Great location and clean.

The house was filthy when we arrived. The dishes in the cabinets had food stuck to them as well as pots and pans in the drawers. The glasses in the cabinet were dirty. Dust and spider webs everywhere, outside area hadn't been cleaned and there was a contact lens dried up on the table. I contacted Vacasa and they asked for photos which I sent, they asked for more & I sent more. I asked if they wanted additional photos & they said no, & said they would send a cleaning team, they never came or contacted us further. Every time we used anything in the kitchen we had to clean it first...everything. I emailed and asked for a compensation and still haven't heard a word from them. We left the house much cleaner than when we arrived because we had to clean it in order to stay in the house. We were there for a wedding so it was frustrating to clean the house around our family wedding. Horrible experience, still waiting for Vascasa to reply.

"The house is beautiful but needs some TLC from the caregivers. It accommodated our family well, but there were several issues that detracted from our stay. My sister's car was hit while parked on the street, and the truck that hit it pulled into the driveway. Despite requesting the camera footage to identify the license plate for a report, I still haven’t received any response. The floors were extremely dirty, to the point where walking without shoes or slippers turned our feet black. The provided paper towels and toilet paper were of very low quality, comparable to dollar store items. The dishes, pots, and pans were disorganized and mismatched, and there was no detergent available for laundry. Additionally, the bed linens in some rooms were not cleaned and had hair on them, which was very unpleasant. Given the price we paid, we expected better accommodations. Finally, I was not expecting La Jolla to have such an unpleasant smell."

Excellent property if you want to be able to walk to shopping, restaurants and Seal Beach. All the rooms were a generous size. Beds were comfortable. The roof top seating area had views of the ocean which was so relaxing. Definitely would stay again!

Great location, great house, terribly maintained by property managers. In a nutshell, I spent more time dealing with house problems than I did enjoying my sons wedding.

We had a wonderful stay here and it’s in a great location in La Jolla. The rooftop was gorgeous and had a great view.
We did have a couple issues, the kitchen floor was disgusting but fortunately the owner sent someone out to clean it after we push back. The other issue that was very frustrating was that the dryer was knowingly broken and not communicated beforehand. With 3 families staying here this was very frustrating and we had to spend hundreds of dollars having it done elsewhere.
We had an enjoyable stay overall.

Perfect spot

Perfect location. Walkable to town and restaurants. Nice outdoor spaces, but needs some updating (old, torn cushions on outdoor furniture, rug in living room torn). 2 of 3 showers do not drain. Lower level shower has some mold and that bath has faint sewage smell. Outdoor gas fireplace not functioning and property manager did not respond when asked twice for instructions.

The house was beautiful. Pros were, plenty of space, beautiful home, outside areas very relaxing and beautifully decorated, kitchen was beautiful.
Cons, driveway could not be used. Way too steep and our rental suv was too big, when we arrived there was a strong seafood smell coming from garbage disposal and we had a fruit fly problem our entire visit. Definitely some deferred maintenance and some needed updating. Carpet in living room was worn terribly and had tears in it, one of the pillows on the couch was ripped, two upstairs shower doors scraped the floor and had to be pulled hard to close,
buttons were missing from the couch, iron was broken making use with steam not possible and light bulbs needed to be replaced.
Vacasa was extremely responsive to our calls and they did come and give us fruit fly traps and sprays and replaced light bulbs. They were quick to respond to any text we sent.
We loved the house but would expect that the worn furniture and rugs would be replaced to keep the level of home in line with the cost of the rental.

Our first visit to La Jolla for a family wedding. Beautiful area, the home was perfect for 10 adults. Clean, cozy and plenty of space to relax. We enjoyed the roof top & back patio. Walking distance to the beach, shopping & the wedding venue at La Valencia Hotel. A great gathering home. Keep in mind , you'll get your exercise going up and down the staircases to the bedrooms on 2nd floor and basement level.
We did not rent car, uber easily available!

To advertise property as 'Luxe, Remodeled' home is creative. We booked for four-week summer retreat and left at end of week three due to lack of responsiveness from management company and safety concerns. Issues w/WIFI, plumbing, and smoke detectors. All reported to vacasa, none resolved.
WIFI does not reach third floor.
When I reported the plumbing issue on Day 11, vacasa rep told me policy was to have tenant troubleshoot before proceeding to alternative solution. When I couldn't fix it, they sent someone 24 hours later, and he could not fix issue either. He said they would contact a plumber. As of the time I left (Day 21), no plumber had shown up to resolve that problem.
Biggest issue was smoke detectors, which went off on four different days, usually around 4 a.m. All incidents were reported to vacasa. While vacasa came the day after the first incident, they did fix the problem, as the detectors kept going off. I reported again on three different occasions, with no response. By Day 21, I really had no confidence that vacasa was going to resolve this issue. Furthermore, I wasn’t really sure this issue was weak batteries, or something more serious. Given these concerns, I called vacasa to indicate we were vacating the property six days early.
Clearly vacasa has no regard for the safety and concerns of the tenant. Their lack of responsiveness, ‘you-fix-it-first policy’ and inadequate customer service should be a red flag for any property they represent.

The good: pretty spacious, great walking location
The bad: their "sensitive" plumbing makes the lower level literally smell like sewage if you use the toilet or shower.
DO NOT bring a car here. Getting in and out of this driveway is the most dangerous thing I've ever seen - constant stream of traffic and pedestrians while you gas/break out of a 40 degree incline. Totally insane and dangerous.
Lastly, typical cheap rental stuff: dated, worn furniture, uncomfortable old mattresses. That's fine if you're paying low rates but this place is priced as luxury as is certainly not luxury.

We stay in higher end homes around the world, this stay did not meet our expectations.

House is chopped up with one of the main bedrooms being in a converted garage with no windows or natural light. So this means there is no parking with the property and requires finding street parking in a competitive location. The house has not been rented for a while so utilities had been powered down and it took two days for a technician to arrive to turn hot water back on. Overall not worth the price and would not rent this house again.

great location and beautiful house. Never felt crowded and there were 10 of us. Walk to restraurants/shops was very easy even with one mobility impaired person. I would definitely recommend and stay here again if we are coming to the area.

Fantastic location and pretty home! Could’ve used more towels and most of the fans didn’t work. Would stay there again, had 4 couples and that was perfect.

A very nice property to stay at with friends or family, a stones throw from all the downtown La Jolla food spots and shops. Parking was the biggest challenge; as the driveway is just too steep for use…. So competing for a street spot is frustrating. Checkin process was very simple, and the home was in great shape for our stay. We wish there was a bit more to offer in terms of drinks / snacks upon arrival. Some basic water or soft drinks would have made the start of the stay THAT much better. Would stay again.

This is a lovely home in a fantastic location, literally one block from the restaurants, shops and tourist trappings of La Jolla (which has some downside, noted below). The room setup is perfect for our extended family, with snorers and light sleepers all needing separate bedrooms.
The kitchen is sufficiently stocked to prepare a family meal, and the living room and adjoining patio area are very comfortable. The furnishings in some rooms are a bit spartan: for example one bedroom has just a bed, with nothing else to sit or set items on; and the nearby bathroom has just a sliver of counter space around the sink. We did not use the roof patio, as it lacks shade and shelter from the wind, which coats everything with dust.
Other than the dusty roof patio, we found the entire house spotlessly clean.
Note that the two downstairs bedrooms are truly under ground, and get no natural light, but are comfortable enough for sleeping and TV watching.
Also note that the street is quite busy, as a main artery between the business district and the freeway. The front-facing bedroom gets traffic noise day and night, and you may have to park around the corner as on-street spaces fill up. The rest of the house is quite peaceful.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to any large group wanting to stay in the heart of La Jolla, with a few minor caveats.

A great place and a great location.

The home is in a perfect location next to the village & extremely clean and roomy. We had 11 people staying and all were very comfortable. The lower level has a Queen bed, couch and large ottoman that worked well for the family of 4 plus another guest room. One of the upper level rooms does not have closets or a dresser. We used the hooks and drawers in the laundry room. Not ideal, but we made it work. As noted in other ratings, the driveway is a true test of skill…..incredibly steep. We were able to find limited parking along Prospect street. The check-in & out was effortless. We’ll done Vacasa. A heads up to someone that is elderly or has limited mobility and will be staying overnight…..access to all the bedrooms require the use of many stairs. It was a challenge for my 87 year old Dad but, he is a trooper and stepped up to the task😁. The home is beautiful and has an incredible kitchen, indoor and outdoor living space. We were a bit disappointed in the condition of the roof top furniture as we spent a good amount of time in that area. However, the views are breathtaking. We would absolutely stay in this home on our next trip to La Jolla.

What a beautiful home! The home is within walking distance of all of the amazing shops and restaurants La Jolla Cove has to offer. We will definitely be looking to stay here again next time we’re in the area.

Great location! And close walking distance to shops and restaurants. Plus awesome views from the roof top. I would stay there again.

Beautiful home in a perfect location!
The house was very beautiful, updated, and located in a perfect location within 5 mins walk to the beach and countless dining and shopping options! We were a family of 5 (4 adults and 1 child), and with the 3 levels we had plenty of room to spread out. We only had one maintenance issue during our stay which was handled promptly - excellent customer service. The only drawback was the driveway to the home, which represents the one included "free space" and was extremely steep downward. We had a large SUV that we didn't feel overly comfortable parking overnight on such an incline, so we ended up parking on the street near the home when we could find a spot (very limited). Maybe this isn't an issue with a smaller car...? All in all, though, we had a wonderful stay here and would highly recommend!

Beautiful home in a great location, within walking distance to shops, restaurants, shoreline. Check-in was effortless and there was plenty of space in the house for our family of 6 to spread out and enjoy both the indoor and outdoor spaces. House was very clean upon arrival and fully stocked with basic necessities. We didn't cook in the home but there was plenty of cookware and dish ware available to prep and serve a good sized group. Property management was easily accessible and very responsive to questions and requests for assistance (like how to start the fireplaces). My only suggestion would be to leave a sheet with basic instructions on how to operate equipment in the house even though this information was shared via the Vacasa App. I would definitely stay in this home again and wouldn't hesitate to rent via Vacasa and this management company again.
