Beautiful, well-appointed property located centrally within the village.
Clean, comfortable and as for the hot tub......my family loved it.

First impressions count and this property had it all.- fabulous facilities and the wow factor. Had to be good at reversing to get the car into the enclosed yard. Display cabinet shelves a bit dusty and the wok had been left with oil in but other than these minor points the property was first class.

The house is in a perfect position just a short stroll from the High Street where there are lovely places to eat and drink. It was well equipped with anything you would possibly need and a lovely welcome pack was waiting for us when we arrived. We visited lots of lovely places every day all within an hours journey of the property. The house was beautiful and we had a hard task trying to keep our 5 year old granddaughter out of the hot tub. She loved it!!! Nice to relax in after a long day sightseeing.Although there is only one space for parking at the property, there are plenty places on the High Street.
I would definitely recommend it and if we visit the Cotswolds again in the future, I woul love to stay here again. Thankyou.

We had a fabulous week in Moreton at The Old Candle Shop. The property was very well equipped and the welcome basket was superb. The beds were very comfortable and the towels were lovely and fluffy. Everything was well explained in the house and we managed to use the cooker and tv with no problems.
My only slight whinges were that the drawers in the bedroom hadn’t been cleaned properly and the parking space was a bit tight. I always bring my own shampoo/conditioner/shower gel anyway but these weren’t provided at the property.
We will definitely stay again and Moreton is a lovely Cotswold town.

A very comfortable high spec property in a fabulous location. The welcome pack was lovely and everything you need was provided and well thought out. Living room was extremely comfy with excellent seating for us all and we enjoyed our stay. Thank you
Our only minor criticisms are:
No Prosecco flutes - even in the cabinet there wasn’t anything suitable
No pint glasses
The garden on entering the property was untidy with dead plants in pots so not a great first impression
Umbrella was broken so no shade
BBQ was unusable due to being filthy and not cleaned from whoever used it last

We had such a lovely stay at The Old Candle Shop, it’s a beautiful little house. It was spotless and the welcome basket was a lovely extra touch. The beds were really comfortable and we loved the hot tub. We hope to come again ☺️

4 nights away with family. We chose a great place to stay. Very comfortable and in a great area.

The property is in an excellent location within 100m to the shops and pubs of Moreton. It was spacious and clean with everything you could need. The hot tub was clean and well maintained. If you have a very big car you may find the parking a bit tight. EV charger wasn't working, but the property manager sorted it very quickly. I would recommend this property and would go again if I was visiting the area.

Always stay here when I visit Moreton, nowhere better to stay. A very warm property, very comfortable and quiet.

The property certainly has the wow factor, beautifully presented and very well equipped. The location is great, just a few metres from the main high street, but even being so close there was no noise nuisance at all.
Everything was good quality & it was a comfortable property to stay in.
Our only two very minor niggles were that there were plenty of plastic flutes & wine glasses for use around the hot tub, however there were only 2 proper glass wine glasses for use indoors. I appreciate there was a cabinet containing expensive looking crystal glasses however we didn't know if they were for general use & would have been afraid of breaking them.
Also there were four of us booked into the property but only 3 hot tub towels were provided - properly an oversight.
We would all definitely stay here again as it really was a lovely place.

My daughter and I stayed 5 nights, using both bedrooms. The house was toasty warm in January and very inviting. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would visit again in a heartbeat. The skylights over the beds allowed for terrific star gazing at night. The hot tub was perfect. It’s a high end house with beautiful furnishings and lighting. The beds are soft but really comfortable. Great shower
There are always some things to improve but these are minor. While the location is ideal for walking from the train, there’s also some street noise early in the morning. Shampoo and shower soap are not provided. There aren’t a lot of food items such as spices, oils etc but Tesco is literally 40 steps away
We walked to bourton on the water and took the bus back. We also took the bus to Tewksbury. Bus system is excellent. We took the train to Oxford on a rainy day. 5 days was the perfect length to stay and after a long day we always looked forward to returning to the old candle shop. Thank so much!

This cottage is just lovely. It was really clean on arrival and had everything you could possibly need. The location is perfect and the hot tub a great asset. We were able to access everywhere really easily which was a bonus. We didn’t want to leave!!

We had a lovely stay at The Old Candle shop. Everything we needed was there for four of us, it was lovely done! We spent our evenings by the fire playing games and watching Christmas films. Location was great as we had everything we needed in the village but was easy to get to all the villages we wanted to visit too. It was also lovely having our own ensuite too and the piano was a nice touch. We would 100% stay again.

The house was lovely and in such a great location close to the shops and station.
The house had everything we needed and wanted which was great.
Couple of things that could be improved would be something like a gazebo over the hot tub so it can be used in all weather conditions.
Also the sofa bed in the front room needs seriously upgrading its very uncomfortable and dips in the middle even when set up as a sofa.

Good quality accommodation,
A little annoying the missing cafeteria was not resolved during our stay.

The Old Candle Shop is located in one of the most beautiful parts of the country , all areas of the Cotswold are a short drive away and would highly recommend seeing as much as you can . The old Candle Shop is amazing it is roomie and well-presented and the of street parking is a bonus . The outside area is also good with a hot tub that is not over looked , i must say though that the only down side are a few of the food eateries we had a few poor meals/takeaways the stone bake pizza place was not that great and Ask Italia also not great having said that it did not spoil our stay i must recommend Otis & Belle they serve amazing fresh baked food every day . Also leaving on a high these areas are very dog friendly which ticks a box for most . In regards to what i have said these are our views in regards to the eateries please make your own decision .

We had a wonderful time at the Old Candle Shop. The location is perfect and having space for a car was great for day trips. The space was clean and had all of the amenities we could need. Great for a family vacation. The hot tub was a wonderful bonus to use in the evening.

We had a fantastic few days at The Old Candle Shop. The cottage was beautiful and spotlessly clean. It also had absolutely everything anyone would need from milk and butter in the fridge to dog treats in the cupboard.
Location-wise, the cottage is in the heart of Moreton-in-Marsh, just behind the High Street, with plenty of places to eat and drink.
The walks were beautiful too!
A perfect place to stay and we wouldn't hesitate to go back again, it was a real 'home from home' holiday.

The old candle shop was well presented and well located it is finished to a high standard and a big bonus was the off road parking the hot tub was a great addition and a nice out side area as we had a dog with us and fully secure for the him
The property is just off the high street that has pubs restaurants and shops so very handy
The only thing I would recommend is replacement of sofas as the sofa bed is very uncomfortable and small chesterfield is very low the arm chair is very comfortable I had to clean out log burner as it had been used and some cutlery and cooking utensils were not clean in the drawers however all in all really enjoyed our stay and great location and good walks with the dog over the fields

We had a wonderful stay at the Old Candle Shop in Moreton. The property is in a perfect location two minutes walk from the High Street with parking which is a huge bonus . It has been built to a high standard and offers very comfortable accommodation with lots of nice touches and more importantly is very clean. The owners have thought of everything to ensure guests have a perfect stay. We loved coming back after a day out to unwind in the hot tub. The kitchen is well stocked with crockery and utensils . We would have no hesitation in recommending a stay at the Old Candle Shop and will certainly return next time we visit the Cotswolds . The whole process from booking the accommodation to checking in and out was simple and we had regular updates from StayCotswold who were very efficient.

Beautiful
A wonderful bit of luxury with plenty of space to relax and unwind, everything there to make it a hone from home with a thoughtfully chilled bottle of prosecco on arrival. Brilliantly situated if you wanted to ditch the car for a week as so many eateries and shops and walks on the doorstep. Finish the day in the hot tub to totally de stress

Nice house, but smaller than I expected, with very little airflow / ventilation in the summer
The house is lovely but more of a winter retreat that one for the summer. The rooms get very hot (granted we were in the middle of a heatwave), and there is only one small fan provided in the flat. There are no windows on the back of the sitting room area, so there is no venilation at all flowing thorugh the house on a hot day.
The entire house is smaller than it appears in the photos. The living room is a decent size, with a nice open plan kitchen. There are two small bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms upstairs, where you have to duck your head if you're tall. The outdoor space is also not very big, and shares the space with your car if you're using it to park as well. The jacuzzi is a lovely feature which we used on most evenings.
We had to ask for extra towels and a fresh change of sheets in the middle of the one week stay, as they weren't provided on entry.
Lastly, the kitchenware is mostly / all Ikea stuff that is on the lower end of their range -- not really on par with the premium price paid for the stay.

Lovely place to stay
The Old Candle shop was a lovely place to stay. It is beautifully presented and well equipped. Although in the heart of Moreton in Marsh it is surprisingly private. The hot tub was the icing on the cake! Would love to stay again.

Mixed feelings
We arrived to not being able to open the garage door. We had to have the maintenance man come out. It took about two hours for him to arrive but fortunately we were not going out. He did indicate that this was not an uncommon problem.
We had to pick broken glass out of the patio.
The barbecue was disgusting and clearly not cleaned after a number of uses. The hot tub had scum all round the sides. There was food in the freezer which hadn’t been emptied out for previous occupants.
The house had everything you needed and decorated and kitted out to a very good standard apart from the sofa bed which seemed to be broken.
I had a very bad slip coming out of the hot tub as there was no rail. I smashed my head and hand which we reported to Stay Cotswolds and the owners never even asked if I was ok but when we accidentally brought home a cake slice they were very quick to ask for that to be returned which we did by signed for post.
The property is right on the road so be aware you can literally hear people’s conversations word for word as they pass but whether you are in the courtyard or in bed.
Not sure if we would recommend to anyone but unfortunately there is no “ not sure” opinion.

Stunning house ! Stunning location ! Very close to the town and close for field walks for the dogs ! The house was amazing very clean and well presented and the secure carport for the car was a bonus as was the hottub for a soak at night !!

Central bijou and stylish
Brilliant central location!! We used it as a base for walking the monarchs way and used the local bus services to Chipping Camden, Stow on the Wold and Bourton on the water to do this in stages. It worked really well! The Manor house Hotel, Raj Mahal and the Moreton Beer cellar are worth a visit and fresh croissant and sourdough from Otis and Belle in the mornings made it all feel very continental. We didn’t use the hot tub but really appreciated the large table for suppers outside. The living space is excellent, the bedrooms were incredibly warm at night. We would’ve liked some larger mugs for tea and coffee and the saucepans were all a little too small!

A great find
This was the second time we have visited the beautiful Cotswold. The Old Candle Shop in Moreton-in-Marsh has a real wow factor. Tastefully furnished and very comfortable. Well equipped modern kitchen, 2 fridges and a wine cooler. Large lounge, dining area, utility room, downstairs cloakroom, 2 double bedrooms both with its own bathrooms. The courtyard for alfresco dining and a hot tub a real bonus. Situated in a lane, a few steps from the convenience of being in the pretty thriving town of Morton-in-Marsh where there are lovely tea rooms, coffee shops, pubs, supermarkets and independent shops etc. plus a weekly market and walkable swing park for the children.
Morton-in-Marsh is ideally situated for visiting other beautiful places in the Cotswold. A Great Find.

Great stay at The Old Candle Shop. Location of the property was great and it was equipped with everything (and more) than you could possibly ever need. The accommodation and court yard was immaculately clean! The perfect mini break for our young family.

Thank you again for the amazing trip and we hope to be back in the future

Beautiful
Perfect for a weekend away. The house is beautiful and had everything we needed. The location was ideal - very close to restaurants and shops and yet, very near to open countryside for lengthy walks. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - thank you.
8.0
Fantastic location, great features - needs a deep clean badly
The positives - everything is new, place has been refurbished excellently in the past couple of years, a minute's walk from the high street with loads of eateries, smack bang in the middle of the Cotswolds so an ideal launching pad to see what Cotswold's AONB has to offer. My son loved the piano and I think we all loved the log burner.
The negatives - the place was filthy. The basics had been done - kitchen tops, changing the bed linen and hoovering the main floors - but there was a thick layer of dust on all the skirting boards and there was a cobweb in the hall. The downstairs bathroom had a mirror that was covered in dust too, none of the blinds either upstairs or downstairs had been cleaned - there was still a drink or something that had been spilled on the wall. The cabinet with all the crystal had watermarks and some unidentified material on the shelves too. There was still old egg on one of the saucepans, some of the crockery wasn't clean so ended up washing everything before I used it. Metal utensils went with the colour scheme but it meant that every pan had the non-stick coating chipped which made half the pans unusable. The drawers were untidy and still had some old food in too. The lamps in the living room all had dust on. All this dust, I didn't want my infant crawling on the floor which was a shame as there was loads of space!
Upstairs, the bathroom floors weren't cleaned properly, there was a big pile of dust behind the door and hair in the bath drain in bath 2, around and under the toilet in bed 1 still had old bits of toilet paper. Additionally, there was a bag of rubbish left in our room and clothes were still in the drawers from previous tenants. Again, the skirting boards upstairs were also filthy and there was actually fingerprints in the lampshade at the top of the stairs.
I did call the Property Manager who was at first non committal regarding whether a cleaner could be sent out so I called back 2 hours later and he confirmed that someone would be around at 2pm. I rattled off a list of problem areas that came to mind on the phone to Chris. The infant clothes were piled on the island to avoid confusion with a note including my mobile number to ask for a call once the place had been vacated. Herding my infant and basically immobile partner on crutches into the car, we killed time while the cleaners worked their magic on the house.
Alas, after 3 hours, we returned to the flat without receiving a phone call. To be fair to the cleaners, what they did clean was spotless. The drink splashed on the wall, the blinds upstairs and down had been cleaned, the dust behind the door in bath 2, the rubbish and clothes were gone. Short of that, everything still had dust and there was a new cobweb in the kitchen. I did receive some calls late on Saturday around 7pm but I didn't get them as we were enjoying dinner.
The utility, downstairs toilet and hallway were absolutely freezing. None of the towel radiators worked so there was definitely some cool areas within the house plus the temperature wasn't very consistent. Log burner was fantastic, we had loads of wood but there was about a 10 degree drop walking into the utility.
I have photos to share as I am looking at compensation for one night's stay, I hope this review will start that ball rolling.

Take a good look at this place….
Myself and my wife stayed here with our elderly dog in October 2021.
This is a brilliant property, superbly converted to a high standard and in a location which is fantastic for all the local high street, shops and social scene.
We used the hot tub a few times which was fun and it was great to have an enclosed secure space for both the car and the dog.
Our only suggestion for improvement is to divide the very large “lounge” into two separate spaces, a TV “snug” and a social area for friends/drinks. Not a big deal but the area isn’t very cosy currently.
Overall, we loved it and will return one day to further explore the Cotswolds.
Highly recommended. DC

Beautiful property
Fantastic location just off high Street. House is gorgeous - newly renovated and beautiful decor. Comfortable beds. Would definitely return.

Extremely smart holiday accommodation
There has been substantial investment here to make a lovely holiday home. 5* cleanliness and comfortable beds. The seating in the lounge is not very comfortable and lack of a wardrobe for those sleeping on the bed settee is a must. An additional tv in one of the bedrooms would be a bonus. Would we book again- definitely.
