We loved the area and especially the home. It was so welcoming. My kids and parents (70+) thought they were in a dream. The game room was perfect for family night, movie night and I even taught the little ones how to play billiards. The kitchen was has everything for cooking whatevere wanted to make. Breakfast eggs, sausage, pancakes to dinner spaghetti n meatballs we even baked some brownies.
Overall great experience and we’re looking forward to using the home on our next visit to Portland.

The house worked well and was very nice for a group of 10. With that said, it showed a ton of issues that clearly were problems with upkeep. A noncomplete list: the grill bottom was burned out and immediately enflamed and dropped flames onto the deck, the cold water to the sink was turned off, there was a leak under the fridge leading to a leaking ceiling in the basement, the foosball table was breaking and unusable, a dead tree fell while we were there and almost hit the deck, one of the beds that was supposed to be a queen was actually just another full bed, several chairs were breaking, the games were missing pieces. Overall the house was fine and we had fun, but it wasn't worth the price and/or should have had repairs done before having more people stay.

Excellent in every respect, and reasonably priced.

We stayed at this property while in the Portland area for a college graduation. There was 13 of us staying there. We all loved it! The house was nicely laid out with 3 bedrooms upstairs and another 3 downstairs. All were very nice. The kitchen was an adequate size for our group and was supplied with everything we needed to cook food. The dining room had a large table that sat several people. The back deck was great with 2-3 levels to it. The game tables downstairs and the bar/game room in the garage were a wonderful bonus! The neighborhood was quiet and the people we encountered were friendly. The house was located close to the the highway and getting around was convenient. Gas stations and stores to buy groceries were easy to get to and just a few minutes away. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone traveling in the Portland area.

Great place with lots of space to spread out for large groups of all ages. We flew in for my father’s celebration of life events, and this was a nice home base.

We booked the Tanner basin retreat as a homebase for our weekend getaway in Portland for a wedding. Our family enjoyed the fun games and activities available in the home i.e. pooltable foosball basketball rims, and board games. The location was perfect and accessible to airport and downtown Portland and other fun hikes and activities.

Our family visited Portland for our daughter's wedding. Thanks to the availability and hospitality of this property, we were able to relax, plan, and celebrate together.

The area was very nice, close to shopping, plenty of restaurants and a great food truck area… we wanted a house that had room for our family with things to do in the house while it’s raining outside! Pool table and old time Nintendo games was great. There was a hole in the ceiling in the lower level and water was dripping in the fireplace in the lower level. I think they were repairing the leak but they didn’t tell us there was a leak or a hole in the ceiling… the trash was full from the previous clients, but the management said we could leave any trash that didn’t fit in the cans in the garage…we had a fire in the fireplace the first night but the smoke filled the house.. yes the flue was open, maybe chimmy needs to be cleaned. we had a good Christmas and the house was overall nice…it would have been nice to know there was a leak and a hole in the lower floor ceiling before we arrived. The home was expensive and we do a lot of VRBO across the states and in other countries and this one didn’t rate five stars

From the first step into the home we could tell the space had been cleaned. The space was comfortable and easy to navigate. We had fun playing pool and games. We used the home for a weekend spot for our daughter, her fiance, and their wedding party for them to be together and close by for all wedding activities.

Awesome place, clean, lots of space, we had 9 people in our group and never ran into short of space. Wish I could have enjoyed outside (weather) decks. If I return will definitely looking into staying here again.

We came for a wedding and our scattered family all stayed together. It was a great place for us all. We enjoyed the pool table and game room. It gave us time to just be together. Plenty of space for everyone and comfortable.

I had to call property manager to get check-in instructions. No email sent, as promised at booking. Very impersonal management.
The house was fine. A bit spendy. We had a great trip.

This house was beautiful and great for my entire wedding party to get ready in. While we were upset to get texts at 10 pm basically telling us to go to sleep because talking was too loud for quiet hours, at least we were notified before it was an issue. My maid of honor left an item in the room she stayed in and within a week they had it mailed to her, super grateful for that! Overall a good stay.

Rented so extended family could be together for OC wedding. House basically well appointed for nine, beds comfortable, etc. We had trouble with the refrigerator the first night. Mgt was responsive, but could not instruct us over the phone for resolution. I believe it needed to recalibrate after being off, or not sure what. The railing in the walkway leading to front door is very wobbly, needs attention, as does an outlet in the primary bath, which looks like it was forgotten in the remodel. There were four rolls of toilet paper in a three bathroom house, which meant we had to shop. I think for the money we paid, there should have been more TP available. Lastly, the guests who stayed in the lower level, all said their towels were mildew smelling, which is a very unpleasant thing to discover coming out of the shower. All small niggly kinds of things, but this is the sixth house I have rented for a family function, and the most expensive, I think the details should be dialed. Susan M

The Tanner Basin Retreat is a spacious home in a picturesque setting within close driving distance to Downtown Portland. Our work group was accommodated well with 6 bedrooms, plenty of workspace and a great patio setting on both levels behind the home. The owning company was very communicative and responsive to the few concerns that we had, and it was appreciated immensely. Thanks for a great stay!

My family had to fly from the east coast to Oregon due to the sudden death of a family member. This location provided a wonderful respite where we could all be together comfortably was in a great neighborhood close to everything we needed. Summer visit would enable more use of the outside area of the property. Would highly recommend the house.

This house was perfect for all of us as we weee there for a baseball tournament! Very clean and the kids loved the game rooms

Great house for a mix of adults and kids. Management team was great and was able to accommodate an early check in. Our kids had a blast with the downstairs and having the space to themselves. Adults ended up appreciating the lack of TV upstairs because it made it so we were able to catch up more without distraction. The porch decks were beautiful, and the checkout procedures were easy. The pool sticks could use more rubber and one set of bathroom towels had a fuz on them so I had to rewash them when we checked in, but those are small things. The complimentary bottle of Oregon wine is a nice touch upon check in. I would recommed this house to any group (adults or kids) for a nice and fun place to stay.

This was a great house for our family's Thanksgiving weekend! We had lots of room to spread out and plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy. The pool table, foosball and basketball were great hits! The round table downstairs was perfect for games and puzzles. The neighborhood was peaceful and great for walking.
Beds were comfortable. The kitchen was very will stocked and worked well for serving Thanksgiving dinner.
We would definitely stay here again.

The property accommodated our group of 8 adults and 2 children well. The only downsides were the sparse and mediocre kitchen supplies (sparse amount of pans, bowls, cooking utensils made cooking meals for a large group difficult - and the only wine glasses provided were crummy plastic ones- in wine country!)

Excellent property for us. Grandparents, two sets of parents, and four grandchildren ages 5-12. We live in 3 different states and met in Portland for extended family event. House was perfect for our family. Room for all of us and lots of fun activities in the house. A+ venue.
