good that we didn’t stay longer😀
nothing
