Beautifully decorated cabin. Well stocked kitchen. Lots of road noise as cabin is right next to a highway.

We rented the cabin in July. The cabin has good space. However, the west facing patio was too sunny during the day and evening to cook outside and although there are trees in the area, the lot was not wooded. The patio view was not relaxing, it was of some sort of horse/farm animal training area, which drew alot of flies to the patio and house. The grill drip pan was dirty and full. There was also an abundance of moths the house. I think they might be coming from the animal heads mounted to the wall. There was no central air, only a motel like unit in the loft area, that was not able to cool the house properly. However, fans were provided. The kitchen was well equipped, but a couple of fry pans need to be replaced. Only one bath towel per person was provided for a 4 night stay and the bath tub drained very slowly.

Our stay at this cabin included 4 adults and 3 children, consisting of a 14 yr. old, 6 yr. old, and 1 yr. old. The cabin had plenty of space for all of us and I really appreciated the baby gate at the property so I could block the stairs from the curious 1 yr. old. The property was clean and came with all of the comforts of home. This property was in a great location that was close to Custer State Park, Crazy Horse, and Mount Rushmore. We loved using the house as a landing spot to relax and recharge throughout our many sightseeing adventures. The only complaint I had was the water was occasionally stinky, like a fishy or stagnant smell, especially when we first got there and ran the kitchen facet. For a minor inconvenience there was only 1 dish rag to wash dishes after cooking so that was kind of a pain to wash that daily, it would’ve been nice if there were a couple. Also, the property doesn’t have air conditioning, which wasn’t bad during our stay because the weather was mild but might be a problem for others. Overall we enjoyed our stay at this cute rustic cabin and would love to stay again if we ever come back to Custer.

Location was ideal. Close to all the major sites. Overall we enjoyed our stay but place had issues with moths and they didn’t clean under couch and beds.

Overall we had a great stay. The property was a great location to Custar, Wind Cave, Jewel Cave, and Hot Springs. The furniture and beds were cute and comfortable. There were great views and elk were seen early in the morning.
It does state linens are provided but there is only one towel per person so if you need more you may want to bring your own. There also was not handtowels in the kitchen and not enough coffee for our stay. There were a few other small items that I was surpised were lacking with the amount of the fees paid such as the welcome basket was full of expired treats. The pavers out front are no longer even and were tripped over when hauling items out.
Overall none of the little concerns would prevent us from staying again. We just expected those small touches with the amout of fees.

The two twin beds upstairs were subpar. The sleep was very uncomfortable. We explored the problem to find both boxsprings below the mattress were broken. No wonder the guys felt like they were leaning at a 45° angle!

Property is great for a medium/large family! Layout good, kitchen stocked adequately, great amenities including fire pit and plenty of seating inside and out. The only issue we had was there seem to be moths (bugs!) coming in through the bathroom vents. We killed 40+ during the 3 night stay. Maybe needs screens and a review of the entry design? I would recommend property and stay here again. Close to Custer and Rushmore to the north, and hot springs and caves to south.

Was a wonderful vacation stay!!
Great in cooler weather! Not so sure about the summer, hot weather. Could be pretty hot in there because of one air conditioner up stairs. Otherwise a great place to stay!! 😊

This cabin has everything you would need. The kitchen was well stocked with lots of cookware and small appliances. It has an awesome grill. The location is excellent for seeing the Black Hills, Custer state park, Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse. Lots of room to spread out. Very clean except for the Keurig coffee pot needed some attention.

Loved everything about this cabin! How beautiful. It was pricy, and if I booked again I’d make sure we had a couple more friends to split the cost. The cleaning fee (which added a property damage fee I did not want) was super high. We had to do some of the work, like take out trash, strip the beds, pile the towels. But that was a small inconvenience. Our only complaint about this property was its location to the highway. It’s just literally feet off a fairly busy highway, and other than late at night, you’ve got traffic all day. So nice to sit and look at the stars, and be away from noisy people. It was a pleasure coming back to it each night for home base!
